As Bloodly noted, PC stat growth is determined purely by the weapons equipped. This sounds problematic, but because most PCs have only one weapon to equip, it means their stats can theoretically be calculated. The MC however, is another story as he/she can swap weapons as needed. To note, there maybe one or two weapons that are unique to the MC (as in no other PC will use it), but I'm not 100% certain about this. What I do know from the PCs available:

Lisa - Staff
Bud - 2H Sword
Elazul - 1H Sword
Blackpearl - Hammer
Larc - 1H Axe
Sierra - Knives
Daena - Flails
Escad - 2H Sword
Niccolo - Gloves
Elle - Nothing

This leaves a grand total of 3 weapons that aren't used: Spears, Bows and 2H Axes. Because setting one weapon as "permanent" might seem arbitrary, one way is to simply add the overall growths of all weapons available and call that the MC's bases. Another is to average out the 3 weapons over end game levels (around level 45-50ish) so each one gets the same number of levels for growths. The last method (which is the easiest) is to base it off one weapon since an average player is unlikely to consistent switch weapons around every level. In this case, I ended up using the 2H Sword, which also ends up being the best weapon. It trades off some movement speed for lots more attack power. Most likely, the damage figures I'll be pulling up will be based off the 2H Sword.

The MC is a headache for other reasons (...). If you allow him/her the customization stuff which he/she has open access to, we're suddenly looking at a ludicrous amount of damage due to the way equipment can be twinked. Of course, LoM twinking mechanics are the next episode of Saga mechanics so they are entirely *psyduck* to me. I'll not be taking the MC's damage with ridiculous twinked stuff in the average though, since it requires an actual indepth knowledge of how the customization works to create stuff like 999 attack weapons. Furthermore, the MC is much more likely to have a large level lead over the other characters due to how there are many quests where the other PCs do not have to be a part of. Not to mention the AI is not smart at picking up experience crystals. Due to this, I’ve noted an average with the MC and an average without.

To note importantly, here are some effects that the MC can gain through IC. Namely: Status immunities, added attacks (not specials), added damage to be dealt, improved HP regen, Auto Life effect.

Stats displayed on the status screen translate to the following. Information here all from Bloodly. I reworded some of them:

HP: Your health, represented in battle as a % value. Lose this, and die.
Power: Determines the basic power of things you'd call 'Strength-based'. The game does not note which weapons are strength based. Because all PCs aside from the MC use only one weapon, this ends up being a pretty meaningless stat.
Skill: Basic power of 'Technical attacks'. See above. Again, all PCs aside from the MC use only one weapon. So the translation of losing power on “technical” attacks is not much.
Defence: Defence against physical attacks of the enemy. Note that from testing, you either need to have a LOT lower defense or a LOT higher for this figure to mean anything. While testing, most damage was consistent. Thus, LoM defense without twinking (which most PCs aside from the MC will not have) is pretty meaningless.
Magic: This controls magic resistance. See above.
Health: This is ALSO called 'HP' in-game. Bloodly calls it 'health' to differ between the two. I concur for similar reasons. Controls HP, HP regen(All characters regen over time when not moving or attacking, under normal circumstances), and resistance to the Poison status.
Spirit: Controls resistance to any OTHER statuses thrown at you by your enemies. There's 8 listed in all: Poison, Darkness (Rarely encountered), Confusion (reverse controls), Flameburst(You burn, taking damage over time), Paralysis(Can't move or attack), Freeze (Can't move/attack and take damage over time), Sleep (Can't move), and Petrify (Same as Freeze).
Charm: Controls the success rate of status attacks you use on the enemy. These aren't common at all.
Luck: Controls the chance of finding stuff after battle. This stat is under normal circumstances, ALWAYS 5. With that and the fact that the stat does nothing in battle, I'm perfectly willing to discard it.

NPC equips are un-checkable from the Menu, and un-changable. This means unless you have a means to get a 'copy' of their equipment, you can't check it's stats, and it's impossible to tell whether their equip is 'as normal' or whether it's modified in some way. 

