Facial Hair! (Enormous poll)

I got to thinking about this. Today, since I've been really sick, I spent my time having dry heaves this morning instead of actually shaving. So I'm rocking the perma-stubble. Now, I generally prefer a good, clean-shaven face, but the reaction to my perma-stubble has been alarmingly positive. I'd have thought for sure it looks like shit, but what do I know?

What about you guys? How do you like facial hair on you? On others? What's the IDEAL amount of facial hair for a man to have? Some? None? A shitload? Let's all discuss beards!

For myself, I feel unkempt and generally less attractive when I haven't shaved in the last 24 hours, so yeah, Bondish it is.

What I've taken to is probably some form of goatee, although I'm not really an expert in the terminology.  More than this bothers the crap out of me, partly because there are parts of my face it doesn't come in but largely because it itches terribly.

I grow stache (slowly, so very very slowly) purely out of hate of the feeling of stubble there and the feeling of shaving.  Tend to shave for funerals or when travelling though (so was cleanish shaven for DL Con, yeah that was like 2 weeks growth by then, soooo slow).

Eh, a beard is one of those things I'd like to have, but it doesn't seem I'm meant for.  I'm sure the Elf could comment on my past attempts in that field.  So I generally spend these days wandering between stubble and clean shaven since both work reasonably well.

I've taken to liking the stubble.  Makes me look rugged, and shaving once a week is much, much lazier than shaving once a day.  I'd like to grow a full beard but my complete inability to grow an accompanying moustache makes me look... leprechauny.  But it depends on the person, obviously.  Some people should grow beards, some people should under no circumstances do so.

There are many noble and beautiful permutations of the male human's facial hair. I myself have checked "Beards" in the poll, as I consider it somewhat all-encompassing. In addition, a full beard can be shaped into any number of more discrete, specific styles, even to the broad categories of mustache and sideburns and the many variations thereof. That said, I'm somewhat distressed to find "Goatees" occupying a position of higher esteem than "Beards" in the eyes of the group. Uncool, guys.

I've been growing out my own beard since November 1st. I was kept from engaging in Octobeard, which I rather enjoy, and so am undertaking my own personal Novembeard journey instead.

I should also note that a worthy mustache is an exceptionally magnificent thing. I believe that men who grow fearsome mustaches have a responsibility - to themselves and others - to sport those manly lip-bristles.

Stubble or clean-shaven. Primarily because my facial hair doesn't grow after a certain point, it corkscrews and becomes impossible to shave. This being said, I'm a lazy bastard, so I don't shave more than once a week unless I remember to.

Depends on the guy. I love men hairy, but I hate neckbeards as they're normally never kept up and let me know that the male is a sagging pack of lazy bones.

Eh, in my case it's more the fact that hair only grows on my lip and my jawline.  Any real attempt at a beard falls short when you notice that my cheeks end up notably less fuzzy than the rest.  Which isn't a problem when the entire thing is short, but prohibits anything longer than half a centimeter.

On the other hand, if family trends mean anything, this does mean I'll have hair on my head until five years after I die, so I think I'm very ok with that trade.

Y-yeah, that's what I'm afraid of. Also having a beard would make me feel old. I used to have a moustache but I shaved it off some day and I thought it looked smart, so I kept shaving it. Then a beard but no 'stache is just weird so I shaved that off the moment it reared its ugly head.

I sometimes consider growing a beard but then I'd feel too old.

I like beards, and I like not looking like a freaking five-year-old girl. But, in practice, my constant is closer to a stubble, since I shave once every ten days. It even sorta looks like a beard, my facial hair grows fast and evenly. I just get bothered by it once I go past the eight-nine days mark.

I prefer being clean shaven, but laziness compels me to have a goatee sometimes. I shave in the mornings and am generally in a hurry so I typically do a quick job and shave it off sometime later. I do like being clean shaven more than having facial hair, though.
