SRWZ: Uh.....wow. Stage 36 is even worse than I thought it'd be. 250,000 total boss HP to wade through, plus 18 grunt squads, in five turns with no upgrades and a standing start for Will. I'm not remotely sure this is possible, and it's sure not happening tonight.

Godhand-Stage 8. Welp, now with Elvis, Shannon, and the Mad Midget Five gone, the villain cast has gone downhill recently. Honestly the most trouble I've had with a boss recently is Tiger Joe, and even then it was only because I wanted to save my Godhand/Roulettes for Shannon. Difficulty has pretty much given up the ghost at this point, the only way I die now is because your health carries over from stages and healing items are few and far between.

The story and characters and whatnot are good lighthearted fun, and I'm enjoying the cutscenes. Gene is awesome, Olivia is delightfully bitchy and fanservice incarnate, and the minibosses are all fun while they're around.

Just a very solid, fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

PS4 - So along with my regular playthrough of this, which is currently at the Air Castle, I am also doing a Low Level Game.

Summary for those of you who don't want to read all the gooey details: I very sadly had to level up slightly for Juza (brought everyone up to Level 5; at lower levels, it just wasn't reasonably possible unless I got absolutely insane luck), but aside from that, it's gone pretty well, though has been predictably very tough (except for Igglanova, because nothing makes him good). Just beat Zio with Demi and Rune at their base levels, Rika at 11, Gryz at 8, and Chaz at 7, using a strategy that was centered around two-shield Rika defending and tanking for Rune, who used up every scrap of damage he had in order to kill Zio.

Also Gryz fails.

Erwin Schrödinger will kill you like a cat in a box.
Maybe.

FF4- Game keeps pulling in retarded moments. How the twins die is stupid and just seems like something they tacted on to explain them leaving the party.
However the worse offender is the scene after you beat Golbez. There are no words for how stupid that scene is.

You have to max out that level bar or whatever it is before you can fight.  Buy and sell really expensive crap to do it fast.

Not that. I saved over my Orgulla fight file before finding out how much would I make by selling crap, and then I realized that I only had shaved one third of the debt by spending one hour and a half on Orgulla (also lost a bunch of potential Awakenings. Blargh). Sooooooooo, I'm probably stuck with getting it in the aftergame. ._.

EDIT: Which is to say that was poor planning on my part regardless. But I'm not willing to start over just for excessively broken MOMO early on when she's already insane. >_>

And hardcore FF4 fans who can't really defend the game beyond "That simple charm!" (aka its got nostalgia and nothing else) can't seem to understand why people are starting to like the game less <<

Edit: Wait, is this FF4DS or FF4o/a?  Cause the Golbez scene ranges from "Stupid" to "Incredibly retarded" depending on version.

As in, FF4DS, he just kind of gets up spontaneously, runs to the crystal, and teleports.  Merely a *psyduck* moment cause its "Uh, ok, so what was the point of BEATING him then?"

FF4o/a?  Golbez turns into a hand! SLOWLY CRAWLS TO THE CRYSTAL!  Grabs Crystal! Teleporst away!
...your team sits there and watches.  Like, no one even says anything, let alone thinks to try and stop the hand, they just watch it.  Worst yet, the hand starts initially closer to your team than the Crystal, and crawls like around the entire floor once before finally going for the crystal...

Half-Life 2: Tried this out, and I'm surprised to say it's not bad. Story presentation is worlds beyond anything Half-Life could have dreamed of, by which I mean characters actually interact with Gordon instead of talking in his general direction once in a while (teleportation sequence was genuinely really good, though). Gameplay isn't doing anything wrong, but I'm only in the root kanal (har har har) so it's pretty much "run through this linear path, kill all soldiers who oppose you with leet physicist powar." Using the gun emplacement was pretty cool! I like how they let you know it's time to move on by shooting rockets at you.

Also, I like how one of the underground railroad guys comments that it's lucky you're not the guy the soldiers are looking for. Yes, because the man who's been shot repeatedly by soldiers, is carrying a gun blatantly looted from one of them, and wearing body armor with the resistance's emblem painted on the chest in bright orange clearly isn't the guy they're looking for.

Man there is so much more wrong with FF4 plot than that Golbez scene.  Also it you don't spell it "Nostalgia" Meeple, you do realise that there is a B in Brain Damage.

Why would you be shocked that HL2 is good >_>?  Sure I haven't hyped it really hard, but I just thought it was implied that it is good in spite of it not being my genre even.  Clearly this was remiss of me.  Sure the whole thing from HL2 onwards kind of devolves into rail shooting interspersed with the occasional ludicrously easy physics puzzle, but it is still fun times.

FF4 was supposed to be like a comic book, like how FF6 was supposed to be an Opera (complete with three acts that center around three different characters, no less). That is both the charm AND the problem.

I'm playing the DS version. Watched the orginal scene on youtube to see for myself after you described it. Square should do comedy as I was laughing throughout the whole scene.

Persona 4 - Finally done. True ending route complete. To those that say good ending and true ending are the same. I have one word for you.

