Consider, if you will, one Ned Flanders, seemingly normal victim like any of the rest of us. Perhaps he has been listening to the advice of one Jason Foster and donned a Mardi Gras mask designed to be the exact opposite of his personality. He spends his time yelling wildly in the streets, but his meaningful contributions to the sinister celebration are limited to voting for inactives. What Mr. Flanders may not realize is that, by the rules of this twisted party, no one can cease celebration for 24 hours without being escorted from the premises, thereby making his voting pointless at best...and a mask displaying helpfulness at worst. Combine this with a reasonable answer from Ash, and you get

##Unvote: Ash
##Vote: Ned Flanders

However, Mr. Flanders may be spared retribution for his sins by further twisted party rules - thanks to both police enforcement and fire safety codes, one of the partygoers must leave, or everyone's buzz will be killed. Attention is thus turned to Elizabeth, Queen of England, who has done herself no favors amongst the other guests. Her time is perhaps slowly ticking away, and, if necessary, her fellow party-goers will call a taxi and have her inebriated mind chauffuered home...to the Twilight Zone.

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!! I'm sorry I'm sorry I had a mission from Across and my beloved Il Palazzo-sama and I was just too busy trying to take over the world and then when I tried to use my persocon I knocked it over and it caught fire and I was like AHHH NOOO! so I sprayed it with water but then it started rolling and then I had a rori-con and-

##unvote, goodbye joke vote, fare thee well into the great unknown *cue sad music*

Reading through all of the data..
Built for logic? Evil? Me? And the finisher, where he at the same time states that I'm suspicious, that he has no case or evidence on me and that he doesn't expect this day to be about me without actually doing anything with his vote. If you think I'm stupid enough to work with the planet eaters, let's see some proof for me to refute so it won't be last minute. If you don't, use those much-boasted, flavorful skills of searching out the true demons instead? And if you think I am the demons and don't feel like either looking further nor getting others to buy your case, I have to question your sanity.
Interesting reaction; evidence on day 1? And I thought I was crazy..

You expect that dumb bitch to be able to count? Or make sense? I would question her whole "Hey Dude, let's wait for the Queen. Eff that, I'll vote her to what I think is -1 anyway! YOU GUYS make sure to let her post or it's on your head, not mine! Bye for a while AGAIN!" She's shot to the top of my secondary votelist, really. The Queen's got nothing on her.

By the by, Roddy. I see why Ned might be suspicious, but is it really worth a vote at this point?

The voting process. The Swiss Army Knife of our little game of life and death. It can be used for a variety of reasons and it even has the power to end life. It is man's duty to be responsible with handling it, lest he accidentally stab himself or his fellow man.

Questions such as the one posed by Ash, therefore, are legitimate concerns. If one does not know how to handle is Swiss Army Knife, perhaps it is better off taken away from him, as you would a small child that got their curious hands on one before they inject the corkscrew into their eye. However, Ash need not worry. While lynching to avoid No Lynch is something everyone must be properly prepared for, the number one priority in voting is to hunt scum, which is why one small blade is now pointing in Mr. Flanders's direction. When attendance is not an issue, as it will not be today, there is no need to change the blades of priority. Rest assured that this hex key will tighten the screws of the Queen's demise if and when necessary. In the Twilight Zone, that time may have already passed, but here on the moon, it has not approached yet.

And Rod, I didn't specifically mean Queen. I also meant Death, but doublechecking the votes I suppose there was no one else I could have meant. Point taken, but I think we can agree to disagree at this point.

... this. You're really making my head hurt, man. Could you please just, at least, fucking... pretend to make some sense. Or lower your voice. It's like a fucking chihuahua on speed. And what's the reasoning behind placing a vote at this point when all you've said in attack of Lizzie is "I agree with the Dude but also think he's being too hasty"? Are you really suddenly that concerned that Liz might not get her head blown off? It's not like we need the six votes to make her swing, you know? She'll fucking... she'll die anyway. All I can think of as a kind of reasonable justification for that is that you're worried about either Death or Ned, who I'm pretty sure were the only two assholes at the moment within a vote of Queenie. The only ones who'd probably end up winning the vote-contest if Queenie didn't.

But this is some tricky shit, man. If I follow this logical process to it's, you know, it's fucking conclusion, I've gotta think Excel is one of these Planet Eater fucks. And given who she's voting in order to protect (in my, you know, in this analysis), her Planet Eater buddy would be either Ned or Death. Shit, maybe both, three doesn't seem entirely unreasonable in a group of eleven. So that makes a kind of sense to me, right? Except at the same time it seems... way too easy. Shit, man. Fucking shit. What the fuck is going on here?

