Keeping things rolling, here's Season 5 of the Plot Power Tournament.

Congrats to our champs! I honestly thought Ashley would beat out Emelious, but a last second vote swung things in favor of the Grandia boss. The lower-tier matches were nearly shut-outs, so hopefully the champs will have a good shot in their new divisions.
All champions will be upgrading to the next tier and returning for this season.

Lloyd (LoD) vs. Althena/Luna (Lunar1): Althena isn't a dragon, so Lloyd is nothing more than an accomplished swordsman. "God" trumps that pretty easily.

Miang (XG) vs. Terra Branford (FF6) - 30 MagiTek Soldiers versus a Planet. Huh.
Ridley (RS) vs. Nergal (FE7) - He strongly implied he was immune to fire. He also kicked a freakin' Archsage's arse, summoned and controlled a bunch of dragons and badassed all around Elibe.
Lloyd (LoD) vs. Althena/Luna (Lunar1) - One of these two moved people en masse from the Blue Star to Lunar, and one of these two people's power is implied to be all the magical energy in the world, and one of these two people has four dragons under her command who share her magical power and are bested only by the Magic Emperor when they are awakening and not at the prime of their power. ... Well, hi.

Heavy:
Zack Fair (CCFF7) vs. Cliff Fittir (SO3) - Kneejerking. Cliff Fitir is some sort of super alien, being able to supposedly defeat that one dude by himself... Zack Fair is also super human and supposedly slaughtered a whole army of SOLDIER before kicking the bucket himself.

Mia (GS) vs. Relm Arrowny (FF6) - Healer-on-who-an-entire-village-is-reliant... additionally one of few Adepts still out there... A-yep. Wins over the painter girl.

Razzly (CC) vs. Deneb (OB)- Deneb plays the fool plotwise but she's both extremely smart and able to create her own race of creatures. RAzzly is a Fairie. Yeah.
Taloon Torneko (DW4) vs. Jelanda (VP1)- Jelanda's a minor god but she's also a 14 year old girl who gets played for a dupe more than once. Taloon's one of Light's great minds, or at least great at solving puzzles. The right dress or the right threat should work here.

A SOLDIER is an enhanced human. Cliff is an alien from a planet with super-high gravity and atmospheric pressure and stuff. Peak human is nice, if you're fighting a human. We're talking about aliens who start out past that and just keep going.

Anti-protonic weaponry means that anyone any SO2 character hits one time will explode, unless they have a crazy forcefield doodad. Sufficiently advanced science is not only indistinguishable from magic, it beats the shit out of it.

Middle:

UNLESS Bart gets access to any of the following: giant robot, flying battleship, cruise missiles.

Cliff is considered better than humans, though his big advantage is immunity to certain things.  Zack is better than augmented humans (though not the best, he's near the top) and it takes a small army of modern troops to bring him down.

Alis Landale (PS1) vs. Selan (Lufia2)
I'm going to be different here.  Sure, Alis is just a runaway, she's also the original Algol Protector and first inheritor of Elcydeon, the sacred blade of Algol.  That gives her destined hero status, which is better than trained soldier plot-wise.  She also lives, whereas Selan wasn't going to live, period.


Middle:
Bart Fatima (XG) vs. Flik (Suikos)
Suikoden 1 Flik would lose this.  But the job he does growing up before Suikoden 2 changes things around.  As it is, not only does he face off a castle full of angry grunts with only one buddy and lives, he's the competant save your ass guy in the second.  Bart?  He's the semi-competant get your ass in trouble guy.

Mia (GS) vs. Relm Arrowny (FF6)
Mage-Knights and Psyenergy adepts are both big deals.  It's just that one is kinda funky and not really worth much anymore, while the other is a strong and useful tradition, when it exists.  And that gives Mia the win.

Miranda (G3) vs. Nanami (S2)
She got the same training from a small-time hero that the two mains got, and has the same kind of headstrong confidence that Miranda has.  Not to mention, she doesn't sleep with Alonso or try to hook anyone up with Alfina.


Light:
Jessica D'Alkirk (Lunar1) vs. Hix (Suikos)
Why all the Hix hate?  He's the designated next leader of a village of warriors, has some respect from their leader, and the love of his daughter.  That's not nothing.  Especially since even while he is pushed around and tries not to fight, he will do so willingly and eagerly when the stakes are right.  Of course, he's up against a combat loving, divinely powered, beast woman with a spiked club.  So, uhhh....  yeah.

Razzly (CC) vs. Deneb (OB)
Considering your choices on Deneb influence your popularity, this means that people care about her.  Razzly...  I guess the fairies aren't as happy if you don't rescue her?  But a province > insignificant fairy community for importance.  And this is before considering Deneb as a force for magical innovation.

Taloon Torneko (DW4) vs. Jelanda (VP1)
Sure, Taloon is craftier than Jelanda.  But you have to consider, she's a god, so people can't hurt her all that much anymore, and her favourite response when things go wrong is to make the offending thing go boom.  Something she is fully capable of making happen.  Besides, hanging out with Lenneth means that your character flaws get bought off.

Cid (FF6) vs. Puffy (Grandia)
Sure, Puffy can breath fire, but Cid can make mecha that can breath fire, ice, and lightning.

