side note: when I first saw Deadpool (in X-Force #...2?) he revealed his hideous face and said that was what "the big C" did to him. And I'm like, "why would Canada do that?"

He's an absolutely awful comic book artist, who, through coincidence or fate, happened to design some of the most popular Marvel Comics characters. Cable is his other big one.

Whether you want to call this a good or bad thing, in the early '90s, he was the vanguard of the movement that introduced extremely muscular guys and extremely curvy gals (though, to his credit, they also had big muscles), all with extremely dubious anatomy, to comics. And extremely large guns, more extreme than earlier ones. And extreme pouches.

ok, his dudes tend to have more pouches when they're wearing clothing, but you get the idea.

To be fair, in the Marvel universe, Canada is a global superpower, thanks mostly to... people with superpowers. Because they worked with the US on the Weapon Plus program, they had a leg up on researching and putting to use various states of superhumanity.
