You people have unleashed a monster.  I approve.  And will also be looking for ways to screw with your game participating in the chaos.

Sopko, at present the Big Unruly Mob have not been given player status, and the 10 point rule explicitely states that only players who vote like that get any points.  Now, if we were to incorporate the Big Unruly Mob as a player, then it would obviously be as Shale suggested.  It would be a separate body whose vote is actually what the majority of them choose it to be.

Also, I am pleased by the turnout of my proposal, and am glad that so many people are getting the chance to sample this game.

Well, you'll be rather screwed though if we decide not to like your proposal. :P Accomodating the needs of a few is easy, accomodating the needs of a large, unruly mass that votes as it pleases since it doesn't personally suffer the drawback is... Ew.

Will our votes be counted individually or placed down as "Unruly Mob" being one player and the combined majority of our votes? Since it is a player, it'd need to actually vote, wouldn't it...? Or am I thinking too obscure here?

It's not a player, though! Unless there's a rule that makes it one. As it is, the mob votes individually (with each non-player getting 1/3 the vote weight of a player when it comes to passing a new rule), but gains points as a gestalt entity.

I definitely think we need to have "Add the Mobb (collectively) as a single player" proposal.

Haha that would get so confusing, though! You'd have the mob as a player determine by majority, but you'd also have each individual contributing a lone vote as well? I don't even know how the wording would go.

I still think we'd have to each get a single vote though. I mean, come on. The only way the mob would make any difference otherwise would be if the votes between players are deadlocked at 3 yay 3 nay.  The members of the Mobb should still get individual votes.

For the purpose of scoring however, after the proposal has been done and passed/failed, count the Mobb's votes collectively for deciding whether or not we're considered a Nay or Yay for the 10 points afterwards.

For example:
AndrewRogue - Yea
EvilTom - Yea
Excal - Yea
Jo'ou Ranbu - Yea
Sopko - Yea
VerySlightlyMad - Nay

MOBB
Ryogo - Nay
Hal- Yay
Bard - Nay

that'd be (3*5) + 1 = 16 Yays, (3*1) + 2 = 5 Nays. And since the majority of the Mobb voted Nay, the Mobb gets 10 points for being a Nay, along with VSM

Yeah, but snow's proposal would be the one that really mobilzies the Big Unruly Mob as a force, and would YOU vote 'yes' to one that limits your individual power? ^^

We've already been mobilized as a force, it's just that we have no stake in the game as we can't win or lose - we're simply an element of chaos. This would give us some incentive to actually contribute constructively rather than just "gee, let's see how much we can screw around with the game."

Ryogo: That's more or less what I was thinking. Majority of the Mobb determines whether we're a Yea or Nay vote for the purposes of scoring, but everyone votes individually.

The mass has been mobilized. You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha... Ha... Ha...

But yeah, I'd probably vote in favor of it. Need to see the ruling first...

I would not be in favor of anything that diminishes the voting power of the Mob, especially to that of a single player.  If anything I'd like to move us up to at least half votes instead of thirds.  And my personal preference would be to remain as an agent of chaos rather than become just another player.

All those are really valid points, and I wanted to work on the proposal as we go through discussion. Also, all this chaos makes me warm inside. So! A few polishing edicts to the proposal!

EDIT: Eh, screw that. Let's make this simpler and elegant.

Proposal 311 - Once all the players have had a turn in a single round, the non-players mass gets to make a proposal of their own. All non-player proposals must be sent to the person in charge of game logistics (currently Carthrat) for relaying at the Voting phase of the proposal immediately before the non-player proposal phase. If multiple proposals are sent, the proposal to be voted will be chosen by the logistic person's discretion. The non-players -will- get points for their proposals, as well, and they may win the game if they fulfill the game's winning condition. Also, the non-players will be known as "Big Unruly Mob TM" in the scoreboard. Effectively, the non-players will become a competitive gestalt entity in the game, which follows different slightly different scoring mechanics than the individual players.

PROVISION: For voting powers, each member of the unruly mob will be counted individually. However, for scoring purposes (say, when needed to decide whether it'll gain or lose points from proposal votes), the Unruly Mob's point gain or loss will be decided by the majority of the votes sent by non-players (ifor an example, if seven non-players voted on a given proposal and four of them were "yea", the Mob will be taken as a "Yea", and gain ten points if the proposal fails).

PROVISION 2: After the unruly mob's proposal has been voted on, all the mob proposals sent for that turn must be made public by the game logistic handler, just before the next turn starts.

I'd also put that non-players must follow all rules players do when creating proposals. I think they might be able to make any kind of change they want.

I dunno, I think that the unruly mob can stand to have a little more freedom with the rulemaking than the players do as a sort of balancing scale, since they have less power. The finer prints of -how much freedom they get- is a bridge that'll need crossed, I agree, but I don't find the idea of non-players and players following distinct rules offensive. HOWEVER. There's an amendment to be made:

Proposal 311 - Once all the players have had a turn in a single round, the non-players mass gets to make a proposal of their own. All non-player proposals must be sent to the person in charge of game logistics (currently Carthrat) for relaying at the Voting phase of the proposal immediately before the non-player proposal phase. PROVISION 2: After the unruly mob's proposal has been voted on, all the mob proposals sent for that turn must be made public by the game logistic handler, just before the next turn starts.

AMENDMENT TO THE PROPOSAL: The person in charge of game logistics cannot participate in the making of proposals for balance's sake.
