J'ai vu le film Appleseed.

'88 Appleseed or '04 Appleseed?

Transformers G1 -

Finished season 2. Next up is the movie, which didn't come with the series and I currently have on order.

Season 2 is fairly atrocious on the whole if you're looking for sane plots. Disc 2 of season 2.2 is probably the worst.
Sea Change - Seaspray falls in love with a humanoid who has access to a spring which lets him be transformed into a human himself. When this doesn't pan out as he can't fight any more like that, they both use it to change into robots instead.
Triple Takeover - Not sure whether the writers even knew where they were going this episode. Starts off with Starscream, Blitzwing, and Astrotrain planning to betray Megatron, with Blitzwing and Astrotrain intending to include Starscream in the bargain, which goes off without a hitch, but then... Blitzwing takes over a football stadium and starts misinterpreting the frightened babbling of a team coach as tactical plans, and Astrotrain adds token artificial intelligence to a bunch of trains. Astrotrain's story is probably best displayed by this clip. It's not explained how the trains ended up like they are at the start there - maybe it's supposed to be implied that they're just painfully stupid. It doesn't help that they're on the worst railroads of all time - in addition to the track that runs straight into the wall as seen there, earlier on they were opening electrical cables which were hanging low enough across the tracks to allow them to just run into them. Furthermore, the water main that's ruptured there floods the city to several stories deep in a matter of minutes. Blitzwing's insanity results in a number of Autobots being thoroughly crushed (literally) which was a nice change, but by the end of the episode they're all back on their feet without having been tended to somehow. Um.
All up, the episode does lead to this exchange at least.
Prime Target - A big game hunter is aiming for Optimus Prime's head.
Auto-Bop - The decepticons are running a disco which is hypnotizing people into constructing a building the purpose of which is never revealed.
The Search For Alpha Trion - FEMALE AUTOBOTS
The Girl Who Loved Powerglide - A girl falls in love with Powerglide sort of. He doesn't appreciate it. At one point he punchs her to the ground at one point which is not really something you see Autobots getting up to but sadly I cannot find a clip on short notice.
Hoist Goes Hollywood - Hoist gets noticed by a bigshot director and invited to work on movies. A bunch of other Autobots get in on the action only to find that it is not what they expected.

And of course there is the final episode of season 2 which is pretty atrocious in general and should be read about.

Zambot 3 -

Started watching this. Not much to say about it yet. So far Butcher is nowhere near as fabulous as SRW had for some reason made me expect. It is saddening.

My favorite episode of season 2 was "The Golden Lagoon."

Something about the decepticons finding this invincible gold cover, but all they used it for was figthing each other in a playful manner amused me.

Finished Aquarion TV.

The later parts of the show had issues, though I wouldn't quite go so far as to say that it fell apart. The problem to me is that they ended up trying to tell a serious plot based on characters from a absurdist episodic hijinks show. Sketchy world/background development and characters that only develop in fits and starts is fine for a show about beating the monster of the week via Fudou's latest wacky proverb and increasingly bizarre new finishers, but for something trying to tell a dark, serious plot it's unsatisfying.

The Apollo/Silvia romance stands out as something that really had issues to me. Specifically (spoiler tagged, just to be safe): they start off the show bickering endlessly, then suddenly there's significant (mostly reincarnation-based) development in episodes 12-14, then it just halts again for nearly 10 episodes, seemingly because they don't want to change the show's character dynamics while there's still goofy MotW episodes to go. Then by episode 24 they're deep into the serious plot part, so all of a sudden they officially make the plunge to True Love Spanning 12,000 Years territory. Oh, and while the ending was pretty good otherwise, it seemed more conducive to yaoi jokes than to selling ApolloxSilvia as the One True Love of the series.

Fun watch all in all. It's perfect for SRW, between the crazy variety in attacks, the obvious Getter homage, and a bunch of plot scenarios even wackier than anything Banpresto has come up with on their own. Hope it makes more appearances in the future. I'll try out the OVA next.

That's... pretty much why I thought the series fell apart. Also, the second OP was terrible, and having it replace the first during Aquarion's moments of awesome ruined them. And yeah, yaoi jokes abound for the ending, but I liked it less for ApolloxSilvia relationship for the characters themselves and more for their Xenogears-esqe acceptance of their reincarnating love.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of that insert song either. I had my doubts, but this show really is the successor to Utena in some ways.

EDIT: Something interesting from GameFAQs, apparantly the Cybodies are based on the Phoencian alphabet.

SRWOG2: Surprisingly not terrible. The first episode was really promising - instead of Lamia's fight with random Neo DC goons that starts the game, you have Archibald getting ready to send out Yuuki and Carla's Guarlion squad to fight the ATX Team, while Thrudgelmir appears out of nowhere to run interference for the escaping Crusaders, and Archibald's higher-ups tell him to just accept it and be grateful.. So they're actually weaving OG2's scattered plot and character threads together with something approaching skill, and then Angelg makes its entrance by descending from on high like...well, an avenging angel (with robonipples). So the stage is set for a friggin' awesome battle to open the second episode!

Except that episode 2 proceeds to skip ahead half an hour or so, after everybody mentioned above returns without incident to their respective motherships. No ATX/DC/Thrudgelmir/Angelg fight scene...hell, Lamia does nothing but float around uselessly and talk funny for the entire episode. I was trying REALLY HARD to be bitter about that. Then RyuOhKi and KoOhKi showed up and tore Archibald and his goons a bunch of new orifices. And it was awesome.

Star Driver Ep.3- I must say I ma very fond of Mrs. Watanabe.
And Takashi kun, you are a haraguro who wants to eat the maid and the waifu alive, aren't you??
If this is going to grow into a love triangle, I see it much more entertaining than whatever that red haird monkey can offer.

SRWOG2: First three episodes. Not really digging it. Too much talking, not enough robots waring.  Really, do we need Excellen to tease Bullet every episode?

I swear if they show the Edo route over Abiano I will rage.  You can't pass up on RHB.

Also, am I the only not surprised by the lack of Ibis in the OP and END?  Least meaningful SRW main character, yes! Hopefully she gets no screentime!

The visuals were nice at times, but it was just a mess as a movie. Utterly boring. It was less artsy and more fartsy. Rintaro totally botched it.

To Aru Ep.3- .....JC is the team in charge of this right? God, they can all die now. Skip the awesome fight scene for some pointless moe? God, burn in hell, burn in the depth of hell. They need a team who does not misunderstand the nature of the novel to do the anime.
I am now worried about Railgun's second season. They'll probably turn it in to pointless Mugino moe too when the manga did a good job on depicting Misaka's despair.

I don't know, the feeling I got from JC is this: "fuck original novel fans, we are going to appeal to otaku who cares nothing but moe".

What awesome fight scene got skipped? (The only good part about that last ep was crazy killer nun)

The fight with Amakusa is really really rushed. And some of the serious moment got twisted so it can look moe. Even the fan translated novels on bakatsuki is better than this.
