It's the peninsula north of Pravoka (town where you face the mighty BIKK THE PIRATE!!!).

Here's a picture of the Peninsula in case you still can't find it (I'm assuming you're playing the original NES version)
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

Bear in mind that the peninsula is only the circled area, two squares on each side.

I'm just curious if you're playing on a physical NES or if you're using an emulator.

Also, don't ALL of the remakes include The Peninsula? I'm sure at least one of them does, so I'm assuming they all do.

Topicality is king:

So now I've started up Wild ARMS Alter Code F because I was a little tired of Wild ARMS original. Yes, I -am- concurrently playing them now. ACF's translation goes a long way in making WAo's story into something coherent. Still laughable as a story, but at least I can follow it now.

It's kind of sad that the original's animated opening is better.

I miss Cecilia's "beat the english into them" Magic Wand.... T_T

FFO version, actually. No NES in my possession.

The Curse of Monkey Island: Started playing this again, picking back up from where I left off at New Year's.

I've failed to complete any of my said tasks yet. No map to Blood Island, No Crew, and No ship yet. I have ideas on how to do all of them, I'm just missing the finer points/items to do so :(
I made it to the pirate ship in Danjer Cove, but I keep getting tossed off the plank. I'm looking for Yellowbeard's Cabana Membership card. I still have to complete all of the barbershop pirate quests to get them to join my crew. I gotta find a way to get chicken to the Yellowbeard's Fried Chicken place again for the pirates on Danjer Cove. Uggggggggggg.

So many puzzles (I'm on Mega-Monkey mode), so little brain power left today.

If tomorrow I can't make any headway, I'll end up heading to UHS to get a hint in the right direction.

The Penninsula is hardly a bug, more like a part of the land mass accidentally goes a bit TOO far, skirting into the area with that formation pack, instead of being like the ones nearbye.

At least, I assume that's the case, if FF1's random encounter system is remotely like FF6's with regards to what you fight where.

SRW:AG

Map 19 complete! 15 skill points collected so far.

Garrod likes Tifa. Not in the sense of any sort of affection, mind you. When she is with him, his GX is THAT much more awesome. Oh yeah, him getting Valor makes that unit freaking awesome.

Other then them, the new pilots aren't anything special. Jamil is ok. Base unit with 4 magic users? Yes please. Not sure what story arc (anime) I am in, guessing one of the Gundams that I haven't seen possibly? Most of these new characters I am unfamiliar with.

I gave Zeta a couple upgrades and now there are pretty fireworks everywhere. Things die, and it's not Kamille. My MVP so far, by far.

Fun stuff, though I still haven't even used that module option on the base screen. Not sure what that is for, but I assume if I haven't seen from it yet, it's bound to pop up sooner or later.

Modules are where you equip different loadouts for robots that have multiple versions. V2's Assault and Buster equipment, Nu Gundam's HWS pack, ZZ Gundam's Full Armor Parts, and so forth. You'll get the first one reasonably soon.

Scar, you're right on the route for Gundam X (I think Turn A is the other story around the late teens?). Which means, well, proto-Wing Zero and the like, moreso if you like Tomino's unified timeline theory.

Randomly ran through a little more of a S3 replay, just Thomas' first chapter today. Guillaume, oh Guillaume. I think that's enough of that, back to WA4 and such.

Mana Khemia finished - Flay path chosen.

Alright, this game is very much a mixed bag.  The day/night cycle I generally referred to as a good chance to catch up on my reading, or otherwise a good reminder to stop playing the game for a bit and do something else.  So, it's very well designed if you want to periodically disengage your players from the game.  Somehow, I don't think that was the intention.  The other really big problem is the Grow Book, which quite frankly takes the worst aspects of the Sphere Grid and the License Board and mixes them together.  The fact that you can't see what you need to move forward or even really what you get further on is generally annoying.  This is in addition to the fact that the progression system makes it so that lacking one item can prevent further growth for the entire party.  So, yeah.  Two very emphatic thumbs down.  Finally, there's just the lesser mention that the character quests felt less like a reward that actually doing the classes, since the classes gave you free stuff.  Really good free stuff.  So that getting good grades is actually counter productive since the only thing you get is less good stuff and a few interesting rumours.

Now, on to the good stuff.  Some of the things they pulled with the characters was actually good.  Flay had a neat twist, and was generally mildly amusing at worst.  But Vayne, Jess, Roxis, and the villain cast were also very well done.  Mana of Light also gets a special nod despite being very tied in with Roxis.  Specifically, the way they handled the final boss and the main plot in the second half is interesting, even if it wasn't well written (it needed much more lead up and definition, though I don't really want to say too much here).  That said, the plot really only shows up for the last 25% of the game, and the gameplay for the last 50%, so the opening mainly just gets by on Flay, Tony, and Renee, and isn't anything special.

So...  for the most part, the good far outweighs the bad.  Just, the bad is so glaring and so very, very much didn't need to be there.  Either way, it was a neat game to play and a nice break from P3.  Just hope the ending there is half as good as the one here.

On the go

SRWOG1 finished, Combine Cheese is chedderlicious, and Irm once again probably manages to snag MVP, though Ryusei makes a fairly good argument later on just from having SRX.  Either way, nothing special there.

Which brings me to...  FE6.

Managed to get this working on my DS, so it's going on now.  Just beat Chapter 8, and am halfway through 8x.  Party so far is Roy, Lance, Alan, Sue, Lugh, Dieck, Thany, Rutger, Clarine, and Lilina is getting a trial berth to see if she turns out halfway decent.  So far, +2 Speed in two/three level ups is saying that she will be.  Everyone is around Lv10/11 except for a Lv 6 Roy and a Lvl 3/4 Lilina.

For what it is worth, I am pretty sure Peninsula was in Dawn of Souls.  DoS didn't change the way FF1 encounters worked at all though I believe.

Blue Vegetta  - Restarted this on my own box.  Not making much ground, but still plodding away just at the start.  It is fun but the acheivements in the game can generally go die.

In other news, like 2 days after making fun of Super for it, my little brother picked up a PS3 and Valkyria Chronicles and it actually doesn't look bad.

What a shock, you're wrong yet again. VC's a damn good game and worth a try in spite of the flaws.

I said it was neat and interesting.  How good a game is still up for judgement.  From what I saw it is inferior to FM4 and therefor SS and X-Com games as Squad based tactics games.

If you have a HDTV, you can buy component cables to play PSP-to-TV.  You can only play PSone classics that you downloaded from your PS3 on your PSP, but nothing that lets you play PSP games on your PS3.
