Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Never Die may take far too long to get to the good parts, but at least it's not a SD3 boss theme.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Eyes on Me is blech

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Didn't get as cheesy at the end.  Closest match out of the bunch, at any rate. death to lyrics

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - Slaughter

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - ORA is lulzy but not much else

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Isn't mindnumbingly boring

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Not particularly close

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Nor is this

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) I disliked both, but I think Warring for the Heavens sucks less. So it goes.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Eyes on Me sucks no matter what. Next!
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Necrophantasia is kind of sort of okay. The love song sucks balls.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - Meh.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - ...
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) I like both tracks, but I really did the Ninja Gaiden remix. It's the same song and yet interesting in different ways than the original. It's my style or remix.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)

Pending the last one in an update.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3): The SD3 song is...rather discordant.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8): Unholy slaughter.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4): Oh, hell. Either one of these crushes everything else I've listened to so far.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6): I loathe the vocals in the latter, but it's still better than Mario music (for all that the opening guitar bit reminds me of The Big Yellow Joint).
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7): Amusing as the latter is, the former is something I'd actually listen to again.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64): Really nice interpretation and good at building tension versus Mario music.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5): I've never liked jazz, but at least it's a novel take on an unremarkable track.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3): Never Die has a few good parts and a lot of really freaking generic parts. Warring for the Heavens is Hightension Wire with WORSE SOUND QUALITY. I am impressed.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8): Oh good grief.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4): Oh good grief those lyrics on the FF4 one.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6): I'm both amused and horrified. Ending got no reaction at all.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7): Yeah.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64): Moderately interesting, if somewhat hit'n'miss vs stock orchestra.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden): Ooh. I like SSH, but Basilisk Run is the pleasant surprise of the pool to me. Very fresh.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5): Neat jazzy thing versus instantly forgettable.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - I just don't like that Cave Story song.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - I'm not voting for this because I nommed it, just so you know.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - I am not voting on either of these.......
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) Ha.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
Ugh, the guitar on Warring for the Heavens is ass. And Never Die is awesome and would win anyway, but even so.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8)
Photoelectron Mix is pretty generic techno-mix stuff, but the original tune lends itself fairly well to that. A hell of a lot better than freaking Eyes On Me does, anyway.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4)
Holy fuck, a mix that actually blends lyrics and music reasonably smoothly! Take notes, shitty remixers. Or just kill yourselves. (Note: I killed Tororian Love Song about ten seconds after the singer started because it was clearly downhill from there)
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)
Maybe if I could understand the lyrics, they wouldn't seem totally out of tune with the music? Meh, I love the SMW ending, so it'd probably slaughter anyway.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7)
I genuinely wanted to give One Ringed Angel the win here. It gets points for creativity and for making me laugh out loud (thankfully, in an empty office). Then Hellion Sounds had to go and actually be good.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)
In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony is....competent, but doesn't really do anything for me. That still beats the competition, which...I like it in theory, but somebody in the brass section needs lessons and it's way too repetitive.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)
Best match of the pool. It's an SSH mix of one of my favorite songs, which usually means "win," but people are right about Basilisk Run being surprisingly good, and it gets credit for shifting the song into a completely different genre with little to no conflict in tone and tempo. What the hell, let's end the left-side dominance.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)
Okay, now I get to vote for Decisive Battle. Despite this mix not flowing nearly as well as SSH's. Stupid awesome Ninja Gaiden song. Harvest Hoedown started out as a song I rather liked (albeit pretty similar to the original) and then quickly turned into something strange and unpleasant.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - I guess I'll vote seriously for the first impressive remix I've heard so far. I was all set for Eyes on Me deep emotional lyrics hype too~ ;_;
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Well, this isn't hard...because I nommed Necrofantasia, otherwise you'd be seeing Love Song lyrics hype~
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - Hehe. FIGARO SEDATE LOUNGE RAP is awesome, Richard > Snow yet again.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - Oh yes. Oh very yes.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Nostalgia hype~?
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Shiny~
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Snow's comment made me think this was something completely different.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Never Die had that -awesome- little part in the middle, but overall Warring For The Heavens is more solid and, to me, enjoyable. Never Die is just... long, and it doesn't do enough with that time, to me. (Seriously, if Never Die had kept going on that violin-like part, it would have won easily, but it moved off and never got back that coolness.)
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - ...First time I've heard the other song in any form, and while it's not bad, it definitely would not have fit in any form in FF8. This being said, the other one's a bit better.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - The former is... mediocre. Sorry, but yeah. The latter? Uh. No no no no no no please no lord no augh I have found my mildokryptonite.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - Wins by virtue of not having lyrics.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - Average vs. funny as all hell.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - When in doubt, jazz.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Eh.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Mmm.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Never Die is champ-powered
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - I am so freaking tired of Eyes on Me -- yes, even remixes of Eyes on Me. If I hear this song one more time, I'm going to shiv somebody. It also doesn't really help that the SaGa remix had me tapping my toes once it hit its stride.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Argh. I was actually going to vote for Toroian Love Song until the lyrics kicked in.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - This is one of the reasons why Hyadain is my hero.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - Oh, you better believe I was tempted to vote the other way.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Engrish = auto-lose
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Yep, this is definitely the closest match here. Both tracks are very good. Alas, only one of them can win, so....
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Meh. Can't say I was impressed by either of them.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Took too long to start, but once it did was much better than the jarring music of the second track.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Normally the vocals start in game music and I lose interest, but the song isn't so bad and it's frankly better than the frantic mishmash of the first song.  Rather blah for both, but liked the second one better.