LIES

Big detailed post to wrap up my thoughts later since it's 3:30 a.m right now. I also leveled up everyone to get their final skills and such and ended up with a *slightly* overlevelled MC...which is probably why everything in the last dungeon was vaguely lol. Videos to be uploaded when they are done converting.

Orgulla totally used Medica three times one time when I fought her.

Okay, at least twice.

SRW4: Got Raideen. A super with just one pilot, who is underleveled. Benched! Dunbine is still untouchable and full of damage, Amuro now has S Gundam for uber hax, and I still wish they'd translated the dialogue. Would have to download an unpatched version if I learned Japanese to boot, as the original text is mostly replaced by random letters. Probably supposed to be readable... but it's not.

WA4: Er... crossed a mountain, and ran through a volcano. Having the villains actively plan to attack you one by one as to be conveniently beaten by the party with ease was a little odd. Wunderweltraum needs an 'a' added to the end for the most retarded platforming in the game so far, as well as having an enemy with Eject.

Now, if I play P4, and something... else that's a fourth, I'll have 4 times 4.

... though 4=death, so maybe that's a bad idea.

Godhand-Finished. Angra would have been pretty easy but with two lifebars his paltry damage dealing ability can add up on you. Think it took me about 20 hours or so?

Really fun game. Story is nonsense, but the characters are really good. Gene is awesome, Olivia is hilarious fanservice, the villain cast is generally amusing, some of the minibosses are great, etc. It's full of little touches and jokes and just has a lot of charm. The gameplay is solid. The difficulty kind of drops off around Stage 3 and doesn't  pick back up until Stage 8 or so, but it's still consistently hard. The continue system was a godsend in this game. It's a shame Clover was forced to shut down, they really made some damn fine games.

8/10 or so. Good stuff.

And now...I'll probably buy Persona 4. Hopefully cheap.

Sonic 2- Been playing this. The controls are crappy and the coins coming out of you is really random and it annoys me, but it's pretty good overall.

MK- I'm still in Chapter 1 because I am lazy but I should get around to playing it this weekend.

Devil May Cry 4: Yes, I got a 360.  Yes, I'm playing a new game again.  No, its not an RPG.  But yes, it is good stuff, at least so far.

Up to Chapter 6.  Plotwise, last thing I remember happening is Nero getting ready to shoot Dante, only to watch Dante jump off a cliff into a forest only cause he could.

Initial thoughts?

Well, controls are nice and smooth, which is expected; DMC1 did it well, and DMC3 did it even better (DMC2 I can't remember, but that game is so easy you DON'T CARE), so yeah, no surprises here.  Naturally, this is a good thing!

Nero is a nice unique character, though, he's a bit awkward for a starting character in a DMC.  I tried using him like Dante at first, and despite the Sword and Rapid Fire Pistol (which fires somewhat slower than E&I, but then, I suppose that's the point), he really does handled differently.   I've gotten use to him, and have more or less gotten a handle on Devil Bringer, but yeah, he's weird to play as when you're use to Dante.
One thing I don't like about him, though?  General lack of variety.  This does make fights using him a bit more repetitive than Dante or Vergil, both of whom thrived on variety in all forms.

...actually, that explains one DMC2's flaws right there, thinking on it, since DMC2 Dante had a fundamental lack of variety (DMC1 Dante AT LEAST had Ifrit...and the excuse of being the first in the series, so it had no standards to live up too.  DMC2? Hay look, swords with varying power/lengths lol!)

Not liking the fact that there are ACTUAL PUZZLES.  Mainly the Gyro thing.  Hopefully that'll be gone.

Plot is...mildly interesting.  As in, a huge step up compared to DMC1-3.  Admittedly, DMC1's plot was just tossed in there for "Whatever, just an excuse to kill demons", DMC2's is more like a half written script, and DMC3 didn't even try to take itself seriously (Jester is really the only proof you need.), so you watched its plot just for the humor and the "oh wow, did he just decapitate a demon with a MOTORCYCLE?" moments.
DMC4 seems like its actually trying with an actual plot, but at the same time, trying to hold itself from ruining the DMC feel.  Could play out to be interesting.  Angus is really creepy though...but at the same time, awesome in terms of design when you think about the big picture (Big Burly Black Guy...whose both a MAD SCIENTIST and a Priest...and he has a stutter...not to mention a rather wimpy voice...)

For the Not Actual Plot aspects of Plot scenes?  Game is still over the top and stylish.  Nero's good at pulling those one liners that Dante often did in DMC1/3, and he generally does feel like Dante at times, even though he's clearly not.  Just oozes with style, which is what the series does best!

So yeah, generally good so far.  Has some minor issues that DMC3 never really had, so its feeling clearly overall worse in the end but...that's not really a bad thing.  Trying to redo DMC3 (let alone one up) is really damned hard, so at least capturing most of what DMC3 had is enough, which DMC4 is doing well.

Really, though, I just want to get to the Dante sections cause that sounds like when the game really picks up <_<
