Dissidia-

Kuja- God, this nerf is massive
Zidane- .........did the people who port this game hates him or something? This is not nerfing, this is shafting the character out of hatred....
Golbez- ....Why did he get a boost despite he really don't have to get any better? Oh well, hail the super combo psychic.
Emperor- Flare is still reflectable...... aerial one only made a little difference. The person who needs real boost doesn't get any.
Tidus- Losing his brave-p combo isn't as bad as I thought. Unlike Zidane, having one more independent hp move actually helps. Energy Rain wasn't nerfed to much and the boost on Spiral Cut is nice.
Jecht- Is also more balanced, Jecht Block is more reasonable now.
Sephy- Does not get the boost he actually need. Amaterasu is a new move that doesn't mater too much. Hell's Gate is still pointless. Shadow Flare actually isn't a good combo starter now. His move still don't come up fast enough. Oh well, at least Hachitou Isen got the priority boost that it deserve. And Sochi/Shinsoku has a boost in hit box and frequency. And no Koku is still useless even after that fix.
Frionel- Is the boost on the priority really needed??? Seems excessive albeit not a bad decision.

Dragon Quest 4 - The Royal Crypt decided to be the Liquid Metal Slime Crypt. I think over half the fights had them.  Killed five. Game has gotten a bit easier - Zenithian Armour cave got a huge nerf in particular; what happened, Dragon Riders? Although some boss I don't even remember (Sir Roseguardin) gave me quite a scare. Nothing exceptionally good overall, but Thwack was decidedly rude even if he only used it once.

Grandia 3 - Replaying this! I was going to do the ALFINA SCC but it was just not happening. Kornell + Iron Fist + two flunkies = basically impossible, I couldn't even begin to do damage without getting raped. Too bad, game was fun (if very challenging) before then.

So I stepped back from my original challenge and expanded it to female PCs only, which means I get Miranda as well, yay. I'm currently up to Randoto Island. Burn has been a workhorse spell for offence, though Howl started to take over more recently and Crackle was always nice for a bitchslap. Tremor is pretty good for swarms, but not too damaging and kinda slow. Physicals start out awful but have been getting better; Alfina's staff from the casino and Ripple Shot in particular have helped.

Dragonfly Toads - Suck. Kinda dangerous when there are five of them but aside from that they do nothing well.
Gilled Pawns - Bomb is a fast, moderately damaging special attack. Fortunately they don't use it often, and aren't too good otherwise.
Gilled Shamans - Horrible monsters on the SCC, less so with two dudes. Howl ties up and does a large amount of damage, Burn is the same minus tieing up, and they don't fail enough to be one-shotted by Burn or Tremor.
Fake Mushroom - Slightly upgraded Dragonfly Toad. Still fails, and they don't even swarm you!
Gilled General - Grand Slam hurts a fair deal, and is stylish. They have pretty good HP but still get one-shotted by Crackle at least.
Tortogator - After they cast Diggin' they are tough to damage with low-end physical stuff but blow up easily before then to magic (Burn one-shots) and aren't much better afterwards.
Zoea - Very dangerous little buggers; frail but they do pretty solid damage that also cancels and sleeps.
Boat Swallow - These guys stand out because they're a "boss" and I have to kill off Yuki/Alonso against them. They do pretty good damage for such swarms but get almost entirely wiped out by a single Howl.
Fishman - They uh can use Snooze! Otherwise they fail but have enough HP to avoid Burn OHKO.
Fishman Captain - They have the most HP so far, first enemy that reliably avoids a Crackle OHKO. But they aren't really too scary offensively (the Zoeas are still the enemy to fear in this dungeon).

I'm getting a much better sense for speeds and timings of various options this time, which is nice. Game is only playable this way if you know what you're doing, but isn't overly hard - no resets yet though I've come close. Of course this wasn't the hard part of the game normally, so... we'll see.

Erwin Schrödinger will kill you like a cat in a box.
Maybe.

Also, kind of surprised to see Djinn hating on BoFV's art of all things. I thought they did a good job of bringing their bleak dystopia to life through visuals.

