Games that still need topics/interest in topics.
« on: December 24, 2007, 06:44:08 PM »
Well, we have most of the ranked and popular unranked games covered after four years of stat topics. But still, there are lots of games out there and any new game can provide info, as can redone topics with more facts. Thus this topic. Is anyone interested in doing-

Wizardry 8 or 5 topics? You know you want to hype the Llama death god in 5 or the Corpus Cane Ninja in 8. Uno

Redone SO3 topic? OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I blame you.

FF4DS I'll get if I ever adjust my firmware/stop dying, at least for boss notes.

Tactics Ogre. Semi popular NR game, massive pain to topic. Anyone brave enough to do this?

Thousand Arms, never had a real topic done. Surely someone wants to find out how hype worthy Nelsha is?

XS1 Virgil is probably the biggest thing we're missing. Though I'm sure Dhyer has a longer list.

I don't really have a specific list of stuff that need notes so much as a list of topics that just basically need to be retooled with status/defenses/misc. items and formatting. If you go by that...it's a really long list. Although, we do need BoF 3 dragon notes.

I'm gonna try and take up Wizardry 7 at some point.  It'll be hellish, but the game's a favorite of mine.  I expect about as many interested readers for this as there were people who identified Brother T'Shober's intro on my last music quiz, possibly less, but I'll probably do it anyway.  If only to hype Lifesteal and massively good evade.

Also, rar superboss jellyfish.

Wizardry games are good for weird superbosses.

And Dhyer, post that list as well? If we're at all serious about making headway on the wiki thing, we may as well figure out how many games need to be revised/need new information.

I don't have a set list per se because the majority of stat topics are missing one of the big missing pieces of info (Defenses being the common one). The big thing that really stands out to me are Luna notes (which I will get once I can get my LSSC game back) and alternate dragons for Ryu.
Otherwise, it's probably shorter to back a list of basically full topics because we're missing a lot of info on buff duration from most everything. Right, Xenogears is also on my list (RNG removal), but that's a major pain in the ass and won't be happening all that rapidly.

Then get a list started and post it anyway. We can do it piecemeal over the break. Also get a list of which games are mostly incomplete or not done at all in spite of having 'topics'? I know Thousand Arms and Saga 2 are like that.

List for myself, at least:

Revelations: Persona
- Beautify, Pictures, Data on the rest of the people missing

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment
- Beautify, Pictures, Data on Nate/Ellen/Philemon

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits
- Beautify, Pictures

Shadow Hearts: From the New World
- Get Shania's non-Tirawa fusion stats

Xenosaga Episode I and II
- Beautify, Pictures, Get Virgil stats for Episode I

Xenosaga Episode III
- Need to post my boss notes somewhere

Other topics
- Post extra info you have and incorporate it (bosses for PS4, etc.)

Just the ranked stuff right now.

A lot of this is formatting...oh well.  Pretty is better!

If you do put in pictures, please make them relatively small (Some have been way too big. The ones in the TotA boss topic jump to mind).

Just a note, I've been putting a "To do list" at the bottom of my stat topics with stuff that needs to be done.  Nice to have a full list here or somewhere, but a small list in the topic is nice for anyone who glances through it and actually knows the info needed or is willing to get it.  Just a suggestion.

Granted, if you plan on getting this stuff out of the way right now, it's probably no big deal.  Most of my stuff is unranked games no one cares about so they'll probably have that list for years before getting finished.  >.>

Just a personal kind of request - the Growlanser games all have practically non-existent stat topics, would be awesome to see those touched up, not that it effects the DL whatsoever.

Been steadily pushing away at GL5, so I can stat topic that one, but the other 2 have already been started by someone whom I'm assuming already has an endgame save to work from?

Wizardry games are good for weird superbosses.

And Dhyer, post that list as well? If we're at all serious about making headway on the wiki thing, we may as well figure out how many games need to be revised/need new information.

Question: What's this 'wiki thing' that we may or may not be serious about, super?

http://www.rpgdl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page <--- This is the Wiki. People are discussing moving topics onto this for easier/more open reference. I'm slowly (since I've got major cramming for the exams in two-three weeks) trying to build an example topic with the Chrono Trigger data.

I thought OK meant that he was giving us the redone S03 stat topic for Christmas not that he wanted anyone of us to work on it :P If not I'll eat my hat >_> However if he does need any help I wouldn't mind working on the Peppita page for the wiki.

Edit - Oh yeah -  meant to say Suikoden Tactics - we have something on that already right? <_< I remember starting a topic a while back about which duellers people would rank if the game ever got ranked - I wonder if that's ever happening ;p

As I've stated many times in chat, I actually intend on getting the PC end of this stat topic when the game finally comes out here.

Why? Mostly cause I did EVERY OTHER FF4 STAT TOPIC and most of the tests for them already, feels like I'm kind of obliged too.  So yeah, I actually intend on covering that (and no, that reasoning isn't the only one, that's just a silly excuse <.<)

I can get endgame stats for all non-Haschen PCs in GL5, but I fed Haschen so many stat boosting items it's not even funny.  Main reason why I haven't bothered trying to do it myself.  If you're really willing to do GL5, I can help out with stuff if needed.

Talaysen -

You've already got endgame stats for everyone except Haschen? Well, I'd say go ahead and do the testing for them and I'll do Haschen once I finish it up.

I'm about 2/3 through the game, what would you say endgame level would be?

Also, I made notes of everyone's starting equipment and skillplates in case you're missing some.

I'm working on DW3r, as well as my end of FM3. Tide's end has all the mechanics, which will help. >_>

After that and my part of the SaGa walkthrough (on hold for finals, will be done after that), I will... likely post more about my view of Persona 2 characters! And then... mmm, I could finish up that MMX stat topic! >_> Uh. I dunno, I'll find something to work on.

Also also also. I'll begin compiling a list of topics that need more detailed status/effect of defense information. There's uh quite a lot of these, but you know.

...wait, Dhyer, you have that info? Post it here or PM it to me or something, I'll see what I can do from here. Persona 2 needs that info, too, I think, so two birds, one metastone, all that.

I actually don't have a specific list because the majority of games are missing something (Buff/status duration is a common thing to miss). I know a few of mine are still missing it too! If people want a full list, I can try to draw one up after I finish the S3 topic (Which I'm really, really hoping will be tomorrow).
