So, depending on your views, Terra either decides against genocide of the entire Xenogears planet... or discovers she's susceptible to a new kind of mind control. Althena wins her match in a landslide victory, so I wouldn't be surprised if Lucia's matches have similar results...
In Heavy, the closest match was Ashton vs. Vahn, but poor unlucky Ashton -just- missed the victory. Maybe he tripped and ended up possessed by a Seru?
In Middle, Relm got only a single vote, so I wonder if all the complaints about her being in Light were unjustified?
And Light gives us the closest match of the week - Cid and Puffy fight it out in an epic fail-off where the cute puffball eventually torches the poor scientist to death. Or perhaps he brought him some poisonous fish?
Jessica wins a landslide victory against Hix - is Hix truly weak... or is Jessica just a spoiler?

Please vote for who you think would win according to Plot Powers (In-story Hype, Abilities only used in cutscenes, Spell Animations, etc.). Generally, we are voting on end-game characters, but you may take a character at the peak of his/her plotpower as well.

Concerning the most recent debate on world-specific plot abilities:
I will leave this up to the discretion of the voter, but it seems to be an argument of how you see the various plots connecting for the sake of the duel. There seems to be two ways of looking at this (feel free to chime in with alternatives): An "Amalgamated World" theory where all plots somehow exist concurrently on the same planet, thus giving all characters access to their 'home field advantage' simultaneously; and a "Dimensional Travel" theory, where all duelists come from different dimensions to gather in some neutral location and neither has a 'home field advantage', leaving open the question of whether or not a certain character's full plotpower works outside their home world.

Your call, unless you all think we should vote on this, too...? (Might be a relevant thing to vote on for a Plot Power Tournament...)

Fei Fong Wong (XG) vs. Lyon (S5)
Is Jesus, or God, or something along those lines.  Whereas Lyon just gets a tempermental lesser god in her hand, and it's fairly lethal when she does.  Heck, it's not even a proper true rune.


Heavy:
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5)
Balamb SeeDs are a big deal.  They even expressly state in a few places in game that GFs used by Balamb are much more powerful than anything else used in the world, and that they're pretty unique in using them.  Of course, later on you also find out why they're not in general use, but it's more than enough to beat anything short of a true rune.

Rei (BoF3) vs. Viktor (Suikos)
Has a talking sword that can cut any barrier?  I don't recall either of these really having plot power.

Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1)
This match is much better.  Although, assistant to a Goddess > Destined Hero with a funky sword that doesn't really do much else.

Meru (LoD) vs. Lance (Brig)
I don't recall Brig being that high on plot power, whereas Dragoons are awesome and what not.  And isn't she a winglie as well?



Light:
Mist (FE9) vs. Josh Kainz (PSII)
Greil Mercs are automatically badass, survived the end of the world when it's heavily implied that personal power is how one does that, and is one of a very few people strong enough in Order to not be driven insane by the Dark God.  Compared to...  I forget if he's the biologist or the mechanic.

Poshul (CC) vs. Blank (FF9)
Dog vs. Vaguely impressive actor.

Chiepoo (S4) vs. Rattata (PKMN)
Chiepoo starts off with the edge, but then Rattata evolves into Raticate and it's all over for him.

Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5)- Squall's generally portrayed to be a solid fighter, but I don't think it's enough to trump a fairly hyped cursed rune.
Rei (BoF3) vs. Viktor (Suikos)- Rei gets a fair deal of plot hype for Weretiger, even if he's inferior to the likes of the Brood.
Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1)
Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig)- Promoted monsters are absolutely terrifying, but.. plot is not there. You can draw some implied plot by the leaders/uber units having the promoted fighters but eh, no. Not buying it.

Middle:
Gordon (Dis1) vs. Delma (AtL4)- Delma is a light.
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Roan (G2)- Anise is not competent.

Kyogre (PKMN) vs. Alex (GSs) - Alex... is just a manipulative bastard, really.  He can teleport, but that's pretty much the only thing he does that sets him apart from the other Adepts.

Luke fon Fabre (TotA) vs. Ashnard (FE9) - Ack.  Hyperressoance would certainly get around Ashnard's damn armor to me, but I don't give Luke much credit for control over it.  Eh.  Ashnard is kind of an idiot, and Luke eventually matures, so I'll use brainpower as the tiebreaker.
Fei Fong Wong (XG) vs. Lyon (S5) - Lyon does not have a true rune, never shows any sign of being particularly good with her rune, dies, etc.  She's a low heavy vs. the Godkiller.

