What would you do?
« on: January 07, 2009, 04:06:08 AM »
This is a hypothetical scenario I read about. It's an interesting, chewy question that I think is worth asking. It goes as follows:

You are accidentally sent  a confidential email at work. This email states your boss is about to be laid off. Further, you are aware your boss is planning to close on a new house before the layoff date. What do you do?

<Nephrite> That is depressing.
<CmdrKing> I know.  Cid would makea  great princess.

Go to the person who sent the email, tell them you received it by mistake, tell them about your boss's house plans and ask them to straighten things out with the poor guy so he doesn't screw himself financially.  Seems simple enough.

Warn the boss indirectly before the fact, tell him directly after.  Though I can honestly there are bosses who I'd just laugh and delete the email for, but none I've had any time recently.

I don't think I've ever had a boss who I wouldn't laugh in their face under these circumstances.

Tell 'em.
Rocky: you do know what an A-bomb is, right?
Bullwinkle: A-bomb is what some people call our show!
Rocky: I don't think that's very funny...
Bullwinkle: Neither do they, apparently!

I've had some pretty fantastic bosses, so...tell 'em and ask what company they're moving to so that I can follow 'em.