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Touhou music is bad enough without adding japanese lyrics over the top.  And the FF song was very pretty, well, when you ignored the middle point where the fella with the off-key voice started to sing.  The instrumentals were nice and that's what wins it for me.

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - I dislike live recordings (the clapping sound is obnoxious).  Massively.  No contest.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - On principal, they both sucked too much to vote for either.  Normally, I like OWA due to Gate's machinations, but seriously?  Using a phone touchpad?  *shakes head*  And the first song was about the most generic-put-me-to-sleep boring song in this whole set.  No vote on this one.

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - As much as I dislike live music, having mario stuff played by a Big Band rox.  Much better than the first one.

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Very nice.  Love pipes.

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Dislike for midi sounds is strong.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Never Die is incredibly generic techno with a few decentish parts. However, Warring for the Heavens manages to outfail High Tension Wire synth (which is impressively horrible -and- a pity, since I love HTW's composition. With good instrumentation, it'd maul its opponent. But nooooooooooo).

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Morning Musume meets Eyes on Me. There is no god.

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Both are... well, I'm not fond of the vocals on the second, the instrumentation makes me "meh" on the first. But I'd rather vote on the song that doesn't give me eerie Hotel California meets Edward in a booze joint vibes.

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - Unlike Tonfa, FIGARO SEDATE LOUNGE RAP only horrified me. The Mario ending song was very uncreatively handled, but at least it doesn't open a black hole inside my guts to unceremoniously devour my liver and lungs.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - However, this one was hilarious alongside the horrifying. The Hellion Sounds song is GENERIC HEAVY-SOUNDING actionish song of whatever that goes absolutely nowhere, and something that amuses me alongside making me die gets my vote over something that evokes a pile of nothing.

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Superior instrumentation. Not terribly creative, but neither is the Mario song, and IMoSA at least has pretty solid and elegant quality in its arrange, while the opening theme is... just there.

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Decisive Battle is -hilarious- hair metal+'80s keyboard mangling off one of my nostalgic boss themes, and gives me serious memories of the epic SYLVIA VS. MEGAMAN video. Those things are good ways to get points with my cheesy half. However, Basilisk Run is just very well done and honestly pretty elegant, and its instrumentation touches my good places. No regrets voting this way - and I don't even remember NG's original song!

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - A nice, jazzy, if somewhat dissonant piece of a boss theme I like against a pack of deranged children using their mothers' silverware and pots and pans to play on Barney The Dinosaur's Death Orchestra. Um. Yeah?

