So, Relm and Miranda win their matches uncontested. Guess we'll see some characters changing divisions soon enough! ^_^ The closest match was Melfice/Kurando, with Soren/Mareg's match also being a bit of a race.

On to this week's challengers. Again, these rankings may not be perfect and seeding was done with a random number generator. If you think a character belongs in a different division or you think you could help us with rankings, please let me know here or by PM.

Indalecio (SO2) vs. Etna (Dis)- Based... on her division, I'm kinda assuming you're thinking Disgaea 2.  In which case she's shown as needing less prep time to smash large scale real estate (kinda).  In other words kneejerk.
Siegfried (WA1,3) vs. Mithos Yggdrasil (ToS)- Somewhere Niu is crying.
Wiegraf/Velius (FFT) vs. Lady (SH3)- Velius may be powerful, but he's still tied to squishy mortal flesh.
Feena (G1) vs. Ashley Winchester (WA2)- Kneejerk.  I don't really remember if Icarians could much besides ineffectually fight Gaia.

Heavy:
Ziggurat 8 (XS) vs. Hector (FE7)- Legendary weapons aren't THAT badass >.>
Randi (SoM) vs. Lenna (FF5)- No vote.
Maria Traydor (SO3) vs. Emeralda (XG)- Y'know, I  could buy Fayt winning here (rar DESTROY nanomachines).  Maria could prolong the fight a long time, but uh even assuming she can stay invincible forever or something weird, Emmy just outlives here.
Alternatively: lol bias.
Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS)- Kneejerk.

Middle:
Minsc (BGs) vs. Zhuzhen (SH)- No vote.
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX)- No vote.
Arche Klein (ToP) vs. Zahaak (S5)- Flies, smites with magics.  Hurray not having to think about Zahaak plot skillz.
Rico Banderas (XG) vs. Raine Sage (ToS)- Something along the lines of "punches her while spellcasting".  I think ToS spellcasting took time even in plot anyway.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8)- Isn't Charmles.
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7)- I... don't... know...
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4)- Pass, didn't see that much Roger.
Serra (FE7) vs. Healie (DW4)- Better at being determined.  Serra breaks down in some pairings, Healie always changes species based on willpower.

Siegfried (WA1,3) vs. Mithos Yggdrasil (ToS) - Was never much impressed with Sieg himself. Mithos...yeah, he's got this.
Wiegraf/Velius (FFT) vs. Lady (SH3) - Lucavi are several kinds of badass. Lady walks all over Velius anyway.
Feena (G1) vs. Ashley Winchester (WA2) - Lack of Grandia 1

Heavy:
Ziggurat 8 (XS) vs. Hector (FE7) - Hmm, Armads is definately worthy of some cosideration here. Buuut, I think when it comes down to it, a combination of experience and ranged firepower is going to let Ziggy take Hector down.
Randi (SoM) vs. Lenna (FF5) - Mana Knight is a pretty big deal. Thinking he'll take this.
Maria Traydor (SO3) vs. Emeralda (XG) - See CK.
Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS) - Irvine in Heavy? What?

Middle:
Minsc (BGs) vs. Zhuzhen (SH) - Oof. Minsc might fall for something, but my gut says he can force this to a physical contest and he's just not losing that.
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX) - Blue XIII isn't that impressive. Kevin can rough him up.
Arche Klein (ToP) vs. Zahaak (S5) - Queen's Knight is a big deal, and sadly Alenia would probably win this. Zahak...I think the only thing he proved is that he's more cruel then competent. Arche is cleaning him up here.
Rico Banderas (XG) vs. Raine Sage (ToS) - Gut says that Rico can tough out anything Raine can do, but she's not getting up after he gets his hands on her.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8) - Banon curbstomps this little shit.
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7) - ...not thinking about this.
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4) - Roger goes on about how MANLY he is, Edward points out that he's a bard and thus has no trouble getting laid, Roger runs off crying and tries to learn to play guitar.
Serra (FE7) vs. Healie (DW4) - FE8 has proven that Bishops > Monsters. Sure Serra's not from FE8, but this is PLOT FIGHTS IN LIGHT, I don't require more then a really flimsy reason to vote for someone.

Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS) - ...bleh.  Cherenkov.  Can't...see Irvine very high myself. 

