For scenario 1, either they already knew your role, or Cranbud took a stab in the dark and got lucky. I've already explained why I don't believe the latter, and the former means you telling us that Cranbud was right doesn't do anything for scum.

For scenario 2, I've already explained how you could have pointed out Cranbud's untruths without revealing your role.

And in scenario 1, the continued possibility of the former means that I want to keep mum. In scenario 2, well, we've talked around this for long enough that now it's too late for me to say "I don't have a passive role" and end this, and at the time doing so didn't occur to me.

...gah. Now I'm just going to sound stupid, but it's possible I'm wrong about the Ghost thing. The exact message that I got was that I lost focus, Fnorder vanished from in front of me, and then I forgot what I was doing altogether. I assumed Ghost because (1) I'm an investigator, and immunity to investigation is the Ghost power; and (2) we'd seen two Ghosts in this game already. But it's possible that Fnorder is immune to night actions altogether, which would be a different role completely. Nothing in the PM I got contradicts that.

And by the same token I don't know if that changes anything. But I didn't want to keep quiet about it once I got the thought.

No, I wasn't "waiting for a slip like that". That sort of mistake is no big deal, especially given you corrected it immediately.

I personally think your fear of a lucky guess is simply paranoia, but I guess there's not a lot more I can do if you still feel differently.

You sound pretty certain of that. The information handed out varies from mod to mod, so in the absence of precedent from El Cid specifically I don't think I should assume.

I reiterate that being investigation immune is news to me.

Is it possible that with the bulk of investigatory roles, the scum have a "shrouder"? Either block theirs from suspicion, or use it as a pseudo framer as shown here?

Also, Tai- sorry for leaving you off. No hidden agenda behind it. Frankly, if you are scum, I can't really tell from your posts and their content. You target whoever you request with relatively the same scrutiny- pretty much just like you playing town in the past. Doesn't really tell me anything either way.

Sopko, as well, since Excal is now apparently Town and he's the one who I suspect most out of the Excal voters. for his generally lurky and unhelpful play.

I never voted Excal. Not once in the entire game. My votes from Day 1 were as follows: Evil Tom (Kil, QuietRain), CK, Cranbud and Fnorder.

This is a pretty bad mistake to make this late in the game, and seriously makes me suspect you as if this was purposeful, it really tries to misrepresent me.

Also, where was it stated that Excal was town? Did a cop lay out an investigation on him? You have no way of knowing this unless you're scum.

I was sure on Fnorder yesterday. I'm still sure on him now. But I want to hear Strago's defense before I vote.

I find it ironic that soppy makes a mistake when pointing out the mistake of another like that. From this little interplay, I'm pretty much certain that if soppy or strago turn up scum, the other one is pretty much clear in my book.

Fnorder: Scum had a framer, it's just that Nitori died really early on. So. Yeah. Town was pretty lucky over the first couple of days, what with hitting out two extremely mean roles.

Damnit. I even double checked over it. Well, chalk up another on the "bad mistakes to make late in the game" column.

Still, I want to know what made him think I voted Excal.

As for the cop thing. Yeah, we probably have an abundance of cops. We also probably have millers though to balance that. Probably a Godfather as well.

Three ghosts.

Questionable sanity on the part of our first cop, seeing as he died before any investigations were made. Possibility of either Kilga or Shale playing us all for fools, but that doesn't really line up for me right now; I'm putting it down to just wanting to be more wary of roleclaims in general. (Unless Kilga and Strago are both scum and Kilga has no scum powers or is godfather or something, or.. or.. yeah, this is getting very xanatos-gambit like.)

I'm Hex, the Unseen University's computer. I am a Miller Slow Cop. I get things in the order of flavor, alignment, role.

Day 1- QuietRain (I was the investigation that failed on the Day 2 flavor)
Day 2- Excal (Duck Man)
Day 3- Excal (Townie)
Day 4- Corwin (Rincewind)

Not very helpful, I'm afraid. But hopefully it'll add to confirming things.

Still a reasonable theory for another power, and I'd think it would be both more and less effective than a raw framer, since an uncertain result on a person early is enough to make a cop hesitate, making it scumdoc-esque, especially if we have no Vigilante power.

It's perfectly reasonable for me to be unaware of my ghostiness- but with their framer dead, can you think of a better target than me for that kind of scum power, last night?

I'll only have people's trust back when if/when I flip, so the best I can do is talk about ideas and scenarios.

I would like to hear from Sopko about what, again, makes him so sure on me.