These are our concerns, Dude. You're right in that it seems way too easy. I'm really hesitant to keep my vote here, but in all honesty this kind of behavior can't go uncalled, or unpunished. Otherwise you're left holding a bag of dirty undies, Dude. Should Queenie continue her questionable behavior I'm all for her lynch, but this aggression will not stand.

I'm just... you know, it fucking concerns me too, because I'm thinking about the number of situations like this I've seen. (You know, sort of... uh... metaphorically. Less the on-the-moon-with-planet-eaters specifics, obviously). I'm thinking about them and I'm trying to remember the last time shit like this resulted in outing an actual scum instead of just nailing an idiot townie. I'm extremely fucking cognizant and respectful of the philosophy that this shit can never fly, because the time you let it is the time a Planet Eater gets off scott free... but, god dammit, it's hard for me to get behind my own hypothesis here. Weigh in, people. Miyagi? Yangus? Any of you other wanks?

And the reason why lurkers lurk is shown once again. It is clearly to avoid making spectacles like the hyperactive freak. 'Take over the world?' That's a stupid villain plot if I ever heard one. And I did. Many, many times over. If Excel is not a planet-muncher, she's clearly an enthusiastic copycat, a sympathizer to their cause. We can't let that stand.

I don't really have anything better to do than have flashbacks of crappy movies as I wait for time to run out, so I'd like to hear from Yangus, first. He happens to be voting Queeny, and I'm curious to see whether he would reveal his true colors the same Excel did, or remain hidden in the shadows, which tells us much as well.

(I really should not be here right now, but wanted to at least give Crow some time. I kinda need to drop the mask a lot here, as I don't have access to my Khan quote dump and need to do this fast)

I missed nothing of your speech, tin man. I considered it fairly both ways, but could not see it justified with the joke vote left standing.

Your unceremonious rebuke in misrepresenting me serves you badly. That my case on you is not closed means simply that (it is after all only the first day, and it was to my error to assume that such a complete case would exist to begin with at this point), not that I have 'no case or evidence' on you, my vote remains for as long as it has meaning, and it should hardly be surprising that one expects the majority to single out the quiet in lieu of a major slip, so no, unless you're going to suddenly drop your contract with the planet eaters I don't see this going anywhere until tomorrow (you're in a similar position with the foul fiend Death, so it's striking that you would make an issue of this). Even the great Khan worries about being consumed overnight, though, so it would be foolish to hold on to cards that long.

Let me make my points again, this time not giving you the luxury of claiming you couldn't find them or misrepresenting my tone to mean something else.

1) First post suspiciously conveniently timed just after the heat was turned on. 20 minutes to write one line is baffling.
2) Second post non-committal, misrepresents flavor text as meaningful, and has waited until both Mr. Miyagi and Mr. Flanders have voiced concerns in my direction.
3) Seeming inability to pull actual meaning from the flavoring. (If you guys think I'm being obtuse, I'll tone it down, but I think I'm being clear enough)
4) Defense in the face of Death is justified, but unfairly compares yourself with "The Dude."
5) Observations were incredibly shallow given post density. Majority by weight is/was sheer defence. (I'd say that they're still not very broad, but I'll concede that this is probably the case for most if not all of us.)
6) Continued misrepresentation to drive my case off as stupid and baseless.

No, I'm far from convinced that this paints your weak yellow frame black, but I am certain this has not bore me baseless concerns. I will be looking elsewhere, but you shall remain in my field of vision.

I simply must return to searching for my own way off of this planetoid, and so lesser concerns can wait until my true return, but while I'm here I shall take special exception to answer those concerns voiced directly at me.

Hey Khan, took you long enough to say something meaningful. You sure blather on a lot for someone who rails against flavorposting. I'm keeping my eye on you.

I have never took offense with flavor posting, as should well be evidenced by my own speech. My offense is in the ignorance of being able to read through the flavor to the actual meaning and using that diction against them as if it should be read literally. It would be like rallying against "The Dude" for being uncivil in his choice of language (as history shows us, after all, villains will often be uncivil to knock the innocent off-balance), which would be nothing short of madness.

I'm a little un-fucking-nerved by Khan's inex-fucking-plicable lack of placing Excel on his list of suspicion, man.