Middle:
Minsc (BGs) vs. Zhuzhen (SH) - Minsc.  You can't stop BOO! 
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX) - Kevin.  NO HORN NO HORN!
Arche Klein (ToP) vs. Zahaak (S5) - ...gah.  Yeah, Alenia wins this, but not Zahaak.  Helf with magic is plotty enough.
Rico Banderas (XG) vs. Raine Sage (ToS) - Mmm...Rico's got the wrestling thing going on, and POSSIBLY THE SON OF KAISER WILHELM!?  Raine is a genius helf.  Eh...going with the helf here.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8) - ...neither has much plot power, though at least Charmles exists in the end of the game!  Banon can't have that much plot power if he just vanishes!  Charmles.
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7) - Scarlet.  Mogu....has no plot power.  Can't even FUUUUUUUUSSSEEEE!!!!
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4) - Edward.  Is...a prince who banged a hot chick (for a 16-bit era).  Roger gets stuck in CAGES.  He can lay land mines, turn himself into a fireball, fire lasers from his helmet...and he can't break a freaking cage.  That's not much plot power there.
Serra (FE7) vs. Healie (DW4) - Healie.  Becomes human.  Serra's not much on plot power at all.

Randi (SoM) vs. Lenna (FF5) - One needed a Sprite and Girl to help him save the world. The other needed a youth, a trap, an old man and a little girl to help her save the world.
Alternatively, one is a Mana Hero, the other is a Legendary Warrior. Heroes beat Legendaries.

Middle:
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX) - Guardian sounds a bit more impressive than beastman.

Etna (Dis)- Yeah, overlord level power is nasty. Plotly speaking, the Laharl trio was be able to beat Baal by themselves, and the trio are all equally leveled in Dis3, this would arguably put Etna to have the equivalent of 1/3 of Baal's power. This is NASTY.
Mithos Yggdrasil (ToS)- Yes, I am crying, hard.
Lady (SH3)- Toss out Weigraf from the formula, we might have a decent match.
Ashley Winchester (WA2)- Just yeah, Lord Blazer rivals Type Moon nonsense in terms of power, and Argetelhm is even nastier.

Heavy:
Ziggurat 8 (XS)- Hector is not Heavy
Randi (SoM)- Boring match, both should go a division down too.
Emeralda (XG)- Again, for Maria's power to work, it assume XG world has the same property as Eternal Sphere, which I won't put my money on.
Cherenkov (XS)- And Irvine is soooo light.

Middle:
Minsc (BGs)
Kevin (SD3)
Arche Klein (ToP)- Arche should be heavy.

Ziggy can bench like nine tons and uses AMWS-scale weapons by hand at one point. Having a big axe doesn't really compare to something like that, and I don't care if it is magic, all Xenosaga science is magic.

Maria Traydor (SO3) vs. Emeralda (XG)
Maria needs to touch things to turn them in to shit. Em just sublimates and disassembles Maria's molecules.

Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS)
Cherenkov was just a psychopath who had his brain wiped a bunch of times and then got Gnosified. So Irvine has this gun and shoots him in the forehead. This belongs in Heavy?

Middle:
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX)
SD3 plot vs Kimahri plot? Eh, I'll give it to Kevin just because he gets to change his class twice thanks to a magic god or something.

Arche Klein (ToP) vs. Zahaak (S5)
Who the fuck was Zahaak?

Rico Banderas (XG) vs. Raine Sage (ToS)
For all that he failed as a playable character, Rico was a huge badass in plot. He'd probably just throw her through a wall for fun, and because it looked cool.

The argument that was given to me when Irvine was postulated was: "He can junction Guardian Forces, something only highly-trained SeeDs (and a few random others in FF8) have been taught how to do. GFs are pretty badass in the plot." It was argued that if I put him in Light (my first reaction), that people would complain he was underranked due to this.

In reference to Hector: "Well, most of FE's cast are highly skilled or veteran warriors, which gets them to Middle. Hector seems a step above that." I didn't argue that at the time.

Am I missing something, by the way, or is Cherenkov's claim to heavy that he has a notoriously screwed up brain and turns in to a Gnosis when he gets touched just like everyone who isn't a stupid fucking cunt?

And as far as the trained warrior thing goes... everyone in Star Ocean 2 uses weapons made of anti-protons. Entire SO2 cast for moderate godlike?

