And Djinn: No, just no. Giving Goto plot credit for anything makes baby Jesus cry tears of blood. And not from his eyes.
Not trying to give Goto credit, really, but the anti-hype seems really overdone from what I've seen.

That's easy to say on a vacuum, having only seen one specific scene (and no, that scene has no VA in the US version. No CQ does, before that missed point drives me nuts).

Goto's problem is compounded, though: as Ciddy said, he's not an old man, and he's not treated as a creepy weirdo except by Ulrika/Enna/Chloe, who just ignore him most of the time while he goes free anyway (by the way, the yaoi fangirl thing off Chloe? Entirely out of character if you interpret it that way. It honestly makes sense if you interpret it as her getting off the suffering going on, because that's how Chloe goes, but) and that's hardly the only embarrassing stint he gets into (it is the most, however. The Pepperoni/Goto yaoi facepalming is even pretty par for the course, but the shotacon creepiness with Enna is just sorta scary).

And man, Djinn, I dunno, but my squick tolerance generally starts dwindling when pedophilia vibes begin getting into the fray. That's why that Enna/Goto scene is so creepy in practice, and compounded with all the other insanely weird traits Goto already has. I even found the scene funny to a degree, but it kinda horrified me more that they'd bring that sort of shit up even in jest, and the way how Marta didn't even seem to bring those things up when breaking up with Goto also seems to signal to how they kinda didn't think that very thoroughly as a scenario.

Pedophilia vibe? Is Enna really that young?

Not that it matters, I honestly never felt creeped out by either of the two acting scenes since it seemed pretty clear that they weren't serious (Well, maybe Pepperoni was really getting into it, but who cares?), and it came off as poking fun at yaoi fangirl fantasies (especially in the translation, I thought). Maybe I just know too many yaoi fangirls?

But yes, I watched it in a vacuum, so I'll you at your word that it's worse than what I've seen. But after I watched it, it didn't seem at all as bad as you made it out to be, so I felt I should comment.

Enna is a twelve-year-old boy. My main problem was with just how... graphic they were. "We're gonna shower together and I'll rub your back with my body" (dunno if it was conveyed that way in JP, but that's an actual line almost verbatim in that skit) is the kind of thing you need to be really desensitized to not even blink at, even if it's just a ruse. Your resistance to that kind of stuff seems to be skyrocketing-high, so I'm not all that surprised that you don't seem to find it all that bad, but I honestly have problems stomaching that.

You give MK2 writing too much credit. It's purely about being batshit insane just for the sake of being batshit insane. Anything that could be perceived as satire is merely an accidental byproduct.

Also I don't even want to know what you are doing that saying you are going to rape a tween boy in a shower is a fucking trick.

If it hits you that hard, you could just play Raze path and completely ignore Ulrika path. Unless you just end up feeling the compulsion to see it. Plus, I'm pretty sure you're biting the fact that the CQ exists at all, which is frankly unobjectionable even for the most forgiving mind.

EDIT: Also, it's the reverse. It's the tween boy that says he's going to rub on the furry's body. Yeah, I know this totally makes it all better.

If it's any consolation? That CQ is both entirely optional and actually inefficient from a powergaming standpoint, since Goto's CQ title is one of the worst in the game, and for the goddamned worst character in the game. And he never even gets particularly close into that territory in his non-optional screentime. Doesn't hurt that now you have a way to spend free time besides CQs that actually gives you rewards. Wanton insanity aside, MK2 is a good game, and even the batshit madness has its moments.

So there's this Scribblenauts course, in the Ancient World. When you first go in, you see three samurai on the field. Then a hint message pops up: "For Massive Damage!"

Take a wild guess what happened next.

SRW Alpha - God damn they kept the regenerating tentacle monster that almost made me drop SRW4 right then and there. And this is after trying to kill the GP-02 on a time limit so that I can get it later.

The worst of it is that there aren't many enemies for Getter to build up Morale against, so I couldn't just wreck it with Daisetsuzan Oroshi - thank you for making Choudenji Spin have an A underwater Banpresto, it was kind of the only reason this worked!

Oh, and fuck the hit rates in this game. Three enemies with sub-10 hit rates ALL land shots on Shinobu? Thank you save states for at least letting me change my mind and defend.

Dissidia: Did some more Duel Colosseum stuff, got a bunch of...random crap, including enough Megalixirs to get me 5 Pride of Youths, and ALMOST enough for 5 True Pasts.

Also did TIme Attack with Terra and Cloud.  Terra didn't go over so well cause FUCK Tidus in Crystal World, and the set up was with button commands I'm not use to ("Ok, Tornado is good here...wait, shit, on this set up, its FORWARD HP, not Back! ARGH!" type scenariios, or me trying to hurl Blizzara instead using Holy Combo, which...yeah...), not to mention can't really abuse the EX Form nonsense I built her around for Duel Colosseum and such...

Cloud?  First try, did it in 13 minutes or so, won 10 Megalixirs and 10 Rosetta stone items.  Even though I am more use to how Terra works than Cloud, the main thing Cloud had going for him?  his skill set up was almost identical to what I use; the only difference was Firaga or something was in place where I put Blade Beam, but I rarely use Blade Beam anyway (its a fall back ranged move at best), so it didn't matter.  So yeah, adapting to the Arcade Mode Cloud was incredibly easy...cause its something I'm use too.

Probably go at it again, maybe with Firion or something, cause its a good way to get Megalixirs, and if I fail, its 10 Transmorgridusts, which are also good, cause god knows too many mid level fusions need these damn things (and I need 99 for a Super Ribbon anyway <_<)

Also, got a full Snow Petal set, so yay!