Yes, this is also a good reason for "Let's not rank LoM ever". For the purposes of this topic, we'll list whatever is given and can dig up. I am FAIRLY certain off hand though, that other PC equipment can't be twinked like the MC's. This at least makes the view of reading the base stats off it somewhat more reasonable.

On another tangent, I did some digging for stat meanings and importance. First...some special attacks have added status effects. I don't think normal attacks do, which is why Bloodly stated them to be not common. Second, the health stat is largely unimportant...unless it reaches 93. At which point the HP regen is supposedly insane. Normally though, the HP regen is FAR too slow for it to matter.

NPC skills and Special Attacks are also unchangable. If a special attack can also be learnt by the MC, it will be listed as 'As Player's'. Truely unique techniques will be noted with 'Unique'.


On Skills, Attacks and Damage:
Damage dealt by PCs is a bit of a headache since we can't see how much % is actually dealt to the boss, nor do we know the bosses defensive stats. To get some semblance of figures, I have proposed the following. There is an arena in Geo that you can pit a PC against a PC. Since we can control the MC's defense as well as know his/her HP and % dealt, we can easily measure the amount of damage dealt from each attack/technique. This obviously isn't the optimal way of doing it, but it gives some figures (we hope anyway).

The alternative solution of "Speak to Niu" is still a nice solid idea though.

Attacks are chainable, as are skills, to create combos. Apparently, if combos go on long enough, you will generate a Candy(Health pick-up). This candy restores 25% of MHP and can be grabbed by the opposing PC as well, although as a whole, the attacker recovers faster. As a note, Candy drops on average between 3-12 attacks. This is NOT necessarily at random. It seems that you need to do at least x2 the number of hits from your basic combo in order for this to occur. Why mention this? Because there are PCs who can do these attacks reliable, giving them 25% MHP regeneration a turn. (Further reasons for why we should never rank this game)

Special attacks require roughly 2.5 attack chains for it to completely fill. These attacks are also completely invincible during its start up, frames of animation, as well as shortly afterwards during the recovery of the move. Note that because of the start up, enemies CAN move out of the attack range since a PC preparing a special attack cannot move. How much you hold them to this is dependent on you. Just as a note though, it is not difficult to connect specials on actual bosses (since like PCs, they also have moves where they need to recover, so you can start the tech up during that time) although obviously, some are easier to connect. For example: The 2H Sword technique Marble Stream has a lot more horizontal AND Verticle tolerance than Shield Breaker.

PCs also have a unique effect called "Synchro". For the most part, they only apply during team battles (all linked members receive the effect of the Synchro of another) but will be noted. Unfortunately, I'm not as good as Bloodly at determining if certain NPC set-ups work better or worse, but I'll try making notes. At this point, I should point out about LoM levels again. Similar to Earthbound, it is MUCH easier to get the MC to a higher level than the other PCs. So take his/her damage with a grain of salt. The good news though is that the other PCs all share the same level so it won't be as if Elazul will have a 10 level advantage over Niccolo. Bloodly's compiled some notes for Elazul and Blackpearl, which I'll be editting as we move along.

On spells and magic, these are similar to special attacks in that they are invincible while the attack is performed and during the recovery of the spell. However, PCs can be attacked while they are charging. Unlike Special attacks however, Magic can be used as frequently as you want. The average time for most magic to cast is roughly 1.1 seconds, although it can take as long as 2.7 seconds. Magic also has knockback effects in that it pushes the enemy away from the PC as well as different firing ranges. For example, there’s Fan Fire/Donut Fire/Circle Fire to name a few. By far the best one is Control Fire, which allows the player to control the firing zone of the attack, making it impossible for the opposing PC to step out of range. There are opposing elements like in other RPGs and these go as so:

Wisp (Light) <-> Shade (Dark)
Aura (Artifical power) <-> Dryad (Natural power)
Salamander (Fire) <-> Undine (Water)
Jinn (Wind) <-> Gnome (Earth)

Opposing elemental attacks take 2x as much damage as normal.