Oh, nothing wrong with BoF5's cinematography and background design. I actually rather liked the room with Odjn in fact.

It's the fact that all the characters look like melting popsicles and have Post-Op Michael Jackson noses.

how far are you in P4?
Beat Yukiko's Castle. Good stuff. Did a bunch of grinding on Yosuke's S-Link at all possible opportunities and he was at rank 5 for that Dungeon and criticalling things left and right. (Not to mention the awesome R5-boosted Orobas it got me...)

The cast is very... Japanese. Moreso than the P3 cast. Then again, it might be a setting thing. I'm more familiar with country-side Japanese people than city-bred types. The difference between the two is more marked in Japanese culture than in Western culture is my experience. P4 is countryside, P3 is big city... so it makes sense than the P4 crew feels more familiar.

Still -not- digging the familiarity aspect, though. Murder mystery is fun, though. If you guys spoil me on this, I will be severely displeased. *angry face*

As Tidus gains levels, he basically handles much more like his air game. Dodge -> Attack. He just varies in how he does this. He also gains more Blitzball moves.

Twilight Berries are bag drops in Millenium Forest if you have access to it.  Rainbow Feather... well, looks like the enemy that drops that shows up only in the final dungeon on Raze's path, so I bet the dungeon you mentioned is the only place you can find it on Ulrika's path, though it's possible you find them in the final as well?

And yeah, as Unoriginal said, some ingredients only show up on one path.  If you can find Beginning Seeds, grab a bunch of those because Raze's path only gets one in a treasure chest and no others.  Dunno about anything else since I haven't finished that path yet.

And there are some things you can't get on either path and have to wait until the final part I think.

PS: Glad your C8 boss was competent.  Raze's was a complete joke.

I did indeed give up on rainbow feathers and head straight to the final dungeon. Guess what item I found in the first cluster of ingredients on the map? Yeah, I must have dozens of them by now. Beginning seeds can also be found at gather points there, and I wound up having a few left over at the end of Ulrika's path. Hopefully it'll be enough.

C8 boss was mostly notable for being considerably more durable than anything previously encountered.

Anyway, finished Ulrika's path. Last boss was pretty good (on hard mode, at least). Between status hax, stat-downers, high 2HKO offense, and summons spamming MT 3HKO, it very nearly wore me down to exhaustion before falling. I killed it on the last action I would've had before the boss and its newly-summoned mookswarm collectively got their turns, and that would've likely been death considering everyone was at half HP and much worse off for SP.

Started Raze's path, played through the first chapter and a half. Ah, so this is where all the innuendo went. Anyway, having endgame armor/accessories is going to make everything a joke for most of the game, I figure.

Drakengard: RPGs and strategy games are all well and good, but every so often, there's nothing better than mindlessly slaughtering thousands of nameless, faceless soldiers of the Empire.
Using a guide to get the rest of the weapons so that I can see the final ending - swore to myself that I wouldn't start Drakengard 2 until I got all endings in the first, but apparently D2 explains -everything- in D1 - even the giant space zombie babies. This is why I need to finish this ASAP.

Pokeplat: Got inspired to get this running again after having a hearty team discussion over IRC with Laggy, and having a friendly with him with me using an incomplete team and still managing a 3-0 loss (I lost as soon as Laggy tossed out his SDLuke, it was a pretty clean sweep after he managed to set up two SDs... Surprised it had no Life Orb though).

Fallout 3: Started a new game and I'm going to try to play a neutral female. Unlike most people, though, the main problem I'm going to have is not being too good - had to basically steal the contents of a few houses to bring me down after 101 and saving Megaton.

Welcome to everything wrong and stupid about Fallout 3 morality.

Never had that happen Dhyer, but I run the game from memory stick.

Golbez- ....Why did he get a boost despite he really don't have to get any better? Oh well, hail the super combo psychic.

You do realize Golbez got nerfed in more subtle ways, right?  Such like Genesis Rock doesn't work as well as it use to (one example is EX Mode breaks out of it completely, instead of nulling it for a second and slamming you.)

