Snow!  This is a golden opportunity!  Let's draft up a small, yet thoroughly rediculous constitution by which all visitors to our thread MUST abide!  There's no rules for non-players yet so it's all good!

I suggest we start with the clause that all of their posts must consist entirely of Beetle's Lyrics.

But Rat, I come up with the interesting proposals you like.  You getting a personal voting block that guarantees you choose who wins is good for me.

So why shouldn't I tempt you?   ;-)

The other players will clearly work against more mod intereference, perhaps stripping me from my duties!

That's right!  Although you may get a larger voting block, the power to set the agenda is still ours!  And that power can never be taken away without our consent!

Yes!

It is worth noting that my function in this game is only implied, and never explicitly stated in the rules! You can absolve me of responsibility!

Since there's no rule prohibiting me from posting (and, indeed, a rule that says anything not explicitly disallowed is allowed), mind if I chime in as well?

I'm so going to vote for proposals. Appease me! Send me offerings! Bwuahahaha.

Rat, correct me if I misunderstood the rules. :P

Actually, may I try something entirely different for this turn's proposal? I just had an idea and I want to see how this goes.

Proposal 311 - Once all the players have had a turn in a single round, the non-players mass gets to make a proposal of their own. The proposal is to be made by a single member of the non-players and this will happen in a first come, first serve basis. Non-player proposals -can- be sent to the Judge for relaying at the Voting phase of the proposal immediately before the non-player proposal phase, however. In this case, if multiple proposals are sent, the proposal to be voted will be chosen by the Judge's discretion. The non-players -will- get points for their proposals, as well, and they may win the game if they fulfill the game's winning condition. Also, the non-players will be known as "Big Unruly Mob TM" in the scoreboard.

===============================

So yeah. Let's kick this trainwreck up a notch.

Won't that slow down the game a good deal?

I have no idea, honestly. Since I gave the proposal veto to the Judge, and he can do whatever he wants anyway regarding them, I figure it won't slow it down too much (he can simply pick them with a diceroll), and honestly, the fact that non-players actually have a say somewhere seems to have already spurred interest that quickens the game's overall pacing. And since there are also time limits on all phases, the slowdown can only go so far. I could include a clause that limits the total amount of accumulated proposals and a clause that dictates what happens if no non-players make a proposal, of course, which probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Given that The Judge is a position that only appears when JUDGEMENT is called for, I think this needs some revising.

I highly support this idea and will spend the next few days coming up with the trainwreckiest proposal of all time.

Jo'ou's revision... could work, if he insists on proposing it. If you're going to have both posting and mail-in, it's kind of redundant and pointless, because if any non-player cares enough about the game they'll mail it in ahead of time. So you either make the mail-in first come, first served as well to take things out of the hands of the mod.

Wouldn't it be a great deal less confusing if you go like,

307. "xxxx" is a player

For example if member "xxxx" wants to gain points? I know when I at first wanted to join the game as well Carth told me that the players would need to pass a proposal to get you as a player, so rather than giving "the mass" power you can just single out members of "the mass" and uninvisibilize them.

Because otherwise you get "the mass" vetoing their own proposals and that's just whack, or one of the mass ruining it for the rest or something.

Who wants "less confusing"? That wouldn't be as much fun.

A thought occurs. If you're going to allow non-players to earn points, you'd best phrase it so they can earn points for their proposal only. If they could earn points in all the ways we can, each individual no on a yes or yes on a no got points for the non-players, they could win in one or two turns.

Or, since all us faceless masses are counted as one faceless mass for scoring, count a majority of "yes" votes as one "yes" and a majority of "no" votes as one "no" for the yes-on-a-fail/no-on-a-pass scoring.
