VPDS: B Route beaten.  The final boss here was so much less retarded, but that just means the fight was "bland" instead of "stupid."  At least the plot boss before it was stylish or something <_<

Also, I did not need that extra fight after Langrey; just a waste of time considering how pathetic the enemies were.

If you were to cull fights because the enemies suck in VPDS, though, there would be no game - wait that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Thing is, the enemies sucked even by the game's standards.  There was nothing stand outa bout them; there were no bosses, they were utterly generic, with standard levels, and the stage didn't even have anything close to a unique design.  Just an early ramp of sorts that makes the map take longer, but other than that...it was like the most uninspired waste of time ever, and it served no real plot purpose other than to break up two plot scenes.  It'd be one thing if we actually FOUGHT the guy who appeared in that plot scene, but instead its just "You kicked the crap out of nameless generics, oh hey, a plot figure! ...wait, why didn't we fight him in battle and he just pull one of those 'but I'm not dead yet!' stunts?"

That's why you put Realmstalkers there.

Wait, endgame VPDS. You'd just smash them anyway.

But I do so much damage, its hard to NOT get my Sin requirement!  That, and the overkill tendancies in me require that I kill things as much as possible before they die, so being REWARDED for doing such a thing only encourages it!

(I can't help thinking that Meeple might've preferred to start with C and work up, ending-wise.  We'll see.)

From what I can tell, I think that's what the game wants you to do.  A Route would have been a little more interesting knowing how Wyl acted in B Route or something, and it wouldn't shock me that their difficulty is geared such that you go C -> B -> A, especially since A Route has some stupid rescue missions that would become completely trivial with transfered Plume skills.  Of course, the game is so nice about telling you this stuff, I should have known, right?

Touhou Odyssey - Almost done with floor 2, just need to nail Cirno to the floor.

Remi/Patchy/Marisa top tier for use thus far, China for always in tier (frontlining her is profitable). Chen/Reimu/Sakuya are my first line so I can save TP for Remi/Patchy/Marisa.

Thus far... Patchy >>> Remi >= Marisa > Reimu = China > Chen >>> Sakuya. Get some damage, Saks.

Well, technically if you do as the game instructs, you'll end up on C path pretty easily just by using the plume twice. And the game -does- tell you that you're supposed to be sacrificing people to the Plume. And in both previous VP games, you send Einherjar off your team, so it's not unprecedented. Granted, doing so is obviously pretty evil.

No, not really.  The game doesn't say "Sacrifice people to the Plume!"  What it says is, from what I recall, is just "Make sure you're getting Sin to please Hel!"  She then states two ways of doing it, either through Over-killing or using the Plume.

And I don't think VP1/2's Einherjar are quite the same as VPDS' pluming.  The Einherjar you're encouraged to do and not only do you get rewards from doing it, you need to do it for the best Ending.  There are other factors of course (almost all entirely FAQ Bait).  VP2, the game pretty much just says "Do this for goodies, the later you wait, the more goodies you get!"
VPDS outright gives you an alternative method to doing it, and more or less says "Doesn't matter HOW you get Sin, just as long as you get it, she'll be happy."   Logic was that Sin fills Plume with power, thus you get the Angel Slayer, thus a weapon to combat the Valkyrie.  B Route, Wyl only sacrifices one extra person, but he still gets the Angel Slayer anyway, and is ready to fight the Valkyrie, just as been a theme in B Route, he's hesitant about going through with it, due to a moral conflict.  Contrast to A Route where Wyl's been Pro-life/Anti-War the entire way through, due to the whole Failure Knight syndrome, so he's able to basically see that Hel and her minions are just a bunch of "HARVEST MORE SOULS!!!" dipshits.

I'm guessing the creators figured people would have a hard time on their first run and bank on Pluming to get them out of tough spots more, but *shrugs*

In the A route Wyl is outright told to plume people eventually, but IIRC it's only once C6 starts.

That sounds familiar; I seem to recall her mostly whining that Wyl stopped a war that was the perfect opportunity for MOAR SOULS, and ultimately was deemed useless and hence RETARDED FINAL BOSS GO!!!

I'm being vague on purpose cause I don't fee like spoiler tagging, bare in mind.  I know the specifics of that scenario, but if I mention more than the way I did, I feel I mgiht give away VPDS PLOT!!! which some people might care about.

In any event, Chap 6 is...uh...kind of late for the game to say "PLUME PEOPLE DAMN IT!" so that kind of doesn't rule out the fact that there's little indication that they want you to Plume people the first run.

Not to mention the person saying PLUME PEOPLE DAMNIT is so obviously evil it's pretty damn obvious that you will get the best ending by not doing so. (And what do you know, you do.) You may do it gameplaywise (to get out of a tough spot), or you may do it to satisfy your inner sociopath (*eyes Djinn* <.<) but it's pretty clearly the "wrong" thing to do.

Also notice how basically everyone who plays VPDS gets the A ending (whether first or last or whatever) but not necessarily the others; they're skippable.

Playing Rondo of Swords. Marie, my one and only healer: 66 HP, 4 Def. Compare with my tank: 445 HP and 60 Def. ... Compare with regular fighter: 280 HP, 30 Def.

... Uh...huh. If this was something that stood a chance of being ranked, I think Marie'd be the new Puny durability.
