Music Quiz 2009: The Legend Continues

For your listening pleasure, a 25-part music quiz compressed into a single continuous track.  I had a lot of fun putting this together, so hopefully it will be equally enjoyable to the listeners.  The music in this quiz is on the easy side, but the sample size may be a bit tricky (I originally got the idea after hearing that most people can recognize Stairway to Heaven by its first chord).  Anyway, give it a shot!  This is all in good fun, after all.

Here's a list of segment times to avoid confusion.  For those of you who did the first one of these I put together a couple of years ago, know that there isn't a single track in common between that and this.

I'm surprised at how badly the Suiko tracks did (along with the Lunar 2 track - best track in the game, probably.).  Also, proud to say that I, uh, almost got 1 without having played the game - I thought it sounded like DDS, but since 4 was definitely DDS (remembered it from a Music Tourney), I went with SMT: Nocturne instead.

Also, a PC track in the next quiz?  Interesting...

I also thought the Suikoden tracks would fare better.  I'm fairly shocked that DDS2 performed so well, really.  Biggest surprises, however, were Breath of Fire IV, and especially Wild Arms, both of which I thought would be fairly easy.

I think the second quiz is easier in general than the first one.  Nothing on it, in my opinion, is as tricky as Odin Sphere or SaGa Frontier 2.  Well, time will tell.

Divine Identity is very recognizable, and was a high profile entry in the first big music contest. Shouldn't be that shocking.

Is what my entry looked like.  Feel a bit gyped on the Shining Force one since I recall them both sounding roughly similar, but whatever.  Not too surprised I missed Brahmin since to me it sounded like half a dozen other generic guitar pieces, and...  yeah.  75% correct rate on the Kick Mes, with only one of them (the SaGa2 piece) being something I had never heard before.

That said, I'm pretty shocked at how poorly Reminiscence did, since it's one of the keynote pieces of Suiko2.  I would also be interested in knowing how many other people guessed ShF2 to #21.

I had only played 14 of those games, and only about 8 of them to anywhere near the ends (I'm still playing a lot of them through, my backlog is huge)

So yeah. I wasn't coming anywhere close to winning

Same goes for this leg. A few I know for sure, and like, 5 of them I'm kicking myself for not being able to recognize the game. I still have the PM with the guesses open and not sent for when I finally figure out what at least one of them is

Miraculously, I got 12 of the first grouping rights. I am usually horrid at these. Of course, the of two the weird mixups I had were the ones the quiz creator thought were the easiest! Case in point, I know only about 4 on the second.