Heavy:
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5) - Badass who controls GFs, takes down evil sorceresses, etc. vs. cursed.
Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1) - Don't you get kicked out even if you upgrade twice?  Well, whatever.  Since this was originally supposed to be de-powered Lucia way back in Season 3, I'm going to assume that Max is not a complete doofus and his chosen hero powers can carry him through.
Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig) - Abstaining for now, but as I don't feel so bad about voting for games where I'm not familiar with half the participants in a plot power tourney....  if others say that Lance is moderately competent, this should probably be his.  Meru is comic relief, and non-Rose/Dart Dragoons aren't THAT godly.

Middle:
Gordon (Dis1) vs. Delma (AtL4) - Fail-off.  Going to go with Gordon who at least his high technology to work with.
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Roan (G2) - Roan tries hard and is dedicated, but his claim to fame is being a prince.  That's not really any guarantee of combat competence.  Anise has a killer doll and is a Fon-master guardian at the age of 13 and was trained by the best out there.  Going with the aspiring future badass.

Light:
Genis Sage (ToS) vs. Carol (WA5) - Just like to say that Genis isn't bad for Light.  Half-elf, scores the highest on the little quiz thing with the teacher in Palmacosta, etc.  But don't know what Carol has up her sleeve here.
Mist (FE9) vs. Josh Kainz (PSII) - Mist is actually competent via plot, if undertrained.  Sure, she's only starting out with Rhys's instruction on the side, but by the end of the game she's not bad at all.
Poshul (CC) vs. Blank (FF9) - Not a random purple dog, has some personality, is not built up by plot to be completely incompetent.
Chiepoo (S4) vs. Rattata (PKMN)  - Finds a Pokeball or something.

Luke fon Fabre (TotA) vs. Ashnard (FE9): Ashnard is perfectly fleshy under that armor. There's gotta be a nice little hole in the faceplate for Luke to vaporize his head through.

Genis Sage (ToS) vs. Carol (WA5): Prodigy fight! One also happens to be one of his planet's greatest mages at age 13.

Lucia finally gets a decent fight! She still beats holy sword hype, I think.

Anise is at least a spellcaster and an official soldier of some stripe, although a thoroughly incompetent one (and, as it turns out, chosen as a guardian for reasons totally unrelated to her ability to guard people). Roan's got no plot combat power at all that I recall.

Light:
Poshul (CC) vs. Blank (FF9)
All the members of Tantalus have at least basic combat competence.

Luke fon Fabre (TotA) vs. Ashnard (FE9): Snowfire sums up my thoughts here well enough. Decent fight for Low Godlike.
Fei Fong Wong (XG) vs. Lyon (S5): Twilight Rune can kick some ass, although it's not clear Lyon ever masters it in the same way Sialeeds does (better than Alenia though). Lyon herself is also a very accomplished assassin and fighter. But Fei has nebulous, quasi-divine powers which I think trump Lyon well enough.

Heavy:
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5): The extent of Ernst's plot power is "is a leopard". Um. Big cats are cool and all, but I don't think they're plot power Heavies.
Rei (BoF3) vs. Viktor (Suikos): Mmmm... close. But in a pinch, more respect for the Star Dragon Sword than the Weretiger. Could go either way on this one.
Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1): *shrug*
Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig): Is happy we don't scale plot power, and benefits from the LoD cast being generally more impressive than a cast of simple war leaders.

Middle:
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Roan (G2): Doesn't have the plot power of being... well, it's not proper for me to use the term mentally retarded.

Light:
Poshul (CC) vs. Blank (FF9): Oh what the fuck. Dogs with some intelligence > untrained humans, sure.
Chiepoo (S4) vs. Rattata (PKMN): And to finish with an easy one, cat >>>> mouse.

Kyogre (PKMN) vs. Alex (GSs) - Alex is a Mercury Adept, so has some control over water. Alex, meet the personification of Elemental Water. I'm thinking he'll try and control Kyogre, fail, and run the hell away before he gets SMASHED.
King Mickey (KH2) vs. Asellus (SaGaF) - Allowing Full Mystic Ending. Charm Lord Asellus is gonna be hard to top.  
Fei Fong Wong (XG) vs. Lyon (S5) - Contact vs. Not Quite A True Rune.

Heavy:
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5) - Either loses to the winner of the match below.
Rei (BoF3) vs. Viktor (Suikos) - True Rune is a Big Deal, even when it's in sword form. And Viktor gets FAR more plot hype for being a badass warrior then the gameplay backs up. Think he can take Rei.

