SRWW - Mission 10 or something? First pathsplit, Sosuke got the Arbalest and Gauron went gay for realsies. GGG is still horrendously retardated.

So, after testing out a bunch of burned PS2 games for CT, I have a question I hope mc can answer.

Why do game developers hate the second memory card slot?

Yeah, I've kinda wondered this too.  I assume everyone's using the same cheapo program for savegame reading and can't be bothered to change it or somesuch.  Goooo C+P.

So, apparently my Xbox bricked on my brother today. Having had it for... like a year and a half, or so, I no longer have a receipt or a box, but the serial number on the side of the machine is intact. Am I boned or is the serial number on the machine enough?

Should be enough I think, Microsoft have been fairly flexible with this kind of thing.

That said when ours bricked I was so fucking lazy that I just bought another one instead of reporting it, so meh.

You can register your Xbox at xbox.com under their support page.  All you need is the serial number.  It will already tell you how long you have left on your warranty.

If it's bricked via red rings, you should be able to file a repair claim and get a UPS shipping label printed off. If you have a box already, it shouldn't cost anything.  My 360 bricked after a year and got it back one week after shipping it back.  I got a completely different system in exchange and had to transfer licenses of all my DLC, which means you have to download everything back again even my goddamn Netflix account.

Good man.

Fate / unlimited codes: Got this two days ago.  Is fun.  Pulling off anything other then random button mashing is hard with my slowass fingers though.  I can barely pull off a five-move combo...

TO tier thoughts.

Mostly agreed, though I'd switch Chen and Aya. Chen's offense hasn't held up and haste is a decent fallback option for boss fights when Aya's damage is nerfed by resistances or something (actually, it's usually better to just have her haste Patchy/Yuugi/Remilia anyway, as far as total damage is concerned).

Anyway, hacking through the mess that is the floors 10-12 chain right now. Apparently I can also go back for a Nitori/Sanae combo, so I'll do that next.

See, for me Chen is pretty much my single best damage blitzer - 169 speed + Flight of Idaten = tons of damage output. Sure, it's about as much as, say, Iku, hit for hit - but the speed is utterly devastating and the buff just makes it even more inane.

Aya, on the other hand... maybe I'm doing something wrong but on bosses her only use -is- the speed buff, and against randoms the MT wind physical is suddenly failing to cut it (though that's more a case of randoms getting a massive boost these three floors). She's still pretty useful but I'm nowhere near as impressed with her as I am by Chen.

EDIT: Okay, evened out the stat spread a bit, Aya's performing better. Still not Chen (who pretty much was 70% of my damage output against Sanae's FOE) but definitely better. (Also I underestimated Aya's speed buff, the low recovery time helps). Marisa Concentrated Master Sparking and Remilia Spears were the other 30%.

Also, recruited Sanae. Green hair~

In my experience, that's not wholly true if you have a hard drive. Plugging the drive into a different 360 will allow you to use anything saved on it, but only the gamertag that downloaded it in the first place can use it. Other than that, I concur with what everyone else has said (especially Grefter).

<Cid_Samson> I just got them down to just Kaguya, then she OHKOed the whole team.
<Cid_Samson> Like, 5k damage.
<Cid_Samson> What the fuck.

Sums it up easily enough. I guess that was a desperation attack and I shouldn't leave Kaguya for last. Still fucking infuriating given that it was a nailbiter just to wear down the other two and I was all "Okay, there's only one left, this should be manageable." Grrrr.

Rhapsody: Beaten.

You know, I really want to be sarcastic about it.  I really do, but I've lost all ability.  I really cannot go into a hiarlious rant about this game's difficulty.

When I heard "This is the easiest game ever", I was a bit...skeptical.  Seriously, I've heard claims about games being easy, and hey, they've ended up harder than expected!  This isn't to say those games were HARD, but they'd have a competent factor here and there. Like Grandia 1 had the 3 Sergeants Fight, for example, which nearly killed me.

But Rhapsody?  No, it...really does live up to its cliam.  I can't think of a single RPG that is easier.  It makes Legend of Mana look like Kaizo Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn Maniac Mode.  The game's hardest moment would be the first dungeon where enemies 5HKO you, and your resources look almost limited, and the majority of your damage is Single Target and Melee.  No, I'm not kidding; this is really the hardest part of the game.

Randoms just become "Cast Holy, move on."  Later, you add stuff like Storm or Meteor to that, eventually you use Giga Versions cause hey, enemies are not getting OHKOEd anymore!  And you're only really doing this not cause MT damage is actually making things easier...its just faster.  You reach a point where fights are so trivial...like, the only way they'd be easier is to have Earthbound's "Auto Win" style against weak randoms...so you just take the fastest means necessary.

Now, this SPAM MT DAMAGE owuld almost have a flaw of resources...if you didn't level up really fast and levels weren't 100% Healing.

I...just wow, i didn't think you could get away with making a game so easy, but geez.  People were not embellishing ANYTHING regarding this game's difficulty; it is the saddest thing I've ever seen.

Other factors...meh, typical NIS humor, a lot of just isn't refined enough to be actually silly like Disgaea though, and the musical thing felt wasted cause it was really just "FORCED LYRICALS" than actually being integrated in well (with one exception of the game's main theme, which actually did work well in how they used it), which is not really what a musical is.  Which is sad cause the opening number if you leave the game running actually implies that they DID know how musicals work (with silly, over the top visuals, combined with the non-singing character making comments on the side), but chose to ignore it.

Oh yeah, its also like the most uninspired game after the NES era as far as dungeons go.  I don't have to explain THIS point; if you've played the game, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Whatever, game gets like a 4/10 or something.  I'll give it points for trying to be original, but its so dreadfully easy that its boring, and I can't ignore that.  It is ludicrously short though.

Bought KotOR on STEAM, sort of on a whim. What class combo will I have the most fun with? I'm thinking Scout into Guardian with a focus on Melee weapons, and being dark-side-y. Because Good is Dumb.

Yeah, but it's Bioware writing so evil is even dumber.

Soldier>Guardian is your basic melee tree.  But that's boring, so try Scoundrel>Guardian.

True enough, that. But it's been a while since I've eaten a few tasty babies, you know? Plus, I've read that the most fun party members are the immoral/amoral ones, so I might as well go with the flow.

But twisting HK to light-side is so much fun!

Wait, wrong one...

Yeah, HK and Canderous are the better members of your party.

As I said, I think in KotOR 2's cut content you can accidentally doom all organic life. Not immediately, it's more like a long-term thing.

Really? Man, I stuck my mediocrely geared DPS ass in for a random heroic three times and had a group in less than three minutes.

As a tank, the random group finder for me is not a random group finder, it is a button to press where a full group is instantly assembled for me.

Touhou Odyssey: Imperishable Night trio DOWN. That took way too many tries. And a fair bit of grinding--something the game had otherwise been free of, but fuck that fight was painful. Three enemies that like to throw MT damage (usually with status or stat-downers attached), two of which will go ballistic and overkill the party if you kill one of the others. So the only solution is to make sure you kill both of these two simultaneously. This is a bitch to arrange given that one has twice the HP of the other. Argh.

Onwards to floor 13 now. It's...not as painful as it might've been. Sure, teleport puzzle, but the teleporter is right next to the entrance to the level and the branches you warp to aren't that long. It's easy enough to warp out from the dungeon, re-enter, and then reset the teleporter every time you exhaust a branch. Which is good, because the enemies are fast and will kill people in one or two hits sometimes before you can move.