NOTE: This came up in chat, but please keep in mind that the NPC characters are controlled by the computer if there is no player to take over. The computer is generally not as smart as a human player and will do things as Tai puts in, walk into the line of fire of an incoming attack. Therefore, your milage may vary on these damages and potential strategies the comps can take.

Comments:
So very happy he uses 2H Swords. His magic fails, but is an alternative at least. His best combo is very easy to perform for a human. The overall damage isn’t too shabby, for all that he wishes he got better skills. Nothing really stands out in the end. High Light

Comments:
You know you’re in trouble in Legend of Mana, when you’re best damage is coming from Magic either way. At least Lisa is happy that she is not Pearl. Still bad HP, bad damage, below average movement speed, all of these add up to a Low Light. Curses life that she got stuck with staves.


Niccolo - The Peddler of smiles

Other notes: His weak attacks come out VERY fast. Even tapping the button quickly, sometimes, his first attack would cancel back into itself. This lets him stun his enemy faster than most other PCs. While most of the cast does it roughly 40% of the time, Niccolo can do it around 60%. How you want to interpret this is up to you.

Comments:
After the two wonder twins, Niccolo’s a nice breath of fresh air. First, his HP’s nice, making him a decent tank. Next, that boosted stun rating and actual damage is lovely as well. Resisting fire by 50% is always going to be a neat boon. And on the off chance he gets a Jawbreaker off, its going to hurt. The bad news? He moves horribly slowly. That and his lack of range hurts in game. Whether or not it does DL wise…well, at the very least it will make him lose tiebreaks. Probably a Middle of some variety.


Daena – Catgirl with flails.

Psyclone: ‘As Player’. Jumps towards the enemy, then strikes a wide area with flails. Deals 79.8 damage. Supposed to add “Defense Up”. Effect is not noticeable at all.
Back Slasher: ‘As Player’. Pushes the enemy in the opposite direction, followed by a strike. Requires close range to work. Deals 93.1 damage.
'Round the World - Unique tech. Daena charges at everything in front of her. 79.8 damage

Movement speed: Roughly 13.8 seconds.

Other notes: Like Niccolo, Daena’s flails strike very quickly, allowing her to stun targets more than usual. The increase in stun is similar to Niccolo’s; about an extra 20% to a 40% average. How you want to hold this is up to you.

Comments:
The first cast member who prefers using her base combo over her special attacks. Except for the invincibility frames, Daena has no use for it, seeing as how her best combo is going to out damage all her STs. Fast movement speed + higher stun rate is at least a bit neat. Her HP is pretty crappy though, and like Bud, she doesn’t have much else to offer. High Light

Note: This combo is actually not that complex despite appearances. It also more important, generates a Candy pickup 100% of the time. Which means it also restores 25% of Escad’s MHP

Shish Kabob: ‘As Player’. Escad rolls backwards, then charges forwards to deliver a strike. 152.95 damage. This attack can also confuse the enemy.
Impulse: ‘As Player’. Jumps into the air, then dives at a diagonal angle and strikes the ground. 126.35 damage
Splashblade: ‘As Player’. Requires the enemy at close range; launches the enemy then pummels him with 2 strikes in the air before coming back down. 186.2 damage
Lifestealer - Unique tech. Escad creates a circle around him and anything caught in it is sliced. Despite its name, it does not drain HP. 152.95 damage.

Movement speed: Roughly 14 seconds. (!)

Other notes:
Escad can use his Slide at the end of a basic combo to escape counter attacks. Because he recovers faster than his enemy, on slower moving enemies, he can actually turn around and immediately strike them again. Unless the enemy is fast or large enough that the slide doesn’t disrupt them, he can repeat this chain without ever stopping. Yes, he has an actual potential infinite. Again, AI issues + size issues amongst other things, so YMMV.

Comments:
For all that Escad is a prick, he’s actually very solid: 25% constant regeneration off of fast movement speed and good damage. That says a lot already. Then he adds in a potential Slide combo infinite along in there too. HP is average, but the constant regeneration makes him a pain to kill. His other advantage Slide having other uses (such as stopping enemy counters) is also neat. Low Heavy feels like.