No, never, please read XG plot clearly. Miang appears in all women because Deus System has implanted Minag's code in all women that was born from Kadamony. In other words, unless Terra was born out of Kadamony in some way, she does not contain any Minag code, and Minag cannot posses her.

On the other hand, it does mean that to win, Terra has to single-handedly enact genocide against a population armed with much gianter robots than she is acquainted with. Also: she has brain powers, and Terra's not quite Kain when it comes to that, but nonetheless, her track record is pretty poor.

Note on Miang: I could see the argument for her to be able to take over any female character. In XG, the -only- females left in existance are the ones created by the Deus System... I can see extending this power to all include all normal humans from other RPGs. Not sure it matters against Terra, though...

Ridley was intended to include Ridley/Gold Dragon hype.

Alis was ranked Heavy mostly due to PSII/PS4 'legendary hero' hype.
Selan was ranked Heavy mostly for the scene where Lexis tests Guy, Selan, and Maxim's power levels, which turn out to be Over Nine Thousand.

Offhand, I'd say being possessed by a Demon Dragon and being possessed by a Ra-Seru are roughly the same in terms of plotpower.

Jelanda ends up in Light because even though she's a minor deity, she's a minor deity from VP, where Einherjar are plenty capable of being defeated by mortal beings - and she's not exactly the most durable of 14-year-olds... Not to mention her lack of brainpower... Magic hype I can see. 'Deity hype' seems misplaced here, but I'm not going to disallow it or anything.

I took just about every nomination that was submitted and didn't think I needed to change any of their suggested rankings. I also tried to 'include more variety', but it seems that fewer people are able/willing to vote as a result... Kratos vs. Alouette  and Shu vs. Canopus have -one- vote each... >.>;;

Kratos Aurion (ToS) vs. Alouette (LP:T) - Alouette is a chosen hero and all, but that makes her more Heavy to me, and her best powers tend to require great sacrifice on her part (and also involve things like putting people to sleep, getting into people's souls, etc. rather than sheer explodey).  Kratos has a will of iron to stop Alouette's mind games and is plenty old and also has explodey powers.
Miang (XG) vs. Terra Branford (FF6) - Miang vs. Female.
Ridley (RS) vs. Nergal (FE7) - From what little I know of RS, Ridley runs into Nergal's pet project here.
Lloyd (LoD) vs. Althena/Luna (Lunar1) - Uh...  true Althena is...  yeah, not Godlike and not really well defined.  Hard to say so we're just wildly guessing here.

Heavy:
Zack Fair (CCFF7) vs. Cliff Fittir (SO3) - Didn't play CC, but assuming they didn't really mess with the definition of SOLDIER, he should one-up Cliff here.  If nothign else, both are martial badasses, but Zack has magic and Cliff doesn't.
Alis Landale (PS1) vs. Selan (Lufia2) - Self-made hero vs. weakly destined hero.  Unfortunately for Selan L2 clearly indicates that she isn't quite up to Maxim's snuff as far as power, and I'm going to peg Alis as slightly sub-Maxim level, but not that far below.

Middle:
Bart Fatima (XG) vs. Flik (Suikos) - Assuming no GIANT CITY MECH, Bart is comic relief a little too often here, and additionally has no plot Ether backup.
Mia (GS) vs. Relm Arrowny (FF6)

I'll shoot anyone who dare to argue this. This would assume all other female in other RPGs are created by Kadamony as well, which is bullshit. This would also assume Kadamony has enough Bio Calculation Unit to install into all female in all multiverse to allow Miang to exists in them, which is even more bullshit, Kadamony's supply of Bio Calculation Unit is NOT infinite. Miang is no more than the evolve form of Kadamony's Bio Calculation unit under the influence of Deus (and Elly is the case when under the infleunce of the Contact and WE)

Niu: If Terra and Miang are having a plot power battle, then yes, Terra is descended from the humans created by Deus.  And never mind possession, Miang just uses her "hypnotize and order around" power.  The only reasonable argument I can see for Terra is that she's a half-Esper and that might give her immunity, except it clearly doesn't to a lot of stuff in the world of FF6, and in the world of Xenogears females who are also descended a bit from Abel (and thus less affected by the plague stuff in Disc 2) are also still totally susceptible to Miang (Hi, Elly).

No, as there is no evidence from Terra's game of origin that Terra is a Deus descent. "It's a plot battle" just don't simply override the original game's cannon plot line.
Deus did not create the human of FF6 world, thus Miang can't posses them, this is a very clear cut concept.
Miang can posses women not because they are women, but because of Kadamony's Bio Calculation units.
And Abel's descent are susceptible to Miang simply because they contain those Bio Calculation Units too.
Kadamony's Bio Calculation Unit is what calls what can or can not be possessed.
Abel's descent are from Elly, who contains Bio Calculation Unit most similar to Miang, no wonder their children are all susceptible.
But still, this proves nothing on whether Terra has those Bio Calculation units in her.
Unless you can provide evidence that in someway and somehow that Kadamony's Bio Calculation unit ended up in FF6's worlds and got into Terra's body, Miang can't posses her.

Niu's right, here. Miang's "possession" is the result of an extra gene written into humans on the Xenogears planet, and only the Xenogears planet. Miang can't turn Terra's hair blue any more than Sync would be able to stop her magic by sealing her Fon slots.