KH 358/2 Days: Bought this, started it up.  I...think I'm still in the tutorial section of the game, cause I'm still learning the basics.  Just did the shit with Laxrene, in any event.

So far though, while my experience is idiotically limited?  Game is shaping up to be what I was expecting and more or less hoping it was.  Finally we get to see an actual side of Orgy 13 that's more than just them being douches, finally we get some insight on Roxas and...yeah, its doing a good job of working its "Prequel to KH2" self.  Gameplay, its KH1 so far, which works well enough for something like this.  I just wish they adopted the old NES style of controls so that A was Jump and B was Attack, since that throws me off at times that they're reversed!

Still, game seems like it should be solid just based off initial impressions.  Crisis Core was giving similar vibes when I first started it, and it generally lived up to those, and the game feels similar to Crisis Core, in how it relates to KH2.  So yeah, looking forward to making actual progress when I sit down and actually play the game <_<

Re: Goto CQ 4

I interpreted that horrifying set of scenes as having a relatively simple but elegant explanation. Chloe transcended mere fictional sadism and became the orchestrator of the player's agony, with Enna/Goto/Pepperoni as her instruments.

Does Chloe do that heavy-breathing half-chuckle thing throughout the game, or is it just in that CQ? Because I'm still getting the whole 'yaoi fangirl parody' thing from this and it continues to amuse rather than disgust (excepting, of course, Marta/Goto being played seriously, that's pretty disgusting).

"Ah ha ha, look at the random shouta and buff guy being tortured by a yaoi fangirl's whims... it's like watching the Kingdom Hearts section at fanfiction.net!"

Just that CQ (she has a -different- chuckle elsewhere). As said before, Chloe seems to be getting off from the suffering she's inflicting rather than the fantasy thing. She's really, really sadistic, but she never even mentions any sort of fetish throughout the game besides -that-. In contrast to Lily and Puniyo (Lily openly fantasizes about Raze/Reicher at one point, and the only reason Puniyo doesn't write yaoi fanfic - besides not being able to write yet - is because the Puni brothers don't let her "read" NSFW stuff), who have quite a wild romantic imagination.

Speaking of Lily's Yaoi fantasies, I just managed to reach that scene.  It, and it's follow up involving Flay and Buffacow, are made of equal parts of win, awesome, and mental trauma.  with Lily being responsible for 99% of the latter.

Enna really needs some kind of upgrade besides stats between appearances, since his moveset is fairly limited.  That said, I did manage to get off a Et/Enna Intimate Strike, which was kinda neat.  If only they actually had the characters interact more in them.  The characters themselves are also growing nicely into their niches.  Puniyo especially seems to be primary healer and just a good user of CS attacks.  Yun is probably my LVP at the moment, though he just got his weakness skill, just in time for Buffacow, which meant he got to help out a lot in building the unite guage so I could deal some real damage.  Meant that everyone else with their timed hits could do their job of creating insane 70 Hit Chains to boost the Intimate/Finishing Strikes.

Last real comment is that I really wish that Puniyo's CQs had focused on her rivalry with the cat as opposed to the bad gang anime rip off what is the Puni Gang story.  It is kinda hilarious.

I fully support and endorse Snow/etc on Goto and I'm normally for small/cute/fluffy things! I allow leeway for character (pretend it's an avatar) depending on battle performance but apparently Goto doesn't even have that going for him (and usually the characters I allow that leeway for are annoying/sugary and well .. not Goto). Ugh.

Lily mental trauma is awesome what are you talking about. If anything, the yaoi dreaming is pretty lightweight compared to how Lily madly poisons Whim with her choice of assorted chemical substances.

I don't actually play WoW anymore, but I would highly recommend against trying to compile WoW class stats, that game is basically always in a state of flux depending on patches, and each class tends to have several specs/gearsets to use to be effective.

If you really do want to go through with it, probably the most efficient way to go about it is to take only the latest tier set and then just give every class their best weapon, forgoing enchants and gems and such entirely.  Trying to figure out optimal gear sets for every class/spec would be rather headachey.

MK2 - Jesus christ, that final boss was -insane-. Really fun and crazy fight, took full advantage of the madness MK2's system can pull off. DL-wise, it gets the dubious distinction of being one of those awesome duellers that could quite possibly kick Myria1's ass, but dies horribly at the sight of MIST DRAGON. Rank now.

Also, the ending -ruled-. Too bad they didn't end it with a real fight. You could never get away with that even in the wreckiest school to exist in real life.

And all in all, the game stayed pretty much consistently very solid for what I wanted of it. Great battle system, cool battles. Setting is a comedic trainwreck throughout, which is sorta refreshing (I don't need every game I play to be srs bsns epics, thank you very much), but I wish Extra's level of self-awareness reached there sooner, and I so wish the writing was a lot better than it was. With, say, Phoenix Wright-level wit, or even Soul Nomad-level comedic writing, the game could've been a brilliant comedy. As is, it falls well short of being impressive, although it does entertain nicely as long as you're not too picky and in a bad mood for the day. Taking MK2 seriously at any point may cause you incurable brain damage. Would play again, quite unique and pretty fun. 7/10 should work.

FF1- Testing the DoS fiends. I'll hopefully finish this.

Edit: Question- I'm ending up around level 20-21 for Lich, and in the late 20's for Kary. That sound right for DoS/PSX version, assuming I skip the extra areas?
