ToV-What's this? BA'UL is evolving!

BA'UL evolved into AIRSHIP!

And then I got all the way past the Heracles. Boo to having my heal battery taken away. Raven's a poor substitute at best, and limited items makes it really annoying. Zagi was pretty easy, just sat him in the corner and spammed him to death. Captain Schwann was a good deal tougher, and took me a few tries.

L4D-Blood Harvest is hard. =(
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

XF: Up to 1-14!

SF4: Played a bit of this.  Game seems to have been simplified compared to Alpha and Third Strike, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, since it gives off the charm of Street Fighter 2 while maintaining features and polish to make it not feel outdated.  So yeah, good stuff!

JEALOUSY. And the game has more depth than it looks, check out the stuff you can do with Focus Attacks sometime.

For the first time, I can run this without there being any lag whatsoever. It's so beautiful. I created an omnivorous predator, (And actually kept the basic cell-style mouth for the entire run) and it is an unholy abomination. Hooray for abominations.

You should populate a world with the horrifying randoms from Shadow Hearts.

Or an entire world that looks like Alhazad without his cloak. Scrap that. Keep the cloak.

So I just realized SO4 is coming out in a week. February's a good month for video games all the sudden?

How soon are you going to be able to play it then Rob?

FF12RW - Faced off against balthier. My attempt to rush him failed completely, so I had in the end to rely on Ba'Gamman to do the job for me (Oh how I wish I could use the cute little lizard man).

BvS - Lag is getting better so I'm liking the game more. Got apointed Vice leader so I now have more powers to mess around with, so tried to get some resourses for the village but I seem to have picked a VL which had twenty or so bingo armors to mess with.

Tomorrow. SO4's coming out less than a week apart in the US and Japan.

Finished Wild Arms original.

*nods*

I honestly don't know what to say about it. I kind of forced myself to finally finish it for DL purposes. I already knew how it ended, and I knew how the characters would turn out.

I guess the most exciting part of the game was playing around with the Randomizer spell. And the ridiculous tools are pretty cool (Violence-inducing guitar! Improbably fast roller skates! The stick that beats the English into adorable animals!).

But apart from realizing that a twinked Cecilia could solo the game, just kind of a dull experience. A few of the anachronistic comments that popped up were both amusing and a little jarring (This isn't the USS Invincible!).

Oh, I had never fought Belial before, and the namesake of the WA4 character was a surprisingly different beast from what I had been expecting. I had originally assumed the two were related somehow besides the name. But the Berial from WAo is a Golem whereas the WA4 character is a... what the hell is she anyway?

Still slowly going through WAACF, and I popped in WA2 for a bit too. I've taken to calling Ashley 'Overlord Blazer' for some inexplicable reason and I'm amused by the thought.

Lilika's transitionless flashback still bothers me.

Want ToV and SO4... dammit.

What do you mean by "next-gen?" They've been out for like three years now. I think it qualifies as current-gen.

They'll be current-gen when the PS2 stops having a huge shelf devoted to it in my local EB and they decide to actually be affordable and have more than 5 games I care about each.

SF4 - Not playing, just watching.  Daaaaamn, Chun Li got some junk in that trunk.  Baby got back.  The stockings making it look like she has gone and stolen a black woman's legs is just icing on the cake.

You're supposed to solo Kun Kun. It's the only way to complete the quest. TONFA killed Kun Kun, and he had to do it with WIZARD PHYSICAL!<G> I think it was a 44HKO?

Duh.  Sarcasm.  Kun Kun doesn't attack.

Also echoing Darn you and your next-gen systems statement.  No SO4 for me.  :(

DQ5:  I am a little kid rooting through everyone's drawers and breaking their barrels.  Pankraz for freaking Godlike.  Did some Ghostbusting and some Faerie-loving.  Accents blow in this game.  Needs more DQ8 accents.

Anyways, SRW Alpha Gaiden. 32 chapters, and now I update all of you! Aaaanyways lots of fun so far, and been getting by using the units I like over the necessarily strong units, which is good. Switching pilots around is pretty fun; Puru 2 in Dendrobium, Noin in Heavyarms, Sochie in V2, Four in a Doben Wolf... there seems to be a pattern here. Actually, I'm tempted to try a mostly ladies run someday, though forced deployments will make it kinda painful.

Zechs is my top ace of all people, probably due to the first couple chapters you have him for. That Mega Cannon is nasty, and the Heat Rod is a great melee weapon. Tallgeese III having 100 speed that early in the game is also very nice. Surprised Heero hasn't done as well, though it's probably the lack of Heat Rod to charge weakened enemies with. Highest level pilot, however, is Isamu... Pinpoint Barrier Punch is niiiice. Also, Isamu is a pretty cool guy or something.