Re: Relm in Middle - Well, consider the number of upgraders in the actual DL, in ANY division, who get beaten their first match in the higher division despite cleaning up the one below. If that happens in the actual DL all the time, are you really surprised about it happening as well in a plot tournament? Just because she does not belong in Light, doesn't mean she's going to automatically beat whoever she runs into in Middle. Relm in middle is now dealing with actual competition, so yeah, she CAN lose. The fact that she did doesn't suddenly invalidate her victories from last season's Light pool.

Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1) - Still needs to go up two divisions.
Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig) - Dragon-wannabe pile-of-crap versus an actual dragon. Hmm.

Kyogre (PKMN) vs. Alex (GSs) - Well, Kyogre's the legendary beast of water that sends the entire world into a drizzle for so long it'll make everything flood over. Last I checked, Alex's not going to beat the Legendary Beast of Water by his lonesome.
King Mickey (KH2) vs. Asellus (SaGaF)  - KING MICKEY HYPE.
Fei Fong Wong (XG) vs. Lyon (S5) - Lyon'd hesitate to unleash the Rune's full power all at once. Fei taps into Id and sends Lyon flying.

Heavy:
Squall Leonheart (FF8) vs. Ernst (S5) - I love Ernst a lot, but turning into a sweets addicted Leopard doesn't really box up against trained military veteran.
Rei (BoF3) vs. Viktor (Suikos) - Viktor argues with his Star Dragon Sword, Rei changes into Weretiger and goes omnomnom shred. Viktor cries, and dies, Rei runs off with the Sword and gives it to Ryu. Ryu proceeds to thomp things.
Lucia (Lunar2) vs. Max (SF1) - What use is your Holy Sword against something that wipes out an entire tower with ease/no effort, and consequently uses the power of LOVE to combat pure hatred? Nothing, that's what.
Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig) - I know Meru, but never played Brig. Darnit.

Middle:
Gordon (Dis1) vs. Delma (AtL4)
Pogo (LaL) vs. Chuck Preston (WA5) - Hunters had pretty tough requirements for becoming one. Medium hype works a bit here as well, as opposed to some caveman kid that thumps a T-Rex. Okay, cool. But not as cool as someone with a Pile Bunker badassing around the world, saving humanity.
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Roan (G2) - Anise would hit on Roan. Roan has an army at his command, managed to survive by his own in the wastelands, and ultimately ascended some tower, fighting alongside Tio against monsters of monsters. My respect for Anise is just terribly low. Go play with dolls, kiddo.
Neimi (FE8) vs. Volg (Shining Tears) - So want to hype Neimi but isn't she pretty unimpressive?

Light:
Genis Sage (ToS) vs. Carol (WA5) - Genis can't do anything on his own. This is stated pretty clearly in Tales plot. He cannot move when casting spells. Carol doesn't need to move, she has homing missiles that fire from anywhere on the board. Good luck with that, Genis. Additionally, Carol travelled around by herself, having been taught combat by a Sentinel and everything. Carol hype works here, pretty good too.
Mist (FE9) vs. Josh Kainz (PSII) - Don't know Josh.
Poshul (CC) vs. Blank (FF9) - Is competent, not a dog, and doesn't lisp.
Chiepoo (S4) vs. Rattata (PKMN) - One of these is a merchant, the other is a violent murdering pet.

Kyogre (PKMN) vs. Alex (GSs)- POWER OF THE GOLDEN SUN! Anyway Alex has this in the bag yes. Do you think he'd actually fight this pokemon? He'd find some way to beat it, like getting the unbeatable lord of the sea (Well there is one way to beat him...) to beat Kyogre for trying to be bigger then him.

Gordon (Dis1) vs. Delma (AtL4)- Gordan has this easy. The greatest hero earth has ever produced simply can lose for its against his defender of earth code. He will smash this everday villain Delma and claim his victory.
Anise Tatlin (TotA) vs. Roan (G2)- Roan has an army and handle himself. That scene in the down also makes me lean towards him. Holding off Valmar minions also makes me lean towards him as Valmar minions are quite scary plot wise.

Meru (LoD) vs. Lance/Salamander (Brig)- Dragoons are badass.  Also, fighting a Dragoon with a dragon is dumb >.>

Gordon (Dis1) vs. Delma (AtL4)- Delma's... not bad, but Gordon's CAPTAIN GORDON, DEFENDER OF EARTH!
