310:  I propose an amendment to Rule 207 such that it reads as follows.

Every participant on the board has one vote.  All of the penalties and bonuses associated with voting for purposes of playing the game will be reserved solely for those participants designated as players.  Finally, the votes of players will count as three votes for determining if a measure shall pass, but will count as one vote for purposes of determining penalties and bonuses.



Reasoning: We just discussed the metagame, and why we don't want to be ruled by it.  So, let's make the metagame completely useless by letting everyone vote.  You now have no idea how the invisible masses will go, if they'll care, or anything else like that, and that means you can't vote such as to take advantage of sentiment in the topic.

On the other hand, not only will figuring out the score be just as easy as always, but our votes counting as triple worth for deciding if something passes means that if we really want something, we'll be hard to impossible to outvote, which means that control of the game will remain in our hands.

tl;dr version: LET THE LORD OF CHAOS RULE!

Hm. Theoretically, this proposal intrigues me and I wish to learn more. Just, in practice, I have no idea if it'll be useful at all other than letting the maybe three people who check this topic outside the players vote, which will be about as productive as watching paint dry, considering the scale of things. It'd be mostly cute, but I'm somewhat apathetic to something that's just... cute.

I'm not sure there's -much- to change. This proposal's success or failure is entirely dependant on the outside public, and its effect is... well, we'd have to pass it to really be able to infer how it'd interfere with the game. Its fine prints are mostly out of our grasp as of now.

Y'know, VSM.  If you're just going to sit back, not really participate, and get an easy ride off the rest of us, we can do things to screw you over.  It wouldn't be hard, and there's not a whole hell of a lot you could do about it.  Right up to and including sticking an exemption for you into the rule that hands out easy points.

Proposal 311: Change the text in rule 210 to "At no point there may be more than 35 mutable rules."

This isn't actually what I really want here, but it's a way to kick up discussion on the matter of reaching a mutable rule limit. I feel like there needs to be a way to unclutter things once that limit is reached, since the game's pacing is already glacial and having to deal with this once the limit is reached will be... well, unwieldy. So, pack your suggestions and ideas, since I'm all for picking up something to make this flow.

Simple enough. At the game's slow pace, it's not really THAT hard to keep up with the new rules. You have more than enough time to look over things as it is, so upping the limit is fine with me.