As much as this strikes me as "wrong", it's not a -bad- argument. However, at most, I'd say it gets them Heavy as just having a cool weapon isn't enough for Godlike. Arguably, super-science weapons work the same as 'magic' or 'enchanted' weapons.

Comparable to a magic weapon like... the Ultimate B-Ball, which I name because I can't think of any other weapons they give to players that could destroy planets with minimal effort. Hitting someone with a stick made of anti-matter is like hitting someone with the Sun.

SO2 anti proton weapon is indeed insane, without Mirage's coating, those weapons can just collapse the universe just by being there. Mirage's coating limited the effect to a specific contact surface. So yeah, at worst, those weapon would cause big crunch like effect on the enemy it makes contact.
And this speaks more of how broken the Wisemen are, they have built in anti proton field generator..... He'll probably crush the entire division if wasn't because of Etna.

Indalecio (SO2) vs. Etna (Dis) - Easy
Siegfried (WA1,3) vs. Mithos Yggdrasil (ToS)- Doesn't the tear drop make him pratically unbeatable so I don't see why Mithos is getting all the votes here. Also synchro ability is a sexy thing to have. Dragon Sieg also wins this for he is a dragon and a dragon in Wa3 is pretty darn plot strong.
Wiegraf/Velius (FFT) vs. Lady (SH3) - A bit biased here due to gameplay reasons but Wiegraf is just a nasty fighter. Velius isn't bad either.
Feena (G1) vs. Ashley Winchester (WA2) - Knight Blazer is enough here. Feena can beat Gaia related things from what I gathered quite easily but when it comes to other types of enemies she kind of struggles.

Heavy:
Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS)- Why Irvine?

Middle:
Arche Klein (ToP) vs. Zahaak (S5) - You are all forgeting two simple things people. 1 Zahaak is a brilliant tactician. 2 He has the power of drugs on his side.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8)- Is not Banon. Also has money and a Kingdom.
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7) - Has slapping plot power?
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4) - Manly plot hype?

Feena (G1) vs. Ashley Winchester (WA2): Sure.

Heavy:
Ziggurat 8 (XS) vs. Hector (FE7): Even if you "scale" plot power, this seems straightforward enough.
Randi (SoM) vs. Lenna (FF5): Bleh, Randi can't do much by himself plotwise. Granted, Lenna's not too impressive either at times but at least the power of the crystals is pretty undeniable.
Maria Traydor (SO3) vs. Emeralda (XG): Nanomachines~
Irvine Kinneas (FF8) vs. Cherenkov (XS): Irvine.

Middle:
Kevin (SD3) vs. Kimahri Ronso (FFX): Both are pretty unremarkable, but this works.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8): Charmles has negative plot power.
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7): Brings in some high-tech weapon and goes mole hunting.
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4): Edward.
Serra (FE7) vs. Healie (DW4): Healie does something besides heal, even in plot? Serra is at least a bishop. Never mind what happens to this match with FE8 flavour injected.

Uh. Midgame Etna wins this easily (strong enough to conquer multiple universes vs. needs a Macguffin to destroy one), but the endgame version loses. Brilliant tactician I'll argue. As I said, he seemed to prove more that he was cruel then competent. Also, power of drugs? If he ODs on that stuff to the point where it would let him with a fight, Arche just flies out of his reach until he drops dead from it. <_<

Hell, unless I'm seriously misremembering S5, Zahak is not one of the Queen's Knights who got hype for magic, and plotwise anyone without ranged options vs. Arche is just shit out of luck. Flying mages are cheesy like that, just ask any D&D player.

Zahhak single handily sent a large region of Falena over to the rebels with his idiotic tactics. (Hay guys let's burn the town down, this'll sure get everyone on our side!). He is pretty incompetent in plot (and battle).

Rico Banderas (XG) vs. Raine Sage (ToS)- Rico was pretty strong in plot. Champion of the battle Arena could probably just throw Raine into some water.

Light:
Banon (FF6) vs. Charmles (DQ8)- not charmles, Plus Banon was a leader of the rebels
Mogu (BoF) vs. Scarlet (FF7)- Mogu had like no plot where he wasnt asleep
Roger S. Huxley (SO3) vs. Edward (FF4)- was going to vote Roger, but then remembered Edward saved you from Dark Elf. That and Roger loses to cages. Roger sees the harp, which kind of looks like a cage and then flees
Serra (FE7) vs. Healie (DW4)- lol Healie with plot power
