SH3: Up to Uyuni Salt Lake. Enjoying the interplay between the villains. The main cast is more shallow than a pothole. Ricardo had his moments in Las Vegas, but... yeah, nothing since then from any of them. At least Johnny's VA isn't annoying. Sounds his age at least. Using Johnny/Shania/Slim Hilda/Ricardo. Was intending to use Mao for GIANT KITTY! factor but... using Ricardo in the Malice Edna fight convinced me to use him. Plus he's the only halfway decent person there, despite being a stereotype.

This is to Djinn apparently SaGa plot is calling me.

The furry animal gives up the rings well... because keep the rings separated is the best thing you can do to them at this point. And have Sei brought it back to his slumber, return another one to Despair, and had Nusaken sealed one of them are pretty good idea. As long as they are separate, they can't do a thing, but once they got put together, they are the most horrible. They grant any wishes and twist them to the extreme for the worst result possible. This is how Hell comes into existence in Magic Kingdom, someone there have gathered the rings in the past and wished to create a paradise.... the result is a paradise looking hell. With no reliable ways to get rid off the rings right now, keep them separate is the best thing to do.

As for Emilia, which end you get? Good end or bad end? She marries Ren in good end and all is fine. Shiva is just Joker's minion, that's all. As for Cube, that is RB3's power source, and Joker is created to retrieve it. Though, who really has the Cube is Mondo, and he contracted Dr. Kline to build a shiny mech out of Cube.

Last thing... go play Ancient Cave in Lufia3 and go fight Iris. I'd love to see you have a mental break down from that.

Neat story about Hell, at least. I'm still greatly annoyed at the Lummoxes for not just moving out of Margmel in the first place...

Good end. And I'm not upset that Ren and Emelia got married, but I was annoyed at not knowing what Shiva was. Or what the Mask/Joker thing was.

Wait... so Cube is RB3's power source... and it's also Mondo's mech at the end of Lute's chapter? But I just fought the actual RB3 itself in T260G's chapter (BTW Genocide Heart is coolest boss fight ever!)... so did I just destroy Cube twice?

Quote
Last thing... go play Ancient Cave in Lufia3 and go fight Iris. I'd love to see you have a mental break down from that.

Gah, more brain-exploding continuity errors... this time from a series that otherwise was pretty good about not having any...

Isn't Iris=Erim from Lufia2... And Seena=Erim in Lufia3... so who the hell is this Iris?

But no, Fuck the Ancient Cave. I got the freakin' Egg Dragon, that's good enough.

SaGa Frontier: Finished! T260G and Lute's stories are now complete.

Lute's was as empty as advertised, but Lute makes enough smarmy comments that I probably enjoyed his chapter more than most anyway. Also, the fact that he ends up the boss of Trinity after killing its former boss makes me laugh. He ended up sparking Rosario Impale in the second dungeon I entered, so the game ended up going pretty quickly with him. I still haven't gotten LifeSprinkler even once, though. With anyone... and ANY of the chapters... Fuck you LifeSprinkler.

T260G had a decent story going on. In fact, it kind of feels like T260G's story is the only one that really effects everyone. Lute and Emelia are directly tied to his story through Trinity, and even Riki has to deal Trinity a little bit. Though, Red, Blue, and Asellus really don't seem to have anything to do with it. Well... Asellus is connected to Yaruto in Emelia's story...

It's hard tying all of it together, really. Does BlackX have anything to do with Trinity?

And once more - Genocide Heart is the coolest boss fight I've seen in a while. What the hell, SaGa Frontier? If you can make something like this, why couldn't you have made the rest of the game this much fun?!

Actually, that's a general complaint about all SaGa games, I suppose. One day, we'll get one with polish and the world will implode or something...

RB3 didn't have Cube with it when you fought it, in other words it was never fully completed..... I wonder how strong it'll be if it actually has it.
Black X has secret dealing with Mondo. Mondo give them funds, Dr Klein build mech for him. Also, when Emilia infiltrated the Trinity Base, it is Mondo who let the monster in, just so Mondo can make up a excuse to get Yaruto down from the commander seat so Mondo himself can take over.
Also, Leonard is the know it all here. He knows fucking everything about what is going on behind Mondo. From Cube to RB3 to Black X and most of the stuff. He has been working against Mondo for sometime, and hide the fact pretty well too (Mondo never targeted Leonard directly, and Leonard's death is purely an accident). He also single handedly destroyed Trinity after Mondo's fall by broadcasting all Trinity's dark secrets through all the regional TV stations with his mad hacking skill. Due to his great contribution, he was unwillingly forced intot he seat of the president for the new regional government.

As for Iris, she is Erim, and still is. The question here is, which one is her main body now? Especially so if you take Energy Breaker as canon.... (I am not believing Selufia is not Erim and Selufia co-existed with Lufia at the same time)

Shining Force 2 - Recently got Rohde (in a meandering-about-with sense not a party sense).
Decency continues apace. Can it hold out???

