Cid, Corwin also voted for Fnorder, before I did actually.  It's just a bit hidden.

And....  Kilga has just shot down my main reason for delaying.  Two scum for one townie makes no sense.  It'll be interesting to see if he has anything to say.  But my suspicion of Fnorder is down, and Cranbud looks worse than Shale.

##Unvote: Mad Fnorder,  ##Vote: Bobbin Cranbud

Yeah, that line of logic shoots down any fears I had of this being a scum trick. Plus Yakko's claim is believable in flavor and balance, and Cranbud has been in the "online members" window at least twice since Yakko called him out and has posted nothing to dispute any of Yakko's information. Not good.

##Vote Bobbin Cranbud

I'd move, but at this point I'd hammer, and I'm not sure we're 100% ready for it.

...Accurate update!

Bobbin Cranbud (5): Yakumo, Strago, Kilgamayan, Excal, Shale
Excal (1): Otter
Mad Fnorder (1):  Corwin, Excal
Kilgamayan (1): Bobbin Cranbud
Shale (1): Taishyr, Strago

With thirteen alive, it takes seven to lynch.

There are 23 hours until the deadline.

...well, this is interesting to wake up to. Mmm. Definitely trusting Yakumo more, seeing as how he wasn't on my suspicion list at any point thus far, but do want to hear what Bobbin Cranbud has to say, to pile voices onto the choir.

I'll address Shale when I get back, but the summary: yeah, people probably trust your intuition/gut more than the bot's. Firstly, it's Hatbot. Secondly, if what you've learned in past games is to let other people vote at critical junctures? Then you need to spend more time editing fashion stories written by Meeple x Niu's love child. Doing that is... simply, no. Even ignoring Kilgamayan, it seemed like you suspected Nitori more. But...

##Unvote: Shale For now. Please understand I will continue to harangue you in long, overly lecturing tones, because this still does not add up for me in any way. However...

##Vote: Bobbin Cranbud.
IGNORE IGNORE

I want to see you talk, I'd love to see something resembling a defense so I can look at the cases with a bit more detail, and, well. Yakumo (I think? Who posted the "Bobbin investigated VSM, learned the role, and began defending him?" theory?) posted a perfectly plausible reason for your stalwart defense of VSM, who I'm... somewhat confident is town? ... so the weights fall on you. Speak, or forever lie in pieces.

And now, to study before my final. Augh.

EDIT FOR POSTING: What the hell, so many posts while I'm typing? No vote for Cranbud yet from me; the votes on him right now should be enough to force him to say something, I'd hope (he's almost at hammer, it better be.). I'll look back in soon. Blagh.

That was actually VSM himself, as he was also telling us the rest of his role.  It's a possibility, certainly, but not one I thought of.

Okay, I know about the theory. In theory, you trust the vote of somebody you know to be town, including yourself, over the vote of somebody who you're not sure about. That's good play. But in practice? I. SUCK. AT. THIS. Okay? I'm not sure how to put it much more clearly than that. You know how many idiotic votes I've cast in decisive or potentially decisive rounds since I've started playing this game? The number is LARGE. Read FFT, where my misplaced suspicion helped force the doctor to roleclaim in addition to everything else I did that was stupid. Read PW, where every single suspicion I had after Carthrat died was wrong. Read WoT, especially the part where I got Excal lynched and sealed the game against town. The next time I am on the right side of a close vote will be the first. So no, I don't trust my gut, and I can't think of a damned reason why you would want me to. My gut is full of crap.

I am... waiting for Cranbud to confirm or deny and want him to roleclaim. Current sentiment is that given Yakumo's claim, he could be onto something, given that rolecop could be on either side, and Cranbud certainly looks the worse of the two; I've found his posts to generally seem to stifle discussion (for instance, the last one was tacit support of VSM not voting, which I think is kinda off). Normally there is a lot of 'if x is town, lynch y' hate. In this particular case I believe it has some merit given the odds of two rolecops on one side (combined with the other two information roles we have. Metaing? I guess, but I feel it's valid here.) VSM's theory is pretty interesting, and on a related note, his role suddenly looks a lot stronger as far as controlling lynches goes.

In any case, ##Vote: BobbinCranbud

(Relevant Cranbud Post: http://www.rpgdl.com/forums/index.php?topic=268.msg2460#msg2460)

Fnorder didn't have any thoughts on me, either. I feel lonely and sad. He has a bad gut feeling on Corwin which I invite him to analyze in a useful fashion. Thoughts on Kilga is that he doesn't come back to his analysises or the like, and they *are* pretty much rehashes. That does pique my interest, given that they were also at a time when lynching and taking on lurkers was the done thing (moreso than taking on people with a decent amount of posts.) I also continue to find Kilga's discussion of metagame information bizzare. (aggregate metagame information = zero! I like that one, I admit.)

A fairly large number of people, as far as I can tell, are worried about Sopko. He's had two posts today, only one of which says anything concerning suspicion, and very little was said there, too.

