L4D- Crash course is okay; I really hope this isn't the direction they go in for L4D2. The map needs to be more divided up so you aren't punished for mistakes or a bad run of luck. CC's finale is also brutal and you don't get a hell of a lot of options in dealing with it sadly. It sucks to get to a finale, lose, then have to muscle through a long ass level just to try again.

L4D: Played some single-player No Mercy to get a feel for it. It was boring as hell, because the bots knew the level better than I did, and killed most of the special infected before I'd even notice them. So I tried a true solo run, which got me massacred the second a Boomer showed up, but it was more fun before that.

MK - Started it Sunday night. Up to C4, Week 3. Pamela is... unreadable. Really not getting anything from her. The Flay is made of awesome and win, and I am SO GLAD I finally get to use him. Jessica and Nikki are annoying, and I wish they die. And Vayne is there to provide funny funny perspective by way of not being insane. Heck, his cat is crazier than him. Aside from that, plot is, uhh... yeah. Tony is the best part of it, honestly. Him and the goon squad. So great. Especially when The Flay is around. Also, gathering ore class is EVIL. Could NOT reach one of the two areas I needed to. Can't believe I got a C because the supposed 'path' didn't exist.

Paths can be tricky to find sometimes, but I'm pretty sure all the classes can be A'd first shot. Not recalling that mission in specific, tho.

The ore class is a pain, yes. The path is REALLY well hidden. Worst one in the game for it.

GoC4- Picked up my playthrough of Nemo's Campaign while carting to and from the city this weekend. Pretty much bumrushed it with Patton and Jackal. The last part was a bit tough, as 10 S and A commanders coming at you at once in an area of the map that you probably have no troops left in can leave you scrambling a bit. Capturing and converting Klein pretty much won me the game, as she's easily the best commander bar-none to take on dragons with. Dishing out 1k+ is par for the course for people like Hiro and Jackal, but she takes only ~80 damage per hit, which is 3-4x less than any other one takes.

Hatbotted my next playthrough. Moonlight Militia it is! Not that it'll be touched for a good while... Woo 7th playthroughs.

Hey, I average only 1 friendly fire incident per game any more.  As long as I'm not using a shotgun...and I still average the least friendly fire incidents!

Nah, even aside from the part where I suck, the actual gameplay was ass. Like I said to Super, you're either shooting (zombie) fish in a barrel, which is boring, or you're getting mobbed by overwhelming numbers that are guaranteed to kill you no matter what you do, which is boring; there's no in-between. Either way, I'd rather be playing something that has enemies that are actually fun to fight, and genuine level design instead of an RNG.

Edit: Which reminds me! I never finished Painkiller.

FFFuck the Labyrinth of Time1:

So I beat Whisperwind Cove last VIOLATE LABYRINTH OF TIME WITH ACID night. It was about what I remembered, with several cute floors and finally non failHATEHATEHATEHATETIMEDUNGEONBULLSHIT random encounters. I was sick of shitty XP from Black Goblins or whatever the fuck they were. The variety was nice with the sole exception of Devil Wizards. A few battles went like this: Ambush, HI I'M A SHITTY TIMED DUNGEON GIMMICK AROUND PUZZLES FUCK ME WITH A TIRE IRON, Flare for 500 damage, pray you kill it next round before another Flare comes and wipes you out. I shudder to wonder if you can encounter more than one at once. Besides CUT OFF YOUR OWN HANDS RATHER THAN PLAY THE LABYRINTH OF TIME IT IS PURE BULLSHIT that it was pretty cool. Chupon was an easy gimmick boss, Ultros barely put up a fight. Now the Phantom Train was a lot harder. It only has 9999 HP, but it usually uses Acid Rain for around 300-350 HP every round. I lack a White Wizard, so healing this efficiently without using Megaelixirs is tough. Still nothing OH HEY, WHAT THIS GAME NEEDS IS A RANDOM DUNGEON DESIGNED AROUND FRUSTRATING PUZZLES WITH A TIME LIMIT! NOW THIS IS FUCKING ACES FOR GAMEPLAY, BOYS AND GIRLS! IT'S JUST LIKE BEING PUNCHED IN THE KIDNEYS EVERY TIME YOU PLAY IT! too terrible, but an interesting gimmick. Doom Gaze was a piteous joke, he was all physical attacks. Stacking Invisira and Protera turned the fight into a snicker-fest. Lightbringer was worth the hassle for my Red Wizard and I also got a Black Garb for my Ninja. Score.

I also grabbed Masamune and got to near the end of the Temple of Fiends Revisited. It was that or slog through Omega and fuck that noise. In IT IS SAID THAT OVER 1,000 RED CHINESE SHOT THEMSELVES RATHER THAN PLAY THE LABYRINTH OF TIME TRUE STORY IT IS POISON effect, I'm done with FF1 PSP. There's another bonus dungeon, but eh. I don't really like it, you know?

Djinn love you long time.

