Everyone's health seems to be full. Looks like I'm doing my job right. ;)
SaGa Frontier: Yeah, I'm just bouncing around with different games this week. Finished Red's chapter -finally-. It was pretty cool. I was kind of surprised by the large chain of bosses there, though. Still, the 'action-packed' trailer for Red's next big movie made me wish there was more of his chapter to play.
Started and finished Riki's chapter. Great set-up, a morbid setting of a homeworld on the brink of destruction that can only be saved by gathering the MacGuffins... And it stars a cute monster-kid! It really had a Lord of the Rings flavor to it, which was cool, only Sam was a hot Asian chick with purple hair instead of a Hobbit gardener. ...AND it turns out that she's the villain who's been mastermind-ing the whole adventure to collect the rings for herself! Fun stuff, pretty satisfying in a cheesy sort of way.
...and then the ending takes all of that away. Not only does it turn out that Mei-Ling's possessor can be foiled by a simple beating, leaving Mei-Ling unharmed, but the Lummoxes decide that they don't even want their homeworld after all - they'll just move to another dimension! And to top it all off, Riki returns the uber-powerful Rings to all the horrible people he stole them from (Except the Ring Lord for some reason!?). It pretty much invalidated my whole time spent questing, which didn't sit well with me.
Well, at least Riki got to be a Black Dragon and that's awesome. Also, it was my first time getting Kylin - Candyland is cool. I love the backgrounds in this game.
Started and finished Emelia's chapter, too. Was severely underpowered the whole time because I didn't do -any- sidequesting except for the few I started just long enough to pick up better characters. The opening of Emelia's chapter has been one of my favorite so far. She's in prison and Annie's constantly hitting on her... I can't complain. SaGa Frontier is lesbian-friendly.
The "Working for Gradius" thing was kind of cool in a Charlie's Angels sort of way... only the organization spends way too much time drugging its own members and selling them into slavery, of course.
Only chapter where you can permanently recruit WhiteRose! Asellus and Zozma also a plus!
WTF is Cube?
Ending is really trainwreck-y though, the unfinished loose ends of the game really show here. What the hell is with the Shiva thing that attacks us at the end during Emelia's therapy wedding ceremony?!
I should look up what the bad ending for her chapter is like, the good ending is lame.
Next... T260G! I'll probably skip most of the sidequests again if I can. (Especially considering Robots can't learn magic...)