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - Ker-SPLAT
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Much better, once it gets past the opening jumble.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Love Song takes too long to get somewhere that's not even that impressive once you're there. Necrofantasia is generally awesome.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) I don't object to vocals as a general rule, but I do not like the sound of the singer's voice in the FF6 one.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - Argh. I like the Actraiser song, but One Ringed Angel is just too funny.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Nothing much to say.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - ARGH. I'd vote Basilisk over everything else in this pool, and I'm voting against it here. Man. Deserving winner, whichever one goes on.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Easy.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
--Never Die's not bad, but kind of long.  Warring for the Heavens makes SD3 music sound WORSE.  Which is an impressive feat.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8)
--I don't honestly hate Eyes on Me myself, but that mix isn't good anyways.  Battle #5's alright.

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4)
--Ahaha~

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)
--As above, so below.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7)
--Fuck yes.  Best use of a phone EVER.  (Also, Tsuyoteki isn't very good.)

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)
--The lack of big band hype makes me sad.  Granted, both of these are good so I can't complain too much.

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)
--I was going to vote for S.S.H., but you know what, screw it.

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)
--Meh.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
Wow...  it's like SD3 music with worse instruments.  Didn't think that was possible.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8)
Again, the one on the right seems to be somehow less from the transition.  Possibly because it sounds horribly overproduced in a type of music I like less anyways.

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4)
The Toroian Love Song does NOT need seven freaking minutes.  Especially when the opening is a pointless two or three minutes.

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)
Oddly solid remix of a decent tune, which makes it better than one of Hyadain's middling efforts.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7)
Deserves a win.

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)
Guess which one has a permanent spot on my playlist.

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)
Of the new tracks, this is definatly the one to beat.  If Sir Tony makes it this far, it'll be interesting to see which one I vote for.

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)
I don't really see anything hoedown related in that remix.  But a jazzy boss music is fun.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)- Warring for the heavens is total and absolute shit.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8)- I feel obligated to vote for the game I nommed, though the Saga mix is excellent.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4)-
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)- I really like Figaro's theme, what can I say?
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7)- Just a heavy metal remix of Actraiser music? Good enough to handle a gimmick song.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)- Not close.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)- Always disliked Decisive battle. NG music is solid.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3): Meh to both. At least Never Die wasn't bad.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8): Both sound like they should be in DDR. I actually kinda like Eyes on Me, but this version's not as good, and Battle 5 was pretty neat.

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4): Solid if underwhelming j-pop vs.... well.

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6): Bah. I should have put in a pool just to get better Hyadain in.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7): lulz vs. boring.

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64): Close matchup, but have to go with the big band.

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden): Here's to not choosing sides! I'll get back to this one after some thought.

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5): Meh.

Wow.  I didn't think I would end up this cynical about arranged music.  I definitely liked some of the tracks, but it seems my taste in music is not the same as the DL noms so far, apparently.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
What the hell happened?  Raiden?  RAIDEN!  Never Die is boring, Warring for the Heavens might be okay for a dive bar live but for a recorded version please don't use the rough cut of your guitar.  At least the tune was recognizable and okay for WFTH, but fail-off.
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8)
WTF.  We have the choice between generic techno and generic techno remix that takes a song I actually like (no, it's not bad) and actively makes it boring.  Toss both into the pit.
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4)
Holy crap good music from Touhou, where I had low expectations considering I wasn't really a fan of most of the Touhou stuff in the previous contest?  This is actually a *good* technoy type song that doens't completely mail in the percussion and is interesting.  Crushes the previous drek by a mile.  The FF4 song actually has some mild merit, and I might consider paying the cover at a bar the guy was playing in, but it goes on a bit long and it isn't really my style.
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6)
SMW tries too much here and puts on a 20s vaudeville show by the end.  On the other hand I really dislike the style of singing in Figaro Castle, though the random chimes in the background are cool.  This is actually easy, no way to that singing, though I suppose it's competent for what it is.
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7)
Actraiser has a great beat behind it and starts solidly, but it stays there.  I'm not going to fault it too much because it's still good, but it missed some potential.  One Ringed Angel is worth a smile.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64)
IMSA is...  solid but strangely uncompelling.  I like it, I like the original tune, and I like some of the changes he made...  yet I'm not feelin' it as much as I should for some reason.  That said, I like big band, I like brass, and I don't like the SMB piece, it's a yawner.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden)
Cooler.  They're both competent, though nothing special.  I like Basilisk Run's weirdly layed back feel.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5)
This is really really easy.  Fragmented Floor and the Touhou track are the best ones here, I think, and the ones I'd listen to again.  Honorable mention to One Ringed Angel and the FFT In Memr'y track.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3)
Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - NO
Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - NO REDUX
Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - HYADAIN beats out arranged music of something i've grown bored of
Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - The amount of laughs I had out of listening to this gives this a win.
Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - I... I really like big band very, very much. The level of bias here is just too much for me to really make a fair judgment, because I seriously found the other piece pretty good too.
S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Very close here, as well, but NG music. Against Decisive Battle.
XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Remember my implication on DB? I take that back here. Yeap. Also, I like the jazzy...ness?