Haste makes a beggar of even the greatest of men, as evidenced here. You are correct, this is a clear factual error, and Excel should indeed have found a place on my line of scorn. Recent actions put her above the minor queen in my preferences for sending to the gallows, and should reconsider the current value of this spat with the tin man.

If the little queen does not show up by my glorious return then she will draw my scorn in favor of the others. If she does, then Excel's flailing stands out the most of the options on the table.
It is better to rule in Hell, than serve in Heaven.

No respect for spendin' a bit of time in order to do right well in this thinking thing.  Mayhaps the Guv would be a bit quicker about it, but I'm the one who's 'ere to be doing it.

Now, seein' as the only thing people 'av to say about me is that I don't talk much, there's not much I can add to that.  But, I do 'ave some things to say about the rest of ya.  This Excel skirt, I can see why she'd get some attention, flailing about like that.  But my nose don't twitch fer her, making me think she might be on the up and up.  No fault for those who do see something funny, but, I jus can't feel it meself.

This Ash bloke, though, does make my nose twitch something fierce.  E's all strutting about talking about how we should go after the folks who ain't talking like, even as all 'e really does is say that or go after the noisy targets, or blokes who've already got someone on their 'ead.  It don't seem right that someone should be using all that noise to say nothin jus to try and go after the folks who can't say nothin.

As for this Serling bloke, I'd just like to offer my apologies.  We got off to a right bad start we did, and with you all going and finding a reasonable thing.  I've been looking at this Flanders fella, and all 'es been doing is hiding behind 'is church and usin' that to say why 'e don't vote, or even talk bout much more than why he don't vote, or why he ain't a planet eater.  Even 'is votes are just there sos that we don't vote him on account of his not takin a stand.  And, as much as I don't like the old geezer, all she's done is not explain her self and act a bit crazy like.  Flanders 'ere has been talkin a lot, and saying less than I 'ave, and that's impressive.  Impressive enough for this, really,

Language. There is perhaps no weapon more powerful for mankind than what he says and how he says it. When used incorrectly, it can devastate friends, family, even entire nations.

Submitted for your approval is Excel, potentially the most recent victim of a misunderstanding via incorrect word usage. Her erratic actions have drawn attention. Is this attention justified? To best answer this question, it is best to look at not only what she responded with, but what she responded to.

Exhibit A: An important line from The Dude.

Does anyone have a problem with getting rid of Queen Liz right now?

Reading this statement and Excel's reaction to it carefully, one can see where confusion may arise. Human error can be attributed to mixing up the intention of removing the Queen immediately with merely asking the immediate surrounding audience their opinion.

Exhibit B: The same important line from The Dude, but slightly tweaked.

Does anyone, right now, have a problem with getting rid of Queen Liz?

A simple two-word shift. All that is necessary to clear up confusion.

As for Excel's quick turnaround, it is plausible that she did not realize the deadline was fast approaching. Another simple mix-up, and a null tell at best.

Clarity has always been key to avoiding misunderstandings. Word choice is powerful, but it is still a double-edged sword. If a man is not careful with it, he may find himself without his friends or family, and if he climbs even higher up his own wall of text, he may just find himself trapped...in the Twilight Zone.

She knew. Not to mention she goes back against herself in the same post. Whats suspicious, again, is that she warns against us lynching until Queen responds, then slaps a quick vote on there to alleviate any responsibility that might result from it, ESPECIALLY since she's thinking that it's the -1 vote. It's like pushing someone everyone hates all the way to the edge of the cliff and saying "Don't push her off now!" Did she give the last push? No. But she sure as hell put her there.

GRANTED, she didn't really give the -1 vote, but she meant to.

As for Yangus, Death WAS talking when I started going after him. He even made a post or two afterwards, but we've heard nothing out of him since then. Yes, my posts on Excel may be a bit reactionary, but whats wrong with pursuing scummy behavior?

Well, yeah, that's... uh. Nicely put, Rod. I respect your rhetorical acumen, man. Your second version of my phrase is closer to my actual intention. So, yeah, point taken about how we need to be fucking careful about what we say.

Don't really get why you feel the need to step up to bat for the kid, though. I don't know, Rod. I'm all for clarity of fucking expression, but the more I think about the less it seems to me that you're a big proponent of it. You're pretty much the poster child for dragging a simple point out into twelve meticulously fucking constructed sentences.

