The year is 1985 and America is on the brink of nuclear war with the Soviet Union. The Doomsday Clock is now set at five minutes to midnight, and experts claim that it is only a matter of time. The only thing holding the Reds at bay is America's very own superman - Doctor Manhattan, a true blue American hero. Without his god-like powers America might have lost the Vietnam war to the communists, and the world would be doomed.
Doctor Manhattan is not the only American hero, in fact there is a league of masked men and women that fight the crime that dirties our streets. They are known as the Watchmen (comprised of new members and former Minutemen). They may not have Doctor Manhattan's God-given powers, but they're certainly all true American heroes...

Or are they?

Captain Metropolis [Vanilla American Hero - NPC] was shot dead.

The Watchmen have gathered to discuss the situation.

Day 1 begins. There are 72 hours left until nightfall (10:30am Thursday AEST).

Game rules:
- Americans = Town, Communists = Mafia, ITP = Independant Third Party
- Roles were assigned randomly. It is impossible to infer alignment/role based on character.
- Don't forget to sign into your anonymous account when you post!
- No editing your posts.
- There are no scripted events.
- No talking about the game outside of the thread
- No posting during game nights.
- No spectator posts.
- Do not directly quote your role PM.
- There are no players or parties that would cause the game to end Day 1 or Night 1.
- PLAY TO WIN (as well as to have fun).
- There are no post restrictions in this game.
- Americans must try (lynch), Communists/ITPs must kill
- Days will last 72 hours
- LYLO will not be announced
- Complete role, alignment and player information will be revealed on flip
- There may or may not be third parties.

American roles: Cop, Watcher, Tracker, Bodyguard, Doctor, Bulletproof, Roleblocker, Vigilante, Psychiatrist, Vanilla.
Communist roles: Godfather, Roleblocker, Rolecop, Hitman or Mafia Goon.
ITP roles: Psychopath

I see your game, Ozymandias. Vote for Rorschach under pretense of survival, can't be blamed if I am lynched and search of belongings inevitably reveals commitment to American cause. Clever.

Good point made, though: calling for serious discussion and not taking steps to start such unhelpful at best. Only minor cause for suspicion but enough reason for vote right now.

Makes as much sense as anything else, since lynching someone just for lack of appearance -- especially over a holiday weekend on a Day 1 this goddamn long -- means jack and squat. Not that much of anything makes sense these days. Besides, Dreiberg stayin' shut up is no surprise. He's always been a weepy little nothing.

What's this business with the letter, Mason? You actually expect us to believe that Dreiberg's got enough balls and few enough brains to pull something like murderin' Metropolis and leavin' a note like that? If I'm the only person smart enough to see that either you're bein' played for a fool, or tryin' to play us as one, well... har har. So tell us about this note you supposedly found.

Some time ago, or perhaps right now, I used to fix mechanical watches. They are very intricate machines that require a delicate touch - fragile, yet surprisingly hardy when crafted properly.

Bordering on lynch already? Seems stupid to cut the day so short on "makes as much sense as anything else". Why not try to actually get some input?

Curious why people are so eager to lynch when not everyone's spoken, mostly. Maybe for conversation, but to be bordering on ending the day 1/3 of the way through it seems... odd, to say the least. Looking mostly at Comedian's vote being odd in this situation, seeing as it's L-1.

Otherwise, curious to know what others think of each other and not just me. (Seriously - assuming note is just joke post and not much else, although would like to hear about that if I'm wrong.)