Elazul – The Lapis Knight

Skills:
Bash: If it connects, throws the target(If they're small enough) away behind you some distance, and stuns them for a second or two. You end the throw facing your target. No damage, as with most skills. The delay between bash completing and you being able to move again is short enough that you can sometimes hit them as they fly off.

Tackle: Character charges forward, disrupting the opponent and knocking them back a bit-if they're small enough, and of course if it connects. Does no damage.

Normal attacks:
Weak attack (X): 13.3 damage
Strong attack ([ ]): 26.6 damage
Base combo (X) *3: 39.9 damage
Best combo (X)*3 + ([])*2: 86.45 damage

Specials Attacks:
Iai Strike: As Player. Charges into a target, and slashes. The BLADE must actually hit something. If Elazul ends up too close, he will whiff the attack. 106.4 damage.
Bird of Prey: As Player, A short somersault over whatever may be in front, damaging anything below as they do so. 106.4 damage.
Cross Slash: As Player, Jumps high into the air, brings the sword down in a chop, ten slashes through an enemy caught by the chop. The initial slash does no damage, only locks them in place for the follow up. 126.35 damage
Laser Blade: Unique Tech. Generates a laser beam blade above him, and slams it down in front of him. Has a fair amount of horizontal coverage. This attack is also magic and not physical. 126.35 damage

Movement speed: Around 14.3 seconds (wtf, slower than Escad?)

Other notes:
Unlike what Bloodly originally posted, Elazul can actual repeatedly tackle his enemy into the corner if he wanted to. Since Tackle also lunges, his actual movement “speed” is better than what it looks. Elazul can also opt to use his base combo + 4 tackles or base combo + 3 Tackles and a Bash to generate candy. Like Escad, this drop is a 100% and restores 25% of his MHP. If he does this, he does 39.9 damage instead.

Comments:
Elazul is basically Escad-lite. He loses damage, but gains the ability to move targets around. He brings that 25% MHP regeneration like Escad and better HP obviously means he’s recovering more. Can still disrupt targets with bash in his combo, so he safely avoids counters too. Laser Blade being magic is neat, but I can’t think of who that ends up letting him beat. Low Middle

Lady Blackpearl - Savior of the Jumi
Bloodly Note: Only accessible after the Jumi quest line is complete, and then only if you reach the Bejeweled City on Jinn day. You get a look at her during the last quest in the line, if you choose to take Pearl with you.

Evade: Total evasion of attack, at will. You split off into 3 images which move into different locations, only one of which is real-the two fakes disappear swiftly. You are totally invincible till the move finishes. An important note about this skill is that when it is activated, the player also has no control of where the real copy will end up.

Normal attacks:
Weak attack (X): 23.75 damage
Strong attack ([ ]): 46.55 damage
Base combo (X) *3: 79.8 damage
Best combo (X)*3 + ([])*2: 166.25 damage

Specials Attacks:
Superslugger: ‘As Player’. A close range uppercut strike. Launches the target if it connects. 226.1 damage.
Blammo: ‘As Player’. Blackpearl swings her hammer around herself, causing a huge explosion. 179.55 damage.
Blazing Hammer: ‘As Player’. Steps backwards, then lunges forwards. Like Iai strike, the HAMMER must connect for it to count. 259.35 damage. Adds Power up status. Doesn’t have any noticeable effect however.
Soulreaver: Unique Tech. Blackpearl slams her hammer onto the floor and creates 3 shockwaves. Decent horizontal as well as vertical coverage. 186.2 damage

Movement speed: 16.4 seconds

Comments :
Pretty much the best dueller of the cast (less the MC). That speed is basically averagish. But Blackpearl throws in lunge, instantly fixing any problems associated with movement speed. Next, she hits hard. Really hard. She 2HKOs under basically any interpretation. Then there is Evade, which is quite possibly the most badass skill ever. Splitting into 3 images and being invincible while at it means that any attack or counter has at most a 33% chance of hitting her since she can immediately evade again after the animation stops (and the recovery is short too!). Throw this all together, and despite average HP, she ends up being durable too. The only hole in her game is status effects. Heavy. Her Synchro is equally badass though.