Never Die vs Warring For The Heavens - Not really a big fan of High Tension wire at the best of times, and this version is missing the instruments that make it passable. I don't care much for Never Die currently, but I could see it growing on me, so let's send it through and see what happens in that regard.
Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix vs Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) - When it comes down to mehishness versus mehisness, decent vocals cause winning. To be honest I don't even remember any vocals in FF8...
Necrofantasia vs Tororian Love Song - Whoever nommed Troian hates us all
Ending vs Figaro Castle - Hnn. Ending is nowhere near as hoppy as its regular self and loses a whole mess of points for that, and Figaro's vocals are tuneless enough to not so much add to the track as detract from it. Going for Figaro because it did at least have Figaro backing it up, and some things started falling into place near the end so I want to see if my opinion changes at all by next round.
Tsuyoteki vs One Ringed Angel - Formidable doesn't have all that much going for it, but Ringed is a major disappointment considering what some people have been saying about it here ;_;
In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony vs Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme - Anthony is unmemorable. Mario isn't a shining example of excellence but it's decent.
Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones vs Basilisk Run - Both of these are pretty dandy but Decisive is just a tad more compelling.
Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- vs Harvest Hoedown - Fragmented is nice and fast, but it comes at the expense of the tune. Hoedown's nice and easy on the ears aside from the opening and a similar section around halfway through, that's enough to take it through.

Cave Story Remix Project - Never Die (Cave Story) vs dasaten - Warring For The Heavens (Seiken Densetsu 3) - I'm not THAT big a fan of Never Die, but the SD3 mix is not appealing at all.

Best of Shape - Battle #5, Photoelectron Mix (Saga Frontier) vs Faye Wong - Eyes on Me (Almighty Mix) (Final Fantasy 8) - Good vs not

Sync's Art - Necrofantasia (Perfect Cherry Blossom) vs silent - Final Fantasy 4 Tororian Love Song OC ReMix (Final Fantasy 4) - Yeah I nommed this mainly to see reactions.  It isn't winning and that's fine, Necro's great too, but the power of soul compels me to vote for it anyway.

Nintendo Super Famicom Game Music - Ending (Super Mario World) vs Hydain - Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy 6) - tries harder.  Both are okay but Hyadain's doesn't really mesh as well or convey the feeling of "we are having fun with this piece of music" Ending does.

Hellion Sounds - Tsuyoteki (Actraiser) vs Jildon - One Ringed Angel (Final Fantasy 7) - These are both awesome, but One Ringed Angel has the original track playing very faintly in the background, which I think detracts from it.

Disciple of the Mix - In Mem'ry of Sir Anthony (Final Fantasy Tactics) vs Mario & Zelda Big Band Live CD - SUPER MARIO 64 Opening Theme ~ Overworld Theme (Super Mario 64) - Ow ow ow ow ow the big band is horribly out of tune.  Sadness!

S.S.H. - Decisive Battle with the Looking Ones (Metal Max, Final Fantasy 6) vs Vurez - Basilisk Run (Ninja Gaiden) - Both good.  Basically genre bias on my part.

XL Project - Fragmented Floor -sense of 6th- (Final Fantasy VI) vs DJ Orange - Harvest Hoedown (Final Fantasy 5) - Hoedown was shaping up nice but then it just played the original melody verbatim, same instrument and all.  What's up with that?

Edit - Left side!  Left siiiiiiiiide!