SRWK hasn't arrived yet. I am enraged. On the other hand it sounds like Mazinger is turning out to be a latter-day J-Combattler among other things so perhaps it is trying to shield me from the pain of finding out this is true. Also my brother pretty much has my DS glued into his hands playing Rune Factory since his is broken. Hm.

Put in a preorder for Wallace and Gromit so now I have a couple of extra copies of a couple of games I already have. Not entirely sure what use I can put them to but it is vaguely amusing to see that this situation was accounted for on Telltale's games page.

People that were appalled at my backwardsness will be apathetic to know that I have gotten my hands upon a PS2. The first thing I did with it was knock it off the chair so it may turn out that I do not in fact have a working PS2 but that remains to be seen as I don't currently have anything to put in it. Need to check and see if I still have the PSg2 ISO anywhere assuming that I understand the capabilities of its modifications correctly.

The Z sucks for a while, but it becomes a pretty ridiculously strong mech once it receives its upgrade. It's one of my better damaging mechs currently.

That's not to say it's unusably bad early though, it's not oh SRWF Mazinger Z. And if it helps, you get the Godannar/G Gunner/Core Gunner off the bat, and they're all pretty solid[Godannar of course is the best, but].

SaGa Frontier's plot... seems to be fairly solid... if you take into account the Essence.
It's something of a conundrum. Part of me wants to say "Well, if it wasn't in the game, it doesn't really count."
But really, if the creators went out of their way to publish a book and say "Look, we had no budget, but this was what it's -supposed- to be like", it doesn't seem entirely fair to discount it completely.
The game itself is pretty fun to -play-, especially the bosses. And Asellus, Red, and T260G have decent stories even without the extra materials from the Essence. But before I can call it something better than a fun sandbox RPG, it would need a remake that actually includes the materials from Essence.
Great fanfic fodder, I suppose.

Selufia = Seena and Lufia? I've only played the American version, so if that's someone's Japanese name, you lost me.

Still playing Infinite Undiscovery. I have 11 hours. So far, they've introduced a much more intriguing storyline considering I have clues as to what's being hinted, but they're purely based off of nothing. : P  The voice acting is either hit or miss, if you like the voice actor's voice or not.

Battling has gotten harder. This is good. It forces you to connect more combos.

They added Enchanting for Capell. This is very good. It allows momentary status effects. You just collect the items and there you go. For example, ATK+20 lasts 10 minutes and all you need is Sandstone annnnd.. some other crap that's fairly abundant or that your teammates could create in IC.

Music is getting a bit better probably because the stages are becoming a bit more difficult.

I thought I'd have a problem with level gaining for all of the bagillion of members (so far, like, 8-9), but during important arcs rather than just exploration, you set up 2-3 teams depending on if the third is available. These groups are fully controlled by AI and explore the areas with you (A, the areas are fucking huge and normally they'll guide where to go once you find them after wandering off for more EXP/items) (B, They gain experience, and quickly level up to where you are, learn new skills etc and if you're around them while battling, all the AP goes to you) (C, they're a neccessary good anyway; there are some parts of areas that you need simulataneous access and once you reach a certain cursor, they'll give you a key or you'll forge items through from shards and give them to them. THIS eliminates so much fetch-and-go, it makes me happy. It's probably more emphasized by the fact that you don't have to control them at all).

I'd spoil something, but right now, let me just tell you that I finally have a cool ass outfit. Chyeah.

Well yeah no worries I'm not going to be hyping/supporting Eternal Sonata's plot or anything there. It was a nice concept though =( Oh well. It's always interesting to read Grefter's analysis on these things anyway.

Eternal Sonata- Recently obtained myself a new party member. Awesme. Saved in the fort after finding another switch in the east part. Took me long enough to get there. Couldn't be arsed farting around to do things properly since I had Elantris on my mind/other things to do. Current party is Viola (is Viola), Beat (pictures, range) and Polka (healing) I'm out of my stock of healing items so a party member with healing is currently invaluable. I probably don't really need Beat in there though since I've taken pictures of the rats already and he should be built up enough for using in the boss fight anyway. Might put someone else in for the meantime.

FF6- Just starting the dragon's den. Beat the first boss pretty badly, had fun with that. Mog tanking saves the day.

VPDS:  So yeah...  it's becoming more and more apparent that this thing is very much sledgehammer tactics.  It's also very much a snowball type game.  The better you do, the more neat stuff the game gives you to do better with.  The worse you do, the more the game punishes you.  I guess that means I should be happy the game is pretty easy.  Defense...  doesn't really matter much since Union Plumes aren't that expensive and the revived unit still has their turn, and the real challenge of the game has been trying to consistantly get the best reward at 2x Sin Sought, which the game keeps at the hard but doable rate.