KHDS- Day 76, give or take.  Remains fun.  Enemy variety is low so far, but that's probably because I've basically only been to two worlds.  Had the first boss fight I'd catagorize as "required effort", but apparently Axel is well stocked and used many Potions on my behalf.  Does highlight a slight weakness in the system though.
Basically, instead of having separate equipment, weapon, skill, and item slots, you have one big board you put panels (which correspond to these things) on.  Magic naturally is a type of panel.  However... you essentially get one casting per panel equipped.  You can equip more, and there are other panels that exist entirely to 'link' other skills to to increase their effect, notably ones like Triple Cast which, of course, give you 3 casting of any spells linked to it.  Thing is... those castings still have to last you from when you start a mission to when you end it.  Ethers are of limited value because they just restore 1 casting per spell so... yeah, against an actual, threatening boss you kinda run out of spells well before you'd like to.
It's not UNFORGIVABLEEEE or anything, just more limiting than I'd like.  Maybe some later skills mitigate this better (a la MP Rage/Haste, though obviously adapted in some manner).

Otherwise, plot's just gotten around to really doing Xion stuff.  Even knowing in advance the spoilers involved, the actual effect watching it play out is startling.

DQ4:  Got to Egg Fu and Chicken Who Gives A Crap.  They handed my ass to me right easily.  Not too sure I care to play more right now; I'm at level 33-34 and will probably need to grind a little to beat this boss, and... eh, whatever.  I've played the main game through already.  Only real reason to keep playing is PC Psaro, and he's not even really around except to fight Aamon apparently.  Eh, DQ4DS disappoints again, no real shock there.  I'll come back to this aftergame when I have the time, but right now I'd really rather play FF4DS if I'm not doing anything productive.

Duuuuude, you got pretty fucked up introduction.  Did you dickheads take him into an expert game or something?  Or worse, did you take him into an Easy one?  Did you do Survival?

Fuck that.  If you didn't do it when you played, give it another go on Advanced doing Blood Harvest or something Shale.

Edit - That is the game should be played at a level where it isn't overwhelming or not threatening, do know how well tuned it is these days though.

So if I'm reading this right, FF1PSP's best new feature compared to Dawn of Souls is giving the Soul of Chaos bosses music from their home game, instead of one of the fiend battle themes <_<?

Also, Dune, you made my day!

Dissidia: Beat Shade Impulse a 2nd time, Squall went through SI3, I said "fuck it" on the final stage, and just blitzed to Garland, cause I just wanted it done; I know I'm not getting 100% this time around...nor will I next cause I still only have 3 stars.  Meh, will replay with Cloud or something, crush it since he's level 100, then play it a 4th time (-_-), with who I don't know.

Cloud and Firion have both reached level 100, and have equips at least on par with level 92 stuff, as does Terra; all 3 have their level 92 Exclusive.  Sephiroth and Squall are in the 70s, but Squall is mostly cause of SI3 (and me resetting a few times to get his levels up for those stupid timed DPs! *shakes fist* Good thing I completed them, now I can be less anal about them for % purposes), Sephiroth I'm actually raising...

I had 14 Hi Elixirs...which is 1 short of getting the 5th Beastlord Horn needed for Masamune...so I go fight a level 100 Sephiroth equipped with a Gae Borg for a bit using one of my level 100 characters, until he Component Drops one...eventually I say "Fuck it, I'll grind for one more Hi Elixir"...sure enough, that fight, Sephy drops the needed component!  Note that part of the reason I did this is cause I needed some Oath Crystals anyway, so I figured kill 2 birds with one stone, no?

Anyway, got a Masamune, but Sephy can't equip it yet due to only being level 70!  I think have enough Spears and/or Katanas to last him for those levels in between though.  Got a bunch of other random equips and I looked at Super Ribbon's reqs and cried.  I also have Zidane's level 92 Exclusive, The Tower, but that just sort of happened by accident (I was randomly buying level 50 Exclusives, and I HAPPENED to have all the reqs needed for The Tower somehow, so I figured why not?)

Megaman Starforce 3:
Mild Spoilers below to MEGA MAN PLOT!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
In the middle of "There's a lot of shit going on cause of Noise and shit!" after Geo has finally formed his own Sentai Team.

Its about time Bud learned how to EM Change at will, and Ace is awesome for basically spitting on the whole "Fake Traitor" thing.

You know, the guy whose allied to you, but USE to be on the enemy side...and apparently, still is cause hey, DOUBLE AGENT DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!, thus ends up stabbing you in the back, only to 5 minutes later pull a heroic sacrifice to attempt to make the character end on a positive note?
Ok, maybe I'm just thinking of Gawn a little too much, but quiet!

Ace is awesome, cause the game calls him out on it...but he quite literally just goes "nah, just pulling your leg, I was merely trying to test you at your full strength! That, and made an awesome atmosphere!"  Ace is great foil to Geo, really, in a way that's less annoying than Solo's whole "I'm emo, go away!" nonsense (and the game clearly is NOT hinting that he may show up soon, to be the token dipshit of our team!  Nope, opening certainly didn't show Solo standing with the other 4 EM Wave Changers, and the whole "The 4th guy you wanted to join is beating us up intead cause we're weak!" certainly doesn't sound like him.  Nope, not at all!)  Acid is good foil to Mega too, like this part!

Mega: Alright, time to start beating down on the bad guys.
Acid: The proper term is "Mission."
Mega: Beat them up, Mission, What's the difference?
Acid: The meaning...and the spelling...

That, and the way Mega hates Acid and pretty much agrees with everything Ace says leads to some fun chemistry.  So yeah, MMSF3 is following suit in being the Mega Man series with actual writing and fun characters <_<