Whirl: Disrupts enemy and spins them in the opposite facing. Target must be small enough for this to have effect. He can connect this in a combo, but it ends up putting the enemy too far away for his axe.

Counterstrike: Puts up a defensive pose. If the enemy strikes during this time, retaliate with a basic physical attack that 4x as much damage. Immune to physical attacks at this time.

Strong attack ([ ]): 26.6 damage
Base combo (X) *3: 39.9 damage
Best combo (X)*3 + ([])*2: 86.45 damage

Specials Attacks:
Bird of Prey: ‘As Player’. Jumps into the air and shoots 4 diagonal blades. Deals 113.05 damage
Cutting Pine ‘As Player’. Jumps forward and strikes. The strike has a nice AoE effect. Deals 159.6 damage
Boulder Dash: ‘As Player’. Spins his axe, dashes backwards. Then jumps and slams his axe forward, creating a rushing wave of boulders. Deals 159.6 damage. Very good horizontal coverage.
Ground Breaker - Unique tech. Larc disappears, then comes back and performs three very quick strikes against the floor, creating 3 separate sets of shockwaves. 106.4 damage.

Movement speed: 14 seconds.

Other notes:
Counterstrike can eat through Special attacks. For example: Against the MC’s Raging Pain extreme tech, putting up counterstrike at the right moment completely stops the attack and even lets Larc counter too (of course due to invincibility during recovery, it does nothing)

Comments:
Larc’s damage is pretty depressing. And despite having an XTREEM tech, the damage it deals fails to impress much (honestly, same power as Cutting Pine. What). However, that’s not what makes Larc impressive. Larc’s main selling point is counterstrike. This translates to total physical immunity DL wise, which lets him spoil quite a few people. He’s also not too shabby durability wise, but he runs scared from damaging mages, since he doesn’t enough power to off them quite successfully. Low Heavy

Other notes:
The backflip actually doesn’t hurt the enemy thus, faster enemies can escape the combo. Sierra can opt to use 3 weak + 2 Strongs in this case to do 79.8 damage. She should THEORETICALLY be able to use (X)*3 + Double Jump + ([]) + (X)*3 for 166.25 damage.  However, I have NEVER been able to get this to work while I was testing. Don’t know why though.

Comments:
Well…between her boss form and her PC form, neither are extremely impressive. As a PC, her damage isn’t too impressive either and she loses her absolute tankishness of the boss form along with status immunities. Feels like a losing trade in general. Although if that theoretical combo works, she becomes as damaging as Blackpearl. Note that Sierra also has a potential infinite using the backflip. Since that doesn’t count as a hit, LoM’s combo counter resets itself again, allowing her to continue on endlessly. Of course, the downside is, she’s constantly moving away from the enemy so she has to be against a wall. Not to mention AI issues appear again. Low Middle I think?

Normal attacks:
Best combo (X)*3 + Flip kick + (X)*3: 165 damage

This combo generates candy at a 100% rate as well, giving the MC 25% MHP regen.

Specials Attacks:
Raging Pain: ‘As Player’. Charges forward a short distance. If it connects, chains multiple hits together before sending the target flying away. Deals 325 damage. Adds all stats up. No noticeable effects however actually occur.

Movement speed: 12 seconds

Comments:
Uh…yeah. Even before all the IC broken, the MC can equip any skill along with any ST and any magic, giving him/her lots of variety. I’ve only listed the one that seems to be the most useful. She can swap Evade for Counterstrike for example, if she’s going up against a pure physical slugger. Aside from that Raging Pain HURTS. A lot. Then doing 165 LoM damage while recovering health is just not fun for the enemies either. Then throw in the unique IC stuff? Yeah. Godlike pretty much. Wait for Magic’s updated figures for damage. For the most part, MC probably wants to set to this skill set + combo set as well.