Chapter 32 actually was a tight one - it came down to the last turn with a WaDom left with over 2000 HP, and Fa was in its attack range. In the Methuss. Which is slow and frail and can't break 1000 damage against it. Instead... the WaDom turns to Isamu, who is at range 1 with over 110 will. Cue Pinpoint Barrier Punch for 4000+ damage overkill. Thank you for stupid fucking AI.

Haven't really tried for skill points at all, so I'm on easy mode I guess. Don't care. Gundam Double X + G Falcon is very nice, and GARrod is a fine pilot, with Para for a sub to provide extra uses of focus. Twin Satellite Cannon hasn't been much use yet, since it's one shot every three turns or five for the MAP version, and I rarely have the will for it by then anyways. Other weapons work well enough, and DX Buster Rifle has 32 ammo at the start of every mission for some reason so... yeah.

Also, disappointed that Cybuster is so much worse than in the OG games; Zamzeed and Goddess have proven far more useful aside from movement concerns.

Alpha Gaiden: Ragnarok time! The real fight with Aurgelmir was a joke compared to the WAVE OF BERGELMIRS level. Yeah, four bosses with full sets of spirit triggers in one fight, and no enemies below 22,000 HP! Fun times.

Party is:

Mazinkaiser: Unholy damage dealer and almost as good a tank. Equipped with the Soul of Steel and an HPHGCP because Fire Blasters every turn are sick and wrong (16,000 on a crit? In a game where enemy HP is capped at 65,000? Yes, please.)
Shin Getter 1: Not as good a tank or damage-dealer as Kaiser (Stoner Sunshine is the same power is Fire Blaster, but Getter has no Mazin Power and a B on land for all Ryouma's attacks), but still plenty destructive and can throw out Valored attacks from now to doomsday. Also has an HPHGCP, because otherwise it would be stuck with Getter Beam as its best every-turn damage instead of Stoner Sunshine. Can't have that, can we?
Voltes V and Combattler V: Basically the same robot twice. Five spirit sets including Rouse, decent finishers. Not much for damage until they get those finishers unlocked, but they've got utility.
Raideen: Owner of the third HPHGCP, for great God Voice spam. Was the best boss-killer in the team until the upgraded Dynamics showed up, and still holds its own with them.
Daitarn 3: Tanks and uses Souled Sun Attacks. Pretty one-dimensional, but it's a fun dimension.
Thrudgelmir: NEVER DIES. 1800 base armor, 12,000 HP, HP Regen Large...damn. It's pretty weak on damage for a Sanger mech, but it would be an almighty god of grunt-slaying if there were any grunts left in the game when it joins.
Great Mazinger: Smashes stuff. Was pretty awesome earlier, is now in the Daitarn category of good damage but middle-of-the-road overall.
Brygar: Choudenji Brothers Lite for spirits, but trumps them for damage. Works for me.
Zeta Gundam: High Mega Launcher for range and counterattacks, Waverider Assault for smiting up close, and doesn't get hit by anything. Best real in the game.
V2 Assault Buster Gundam: Second-best real in the game. With a Generator it can throw out essentially infinite VSBRs and Wings(es) of Light, and the Long Range Cannon is surprisingly excellent damage backed with Soul. Also, Haro has Rouse, always a plus.
Gundam Double X: G-Bits smash things up, and with the G-Falcon it can use Satellite Cannon for no EN cost every other turn. Tifa's excellent support set is icing on the cake.
R-3 Powered: Aya has Replen and Rouse, both of which are integral to starting quickly and sustaining a beatdown.
Nors Rei: Heals, dodges okay, and has Rouse.
White Ark: Heals, tanks surprisingly well for a healer, and has Rouse.
Venus A: Heals, tanks okay when loaded with Alloy Z, and has Rouse yet again. What can I say, I like starting a fight with my entire team at 130 Will or higher.

Shining Force Feather: It's...Valkyrie Profile. How odd.

Oh no, it isn't sa deep or as complicated. Just take it as a button smasher.
But really, the battle system deserves no attention when you had all those tsukomi and VA jokes.

Really? Is that clearly stated somewhere? I was under the impression that Scythe just thought he was a Crimson Noble from the power he gained. He doesn't really exhibit any clear Crimson Noble abilities... And Belial herself seems to have more power than a Crimson Noble. I was kind of operating under the assumption that Belial was a leftover Metal Demon.
