I am on.. episode 65 of Bleach.

This is an interesting anime for me. I find that the music, character interaction and dialogue is done very well. At times though, the dialogue can be very sappy, or exhaustive because I don't find some of the things they say to be realistic or contingent to the event.

But the pacing and fighting scenes are sooooooooooo boring. There's been a few fighting scenes that I really liked, such as Ichigo and Bakuraya Kuchiki, but because the pacing is so drawn out, there dialogue is too verbose and filler. I guess this rings true in some of the non-battles, such as when Inoue or some other chap constantly explains what's going on, whose power is what like a tutorial. B-o-r-i-n-g. Not to mention it's constantly repeated in pieces by other characters! Ugh.

Right now, I'd give it a 7/10.

It's Byakuya. Also, I'd suggest stopping where you are now since it only gets worse in all ways from here :/

I was wondering if it was that or Bakuraya. :P Stop now!? When they leave the completely blindsighted plotwist with Aizen (that failed??)

So I'm not the only one who hates Aizen. Awesome.

For a long while nothing happens and then the plot recycles itself with MOAR HOLLOWS, is the thing. Ask Meeple or Andy for more details.

Manga's not that bad for speeding through plot (plus isn't too bad 'cause of how much is already available). No idea about the anime, though.

As for Aizen, I hated him too. Hated Gin more though. >_<

Ahh. I'm not as interested in Aizen's failed plot-twist arc more than I am about Ichigo's bankai form and the fact that I think he's exactly what Aizen wants. I mean, since it seems that Ichigo is being hyped so much, as are his skills, by absolutely everyone in the anime, it seems like a logical deduction. Otherwise, there doesn't appear to be any way that the team could contend with an enemy of unending power.

I mean that half hollow mask that shows up. I suppose I'll take a week off from Bleach and continue with Berserk and Sayonara ZS.

Nanoha StrikerS, up through episode 9.

8 and 9 are definitely my favorites so far; 8 for HOLY HELL NANOHA?! and 9 for "Going Beyond the Impossible: The Long Term Consequences". Also, the action in 8 was easily the best in StrikerS so far, if a bit brief.

Honestly? Bleach is a lot better than the flack it gets. Not to say it is good or anything, but I do actually find it to be enjoyable (otherwise, well, why would I be reading it?). You just need to approach it with the right mindset. Which is to say, you are reading for pretty pictures, character/power design and occasional glimpses at writing with actual potential. Kubo has some awful issues with pacing and character management, but if you aren't horrendously offended by it, you can still enjoy it. It isn't good! But you can enjoy it.

Anyhow, if you want to keep with it, I recommend swapping to the manga and staying there. Lets you power through the mediocre and enjoy the good.

SPEAKING OF BLEACH THOUGH

Priceless. Even as a fan of Hitsugaya, I found that to be hilarious. Given that a picture speaks a thousand words... There be spoilers from the newest Bleach chapters in these.

Nice.

Kill Japan's #1 favorite character? Naw. He's definately down for the count though. Hitsu is a jobber and will always be a jobber.

Niu: I don't hate Hitsu. I just think the way the scene was done is hilarious.

Anyhow, UD: Not really. Tessai, Hachi and Urahara are all around and theoretically available to save him. And this is setting aside the possibility that he could somehow salvage enough of his bankai to keep himself alive.

Honestly, I'm predicting RESOLVE Momo, though.

No, he will live because if Kubo was directing Hamlet, the ending would be the entire cast waking up in their respective beds with doctors waiting around to tell them what nasty flesh wounds they all had.

Why Jump's poll system sucks. It is easily flooded by the fan girls, who are not even half as much as the post cards they sent out.

Steel God Jeeg

Decent. Some of it is a bit too childish for my tastes, but it's nice overall. They don't seem to be able to keep the time-related shenanigans of the zone straight which is a tad disappointing but not entirely unexpected.

The scene where Hiroshi and Miwa meet back up is somewhat confusing. Initially it seems somewhat touching as he sees her as she used to be due to his blindness, then he starts seeing her as she currently is which renders the whole thing inane, as either he's already recovered by that point and the whole he-cannot-see-thing from earlier was pointless, or his sight came back midway through the meeting and they didn't convey this anywhere near well enough.

I find myself wondering how well it meshes with the original series.

So I watched the second half of the Tales of the Abyss anime finally. It was fun. TotA has a decent main plot going on with the whole "What would the world be like if everyone could -literally- read the future". And I like Van's motivation even if the rest of the villain cast is mostly meh (not Dist).

However, seeing all of the plot so close together, it's a lot easier to see Anise's stupidity in her betrayal... They really did need to make Mohs' threat more credible somehow...

However, all of my opinions and revelations about the game are menial in comparison to this amazing discovery!
http://yourtalesoftheabyssepisode.blogspot.com/2009/02/tales-of-abyss-22.html

Ep22, there is a short scene of the group reaching the top of the Tower of Rem where they encounter Dist, who sends his robot after them as usual...

But what?! It turns out that Dist is actually -piloting- this mech! Go ahead and watch the episode, this part is near the beginning (about 5 minutes in). He lands the mech, opens the hatch for a minute to call out Jade, then they proceed to battle as usual.

It's something they didn't show in the game, but this source is as canon as anything.

And with mech pilots like Tony (WA4) around, it means that Dist the Runny -does- have a rankable form!

FW time!

Also, the ending of the anime was a bit more detailed than the game ending, which was kind of nice.

Watched Gravion and Gravion Zwei on a whim. Came in with low expectations, but the show was enjoyable enough if not very deep. Quick thoughts:

-Sandman is ludicrously badass. This is probably the single most expressed sentiment about the show, and for good reason. The only negative is that the show took way too long to actually get him into the fighting, though he certainly made up for lost time.

-Luna was rather cute, both in design and personality. Second favorite character in the cast.

-Mizuki on the other hand is a surefire bet for a breast-off with the Russian dominatrix from Godannar in SRW someday. Her design works for a certain sort of grotesque comedy, but it really kills any attempt at fanservice involving her.

-Leele looked pretty in a dress, but wasn't especially attractive to me. Ena was a mostly useless character designed to pander to certain audience types; Maid + Glasses + Clumsy is literally the sum of her personality for most of the show.

-Eiji was something of a dumbass, although him being stuck in the feet was amusing. Also, the writers kept finding newer and more creative ways to get him to crossdress.

-God Gravion's mech design was pretty neat. Sol Gravion was more powerful but I didn't like its design quite as much. Ultimate Gravion... well, I didn't get a good look at it. <_<

-I realize that romance wasn't a priority for the show despite the harem-ish setup, but it felt like the wires got crossed between the two seasons. Toga x Leele just came out of nowhere in the middle of Zwei, going against what little romantic sentiment the original series had.  I ended up liking the pairing despite both characters being a bit meh just because the combined social naivety of the two is staggering. I keep imagining someone (probably Mizuki) trying to teach those two sex ed and wishing there wasn't literally zero fanfiction for the show.

I dunno... the scene in question doesn't really show where Dist is most of the time, he could very well be in the mech or be thrown free of it.

And the scene after battle shows the mech being open just like in the episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbIeBTwv92w&feature=related
