Is there any interest in trying this again? It really seems like an idea that should work, but simplifying the voting process is difficult with this.

For a short time, sure. I wouldn't suggest trying to make it into a long running feature like it tried to be in the early days, and like NR was well past the point where it needed to be euthanized. But a season, maybe 2, followed by another long rest period? I'd be down.

Nama, the Strat League was basically a more story driven version of the DL, where you had characters leading armies, and you voted based on which character or which army would be better in the given circumstance. It ran for three and a half seasons back in the day, lasting for about a year and a half.

I was more aiming for a one season/story arc done on the boards, and maybe as a bonus match or two on the main DL if it's a success.

It sounds really intriguing to me. Especially in light of Andrew's recent fictional exploration of the DL-verse.

Do characters lead armies of from their own game/series? Or is it like "This is the army of DL archers!" Or "This is the army of DL limit bosses!" Or "This is the army of red-haired heroes!" Or "This is the army cobbled together from all the characters in the DL who've ever had police training of any sort." Or... is it "This is the army that Strago sponsored!" Or ... is it even more random than that?

Would be interested in doing some writing for this.

I wouldn't want the strat league to assume Andrew's vision as canon, though one centered around foiling a plot to set up such a scheme could be interesting.

Not sure where my old SL files are. Though, yeah. I do recall the first one involving DL security (as led by Rolf Lansdale) fairly heavily.

What the hell. I'll do something for the forums, and if people are interested in continuing/altering it after that, so be it.

Aborted revival from... late 2005 it seems. Anyway, better idea of how the writeups and scenarios worked, I think? Or maybe I was just looking them up the other day and thought it was funny this topic then popped up.

Yeah, a once-around on the boards would be good. Don't think that a BM connection would be a good idea, though. That's like putting a Cable Show on Broadcast for 1 Episode. Unless the BM had a page's worth of background on its own.

So, any stories lined up? I would think you'd need at least the 1st 3 "steps" planned out (#3 would be kind of loose) before posting Week 1.