Sorry. My sleep schedule's been reversed so I've only really been awake during the night.

Uh. Yeah, looks like hammer was made. Crap. Shale was looking bad, Cranbud worse. Cranbud's been on my short list for a while since the defense of VSM, but I guess that doesn't mean much now.

For Fnorder: I kept the vote because I thought there was a chance the roleclaim was a bluff. Simple as that. I was wrong, and as we've seen, this hasn't exactly been my game. (They can't all be WoT...)

Oh. No hammer. I guess I can add something on Cranbud/Yakko that I didn't notice being said. If they're both scum, it works out rather well. However, the planning for this would be rather elaborate so there is a low chance of that. But there is a chance.

I agree with Tai that we need to hear Cranbud talk, so I'll withhold my vote until then.

Well... at this point, it looks like I don't have much chance of survival one way or the other. :P

I am in fact a Rolecop: specifically, I am Ponder Stibbons, Token Sane Person of the Unseen University, and keeper/interpretor for HEX.  My rolecoppery is apparently the opposite of Yakumo's: I can only investigate those I have precise data on already, specifically their location - i.e., only those who haven't done anything that night.

I investigated Otter on Night 1, Strago on Night 2.  I don't want to tell the results lest they inform Scum, but If pressed I'll reveal, with the caveat that I'd rather say Otter's than Strago's.

I'm most sorry about not participating today; trying to keep updated and formulate a defense (or offense against any other targets, for that matter), has proven impossible, since work has been *very* busy, and under the circumstances, the last thing I wanted to do was make another disastrous mistake like I did at the end of Day 2.

That claim would worry me a bit that we might both be town, except... that just seems pretty worthless.  It wouldn't pick up cops, docs, framers, rolecops, and I'm guessing a Godfather would be immune.  So, I just don't see the point of that power existing, really.  You can tell VSM's telling the truth, or figure out who's vanilla... but not a whole lot else.  Guess it could pick up bombs or Masons if we have them.  Not thinking of anything else off the top of my head...

I assume it's set up this way for symmetry; you can't see the roles I can and vice versa.  In addition to the usual bomb/beloved princess/mason/bulletproof passive-type roles, I'm probably meant to spot limited use power role types, if we have any.  One- or limited-shot docs, raisers, docbusters, etc.

With that said, your ability IS considerably more useful.  If Town is absolutely insistent on killing one of the two of us, then off me; hopefully my flip won't drag you down, too.

Well, that means it picks up a variety of powers that you won't, in theory. I wouldn't necessarily call it useless. I'm not sure how his power works, but it can also confirm people who have 'active' roles at all via failure of investigation. The complimentary rolecop thing could be townie, and again makes me second-guess my metagaming (which, of course, just goes to show that I shouldn't be doing it at all.)

It's Bobbin's call if he reveals stuff or not. I think he should in the name of more widespread information, but it's also dependant on the roles involved. Frankly, I think Yak should do the same thing.

Well, I suppose it doesn't really matter much.  My first night's investigation was Excal.  He was home.  So, either he has a passive role, he's vanilla, he has a daytime role, or he chose not to use his role.

Which, come to think of it, proves a lot about how useful Cranbud's supposed role could be. <_<

I suppose I'll go ahead and reveal what I did find out on Otter:

Otter (Night 1 investigation) has no special abilities, or at least none that I found.

Strago (Night 2 investigation) has an ability I don't want to reveal.

In neither case did I get a clear picture of WHO they were, although I suspect I know in Strago's case.  Nor do I know their alignments, although vanilla would seem to indicate Town, right?

Vanilla doesn't necessarily mean town, as it could be a goon or a reading on a Godfather, assuming that the Godfather is immune to Rolecops as well as the normal kind.

Well...ugh. It's believable balance-wise, but also easy to make up as a counterpoint to what you've already claimed.

The biggest potential impact to me is that if he flips town, it makes this look more like town/town and less like scum railroading town. What conclusion to draw from that is brain-achey.

I'm not sure what to think, honestly.

I don't know how I feel about Otter/Strago reveals, either, if Cranbud flips town. Assuming neither one of Yakko or Cranbud is fibbing to us, what does that say? Who suddenly gets scummy?

The only thing that jumps out at me right now is that Bobbin Cranbud is now classifying his departure after the Yakko hammer post on Nitori as a "disastrous mistake". ...while it's put him in this position and thus could be seen in that way, I... am... the wording feels off. Doesn't feel enough to vote him on at this point, alone, but... mrr, he's felt heavily revisionist this entire game, especially in his earlier posts this game day. I need to consider this, but I'm not sure I'm willing to let him off the hook, here.

Something occured to me: It is possible that one of them is a full scum rolecop as well and is using what they know about the situation to fabricate this kind of dualism. Bobbin, Yak, how much detail are you getting? One-word roles, or is it explained to you exactly how they work? I'm *not* asking you to quote things, here, just tell us how it seems.