... and as Ash (or whoever he may be, cough cough) says, Excel made it pretty clear that she'd noticed the deadline. So basically I'm stuck wondering what the fuck is the point of this argument of yours, man?

No Queeny so far, and Death is allowed to survive. And how does that even work? The mind boggles, breaks, grinds into powder.

There also seems to be a move to Ned instead of Excel and Queeny, and I'd prefer to expose the latter's vile associations first out of this selection.

And that's tha thing, see?  Excel noticed it when she made 'er edit, and not thinkin' she'd be back, made a quick decision in case other people changed their minds, or other things happened.  Life ain't so simple an all that, so her vote might make the day.  Also, Ash, I didn't think that Death feller was one o' the ones you went after cause he weren't talking.  He's the one you went after after someone else did, and yer vote for him is the one good thing I can pin to you.

Language. There is perhaps no weapon more powerful for mankind than what he says and how he says it. When used incorrectly, it can devastate friends, family, even entire nations.

...Stop me if you've heard this one.

It is quite often that those who don't think highly of their own intellect have the best things to say. For example, take Yangus, who has correctly completed the puzzle by stating that Excel did not realize the deadline was approaching in her initial search for edge pieces and only noticed the second time around.

These missing words only serve to demonstrate how powerful language can be. If Yangus had not found them, further misunderstand may have occurred, and their meaning could have been lost forever...in the Twilight Zone.

<->

Accountability. Another one of man's powerful tools. In this case, likely too powerful to be ignored by those it may come back to haunt.

Consider Ash v. Excel. Ash has claimed that Excel is trying to shift accountability away from herself in claiming that people should wait for the Queen to post before lynching her. A bit of a stretch, as it implies that, should the Queen be lynched and flip town, Excel would appear again the next day and claim the lynch was not her fault because she warned everyone not to lynch before the Queen posted. Were this to happen, then Excel would deservedly be the target of ire, and she would gladly be welcomed into the Twilight Zone, but no one can vote without being aware of the accountability they would hold should their vote target flip town.

In fact, one can theorize that Excel has already acknowledged this issue of accountability by being willing to vote for the probably lynch candidate many hours before the deadline, while knowing full well that she will not be able to return to change her mind if necessary.

Miyagi not believe Queen Elizabeth-san best choice if speak up. Want this known.

Ned-san response to Miyagi question: for now is enough. Miyagi still wonder why Ned-san thinking vote on Miyagi then was 'pressure vote', but willing attribute for now to Day 1.

Khan-san say Miyagi first speech 'disturbing'. Miyagi want know, "Why?" Cannot work with accusations if not laid open on table. Closed box cannot be seen inside: thus, must open box for all to see what inside. When seeking planet eaters, Miyagi thinking best we not hide thoughts from others.

Miyagi problem with Ned-san not only for break tradition. Miyagi problem with Ned-san for point fingers, yet place no vote. In post after Miyagi, Ned-san pointing finger at Khan, yet no placing vote. Is like telling someone is crook, but not want arrest crook.

Miyagi more have problem with Ned-san for inattention. Ned-san saying he having problem how "I'm not liking too much that the two quiet guys casually voted for Khan", again not pay attention to Serling's vote for Khan being jokevote.

Then proceed vote for Miyagi, say Miyagi too quiet. That Miyagi have one vote, not enough pressure, when vote on Miyagi was joke too.

This all making Miyagi more worried of Ned-san. Queen Elizabeth-san not talkative, but more worried of much speak but say nothing than say nothing at all. ##UNVOTE: Elizabeth

##VOTE: Ned Flanders

Miyagi want people open eye: Ned-san saying to Queen his content good, but Ned-san done nothing but talk of "lurkers", and say little of Crow-san, Khan-san or even Queen-san, when enough could be said of them. Elizabeth-san need speak more, yes, but Miyagi more worried with Speak Lots, Say Little.

Mrf. Okay, it's a fair counter-argument for Excel. It'd be much better coming from her, but I'll bite for now. I don't see whats so bad about pursuing it though.

##Unvote: Excel

Both Ned and Queen haven't shown up again today, so they're on equal ground at this point. I'm not looking away from Death or Excel, but if this is what it's going to be, then I'm going to look over their posts and then see what they have to say, if possible. I have to leave work at 5 and I'll be gone until right near the deadline, if I get home on time. So if I catch something egregious I'll vote before I leave. Otherwise, I'll vote when I get home.