Quote
Emperor- Flare is still reflectable...... aerial one only made a little difference. The person who needs real boost doesn't get any.

The Aerial Flare is a HUGE deal, you fail to acknowledge that.  Think about it for a second; he fires one Flare off, and then can pressure with the other, this keeps the person consistently dodging.  Not all moves can reflect, and there are some characters who flat out CAN'T REFLECT FLARE AT ALL (Kuja, for example; I've tried everything dead on, and nothing reflects Flare.)

Also, his mines work much better than before for a number of reasons.  You're just going with this "Flare is reflectable, loss!" mindset, which is only going to trip up the AI horribly; against a human, the reflectable aspect is only a big deal against a few specific opponents.

Really, you'll looking at things too simplistically.

So I was thinking OH MAN IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE THE BOGEY MAN CAME OUT AND I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT. So I decided to start that up before any console related things. Started off looking good but then it overheated my computer. So that pushes it, and consequently also TOMI 2+, back to late October. On the plus side I might be able to use them with graphics not set to all the lowest settings then.

Ys II - Beaten

Well, it was roughly half again as long as Ys I. Which it needed. Also didn't have any puzzles on the level of USE HAMMER ON ARBITRARY PILLAR FOR REASONS YOU SORTOF FIND OUT LATER. Which it also needed. Did still have a tad too much of the ol' easily overlookable items which necessary some time afterwards (A.K.A. LESS HANDHOLDING/LINEARITY?!?) which is debatable as to whether it's a good thing or not, but I personally do not think especially highly of it. Getting in to see the Roos was also somewhat obscure.

Battle system is still fairly enjoyable. You kinda use Fire Magic 90% of the time after getting it and ignore melee stuff however, especially after getting the accessory that makes it homing. Apparently I missed an accessory that makes it multitarget as well as home, which would have been handy against Zava.

Hm, on the topic of magic... Light Magic seems pretty decent when you first get it, but then they start ignoring it again five minutes later, and give you enough time to forget it exists before they bring back one single further time it's required. Tsk. Return is unnecessary to discuss. Telepathy is fairly awesome, if malnamed. Time Stop is completely worthless; I thought it would have some use during the bell sequence, but no, it's purely battle-oriented, and I'm fairly certain it drains faster than Telepathy so you might as well just use Telepathy. Shield I turned on prior to the final boss fight and it was over before the Shield ran out. Good stuff.

Speaking of boss fights - the god-annoying NO EQUIP CHANGE mechanic was still in play here. The instigator of it needs to be slapped. Once I went into a boss room while I had Telepathy on. It was not the best of times.

Fairly good game all up. They need to port over some of the subsequent ones.

Next up: Valkyrie Covenant. I kind of wanted to play Silmeria before this, but giving it a prereq from a different system that I'm currently covering in itself seems like it could only lead to annoyance.

Played SF4 for the first time at a friend's house.

Didn't play very many characters, because I ended up in a marathon of playing Balrog against another rookie playing Vega and winning every time. Fuck yeah Balrog, though E. Honda was pretty fun too.

Enchanted Arms- Beaten. Yaoi overload in the ending/first scenes vs Infinity + right after. I mean an actual kiss and what not ^_^  Final was easy but drew the fight out with form changing so severely depleted my item stock of all my good HP/EP recovery items. Those were the last fights I had to use them though in so oh well. Boss before the final was a lot more evil than the final was. I had to strategise, play around with my parameters, obtain and grind up one of the temple golems before I defeated her. This involved blitzing the crap out of her before she had the chance to use her Skip Turn special which screwed me over so many times before. Ended the game at L45 AVG w/th all the God Weapons + skills. Didn't do all the temples to unlock and complete the ultimate optional dungeon because I didn't want to be too overpowered for the final fights. No abuse of the Double EXP skill either. Saving that for the replay ^_^

Persona 4- Replay. Chie has her Persona and I'm about to head back to Yukiko's castle ^_^

LoD-[/b No additions Dart/Meru/Miranda party. Just defeated Poltiergiest. Meru picked up Diamond Dust at the end of the Lloyd fight so this was a joke!