As for PCs.  Wylfred has been a consistantly good unit, with his one range and 4 move made up for by the fact that he has the best stats in the party, and once per battle can double them for two rounds.  Oh, and that double stacks with Might Reinforce, so you can actually quadruple his attack.  This means that the mage is easily the second best character, for he is the provider of Might Reinforce and Sap Guard.  3 Range also helps, as does Great Magics being moved up to around 10-15 Hits making them viable first strike options.  Aside from that, my lancer is definatly feeling the loss of missing whatever treasure Lance it is that get handed out in Chapters 4-5, and nothing really good being made available in the stores, but his combination of range and durability is nice.  The samurai with 5 move helps the fact that he has only one range, and I gave him the Transposition  skill, for all that I think it may have been better on the lancer.  And Chalipha, the archer, is awesome.  Has a great storebought bow combined with 4 Range, means that she excells at being a part of every rush, and is good at triggering attacks after the close range fighters use Dash to close in.

So, really, the only person I don't use, and don't see any use for, is the brigand.  Same movement as the Samurai, but effectively half the range (think Range 1 in FFT, so doesn't get the diagonals), and bad durability.  Helps get more cash, I guess, but I haven't hit a cash crunch in a long time, and it costs Exp to get this cash.  And, her Feather ability is pretty awesome too, so the only thing saving her is that, at this point, I'm pretty happily settled onto the A Ending path and don't want to toss it away now that it cost me my shot at having a scottish spellcaster.

Nearing the end of Chapter 5, I think the game won't be too much longer.  Though, it's very much a replay game, so this doesn't sadden me too much.

Mass Effect-Started this yesterday. So far it's been pretty good. I'm going with a Paragon Male Infiltrator, if I ever replay it I'll do a Renegade Female something or other. Combat is interesting because everyone dies really fast, but they revive after some time automatically so who cares. They don't even seem to miss out on XP. I wish the game had more checkpoints, I died to a Geth sniper on that one lava planet and now I have to redo everything all over again. Stat-wise I've maxed out Charm and Intimidation (for now), and will start plugging points into either Decryption or Electronics. Weapon-wise I've been rocking the pistol with occasional Sniper Rifle backup.

The only character that really stands out right now is Wrex, who gets oddly grouchy when you bring up the near genocide of his entire species for some reason.
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

Chrono Trigger: Beaten.  I've started on a NG+ game, but...ehh, probably going to put it down and play something else; notably I have the Sega Genesis Collection already purchased and waiting to play for PSP, which among other things has Phantasy Star 4 and Dr Robotnick's Mean Bean Machine, both of which interest me.

To Excal, feed at least one member to the feather each chapter just so you can beef up Wylfred, as that makes the second and third cycle much easier. And you literally need 3 cycles to see the whole picture of the game. The routes are constantly shifting base on how many time you use the feather per chapter. Good end is obtained by using no feather at all, but that route is petty difficult, I suggest you save it for the last. At beginning you are default on the good end route, but each time you use the feather, you'll be downgrade to a worse route in the next chapter (and you can't revert back). And if you use the feather twice in a chapter, then you'll go straight into the worst route in the next chapter. Though, never use the feather more than twice per chapter, and if in the worst route, no more than once. Or else you'll face the Ether Strike of doom and have game over. But then... you can use as much feather as you like in ch.5

Selufia = Seena and Lufia? I've only played the American version, so if that's someone's Japanese name, you lost me.

She is a character from Energy Breaker, a game loosely tied to Estopolis (Lufia games). And by loosely I mean the only connection they have is that Energy Breaker tells you where did Brifia Flowers came from. But then, Selufia basically have "I am Erim" pasted over her, especially in retrospect. First, her name is Selufia, and she had that blue hair and blue eye. And after Lufia3's release, people starts to notice that she and Seena looks identical, along with the crystal ball. Oh not add the fact that Selufia is a goddess as well....

Being made by the same company would be a bigger connection, I would think. But sure, I can buy that Energy Breaker is connected to Estopolis. And at this point, I'm willing to accept a multiple-Erim theory. I mean, who's to say that when she resurrects she gets her own body? She's obviously just inhabiting someone else's body as a human. I'm going to apply this to both Irises, Lufia, Seena, and Selufia.

Erim gets one hell of a formchain. Erim2(Lufia2)-Erim2(Lufia1Prologue)-Lufia-Erim1(Lufia1Endgame)-Seena-Erim3(Shadow)-Erim3(Final)-Iris3-Selufia?!

Actually, I have no idea if Selufia has a boss form or not in Energy Breaker, I'm just assuming she does.

Also... does L3 Iris mention Arek in the Japanese version? Apparently she says something like that in the American version...

Blue Vegeta - Long break from this, but back playing new stuff overtaken my lost save info.  So doing a side quest where waaaahhhhh my boyfriend was sent to The NEXT DIMENSION by the village chief (who conveniently has HORNS and a CAPE with MICHAEL MCCONNOHIE if I am not mistaken).  So the village chief is macking on this chick, but she keeps ringing a bell and crying over her lost boyfriend.  So he steals the bell.  Shades of TONY.  I smell some imminent political assassination taking place.
