One Piece - still slowly watching this. Around episode 65? They just got to the Grand Line (finally! That crappy Dragon filler arc was making me physically ill). I'm not quite sure how I feel about the whole series so far. It definitely seems like it's got a good setup, but the actual adventures plod along so slowly that it's hard to stay interested in it.
Nami and Sanji seem to be really solidly-developed characters, whereas Zoro and Luffy kinda piss me off. Usopp, at least, is consistently fun to watch, though somewhat grating. Guest characters are generally forgettable outside of their design. I generally like the aesthetic, despite its weirdness and the fact that there's clearly a lot of influence from Toriyama. It's kind of like what I imagine Toriyama always WISHED his art looked like - surreal and stylized, but actually unique from character to character.
The music is pretty terrible though. For such an iconic series, I was kind of hoping to actually like some of the theme songs to make good karaoke fodder, but so far none of them are any fun...
Despite that, I -really- liked Nami and Sanji's arcs, and now that they're exploring the Grand Line, it seems to be picking up again, so I'm going to stick with it, though if anyone can warn me about anymore of the filler arcs, that'd be great. Apis and the Millenium Dragons arc almost killed me. Die in a Fire, Apis.
Valkyria Chronicles anime: Same as the PS3 game, only now Alicia is a screeching harpy tsundere. On the plus side, the generics get more screen time! I just wish Vyse was one of the main ones ;_; Pretty pretty art~
