Time for an omnibus post, since I'm bored at work!
Monster- Was awesome. More people need to watch this. Shame on people for dismissing my attempt at bringing back the Monster fad ;-;
Seto no Hanayome- Started this up concurrently with Monster to balance it out with a fluffy romcom. Wasn't expecting something so... hyper. There are a lot of reasons I shouldn't like this show, but I honestly can't bring myself to. I DID like this show better when it was called Urusei Yatsura though. It think it works for me since, unlike UY and a ton of other romcoms, San, the lead female, is actually likable (to me). Especially when she goes into chivalry mode. Arnold Schwarzenegger-like character (who comes complete with the Terminator 2 drum cue) rocks, as does Masa. The main lead... I'm indifferent to. Not bad, but still pretty staple harem lead despite his sticking with one girl. Poor class prez.
Allison and Lillia- Totally loving this show. Had high hopes for it at the beginning, and it's totally met my expectations. It's one of those throwback type shows that end up being everything you loved about the style of yesteryear, from the animation style, to story structure and characters, and so on.
Kurenai- On the flipside, I really was digging this show early on, but it's starting to wear thin. Needs to do... SOMETHING. I know it's slice of life, but damn. Also, NEEDS MORE GINKO.
Amatsuki- Another show I had hopes for in the beginning, though I have less hope for it now than Kurenai. It's far less unique than Kurenai and with each ep it takes a further step down the road of mediocrity. Some of the character design needs work too...
Nabari no Ou- Not a bad show. Swordgirl needs to be taken out of the damn show, or at least be made a ninja. Her personality is fine, but that damn sword annoys me. Was it really THAT necessary?
Soul Eater- Fun as hell, stylish as hell, enjoying the hell out of this show, obviously. Despite the usual character archetypes, they use them in just the right way and the show is just cool enough to pass muster. It's only problem is the standard Japanese pitfall of ruining awesome moments with comic relief. Why does the Maka remind me of Mamimi from FLCL? Is Hiromasa Ogura the animation director? ::Checks ANN:: Huh. Nope, and the character designer's other stuff doesn't really look like this either. Odd.
