That's a little too tilted towards gaining points.

Also, how about you make the mob point gain there vary in some way that makes Carthrat do math each time, VSM?

You mean make an equation or something?

I could whip something up tomorrow, if there's time.

Sure or something random. Something MATHY. We have math majors here, get them to help make you something evil and yet doable for Carthrat.

Meh.  Rules that only serve to piss Rat off are boring.  We could have so much more, and all you guys want are equations?  I could piss out a dozen right now, all of them guaranteed to annoy Rat to high heaven and back.  Still wouldn't be interesting.

Rat irritation is it's own reward. It's just like a good deed!

In general to avoid the fate pointed out by Excal, you'd need to make the points granted variable in some way.  pi+number of posts in the game day+(total posts in topic/27)-number of player votes against, for example.

You need a variable coefficient for pi!  Also needs more i.  Only fitting for the Mob to get imaginary points!

Sheesh.  I know annoying the Rodent is a noble cause and all, but this is getting ridiculous.  There needs to be more amusement factor than just making the Rat punch numbers into a calculator.  I mean, we won't even be able to see him getting frustrated!

Yeah. At the moment I'm inclined to keep my silly arbitrary number. And I'll spend the next cycle thinking of who I want to annoy next.

Mod Note Read This

In news that some of you may know, I'm heading off for the weekend and won't be around for the next couple phases. Alex has graciously agreed to supervise for that time, so toss votes and such to him instead of me until I get back~

three things

one, if we're really going for random annyoance, i volunteer this formula:

(negative if on the wrong side of a bill, positive if on the right side)(((5!/no. of voters)*(total word count of voter's posts/total word count of all posts))+pi or e or some cute mod)

encourages activity and takling, gives a reason to discourage voters (granted if the mob disappears suddenly the first part's too big), encourages people to try to vote with how it'll go, which means the mob can cause surprise upests.

two, since i actually don't agree with random annoyance unless it's amusing which formule aren't, i'd really suggest something like excal's rule or something creatively amusing to all involved

because while i like the concept of this game it still has the issue of being about as interesting as frozen pepper

Apparently nobody cares about silly arbitrary numbers. <_<

Also I'm fairly sure we should have a voting phase soon, seeing as the last person before me posted over two days ago.

Yeah, that's true.  Sorry for not doing anything about this over the weekend, but I've gotten a grand total of 0 PMs from anyone, so...?  If I could get the final proposal to be put up for voting, that'd be fabulous.

I'm back, and it's the long-overdue Voting phase, wherein VSM's lamer proposal is on the line.

313. Mob members that vote, that also voted in the majority of votes where the mob was eligible to vote, will receive 6.749 points.

Aw, man. There was no provision for non-players' points to count for anything! What downside did this have for anyone not named Carthrat, I ask you?

Honestly, it was neither useful or entertaining, which means it's no good.  However, it isn't even good at what it was made to do, given that Rat could easily side step that pathetic piece of law, which means it wasn't worth giving points to the person who proposed it.

What Excal said, basically.  I mean, even if he kept the crazy numbers instead of assigning a letter value, all he has to do is grab a calculator.  It didn't do -anything-, for actual usefulness or hilarity value.

I think at this point it's official moderator.  But yeah, saying judge means that you contradict a rule with a smaller number which means you accomplish nothing, unless that rule changes.
