Doesn't Malak's offense increase against opponents with high resist? Tricia's in trouble.

Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Chie Satonaka (Persona 4): Opens with his haste. Now if Chie ever powercharges, Kresnik defends, throwing in an attack first if it's a doubleturn (which he'll get a lot of.) Chie will only land a power charged god hand against a defeinding Kresnik, then he just heals that off. Nothing else Chie has is threatening to Kres.

Ghaleon (Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire III): I assume, anyway.
Profound Darkness (Phantasy Star IV) vs Empyrea (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King): Way more HP and isn't walled.
Hrist Valkyrie (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) vs Dr. Psyche (Mega Man X: Command Mission): Second form spoils melee.
Brooklyn 'Bullet' Luckfield (Super Robot Taisen Series) vs Giratina (Pokémon): Ghost typing wins ANOTHER match. Bad CK!

Heavy

Auron (Final Fantasy X) vs Queen Zeal (Chrono Trigger): Auron really can't deal with Hallation.
Ephraim (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) vs Ultros (Final Fantasy VI): Eph has an argument to dodge one Imp Song then OHKO... but eh, going with the one who doesn't need two shaky judgement calls.

Mmm. Don't see why Chie can't spam her physical in that case and wait for a knockdown. Krensik's lack of damage means she should have enough time for that.

Ghaleon (Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire III) - Turn get.
Profound Darkness (Phantasy Star IV) vs Empyrea (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King) - Wee bit of a durability difference here.
Hrist Valkyrie (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) vs Dr. Psyche (Mega Man X: Command Mission) - Yeah.

Auron (Final Fantasy X) vs Queen Zeal (Chrono Trigger) - *Facepalm.*
Ephraim (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) vs Ultros (Final Fantasy VI) - The evade doesn't really matter here, Ultros goes first and doesn't get doubled.

Middle

Slime Knight (Dragon Quest V) vs Teddie (Persona 4) - Far better at the same game.
Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Chie Satonaka (Persona 4) - Giant hand dropping a Bridget on him.
Ilia Silvestri (Star Ocean: First Depature) vs Slime (Dragon Quest V) - Eh.

Light

Tricia (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters) vs Malak Galthana (Final Fantasy Tactics) - ...
Lucied (Wild ARMs Series) vs Vitali (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters) - Vitali's offense is just too awful and Lucied has actual durability. The parasitic healing ain't really doing much here.

Brooklyn 'Bullet' Luckfield (Super Robot Taisen Series) vs Giratina (Pokémon): Um... Ghost vs. SRW attacks... hm... EDIT: sure, beam can get through, OG1 form wins then with Alert spam or something.

Heavy

Ephraim (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) vs Ultros (Final Fantasy VI)

Middle

Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Chie Satonaka (Persona 4) - EDIT: The problem I see with Kresnik Adrenaline Rush hype... is that Chie gets her first turn faster, so unless he immediately gets another turn from Adrenaline Rush (I think not), Chie just smashes.

Godlike

Ghaleon (Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete) vs Ryu (Breath of Fire III): Goes first, uses IRT Kaiser, sort of just destroys Ghaleon from there.  IRT Kaiser cost too much for Ghaleon durability you say?  Tiamat gets the job done just as well.
Profound Darkness (Phantasy Star IV) vs Empyrea (Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King): Durability difference.
Hrist Valkyrie (Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria) vs Dr. Psyche (Mega Man X: Command Mission): Hrist doesn't do particularly well against Godlike bosses in general.
Brooklyn 'Bullet' Luckfield (Super Robot Taisen Series) vs Giratina (Pokémon): Can't vote.

Heavy

Wylfred (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume) vs Angeal Hewley (Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII): Can't vote.
Roddick Ferrance (Star Ocean: First Departure) vs Shaymin (Pokémon): Kills on Turn 2 at worst, where it either double turns and smites, Ratix has gotten nailed with -2 SDef, he has used Growth on turn 1, or something like Grass Whistle kicks in...obviously, this assumes Skymin.
Auron (Final Fantasy X) vs Queen Zeal (Chrono Trigger): Was thinking Auron might be able to KO Zeal due to being 1 HP...but then remembered the speed difference allows Zeal to manipulate the fight so she doesn't have to worry about that.
Ephraim (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones) vs Ultros (Final Fantasy VI): Yeah, Goes first, Imp Song works.

Middle

Slime Knight (Dragon Quest V) vs Teddie (Persona 4): Can't vote.
Viola (Eternal Sonata) vs Merric (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon): More unvoting.
Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Chie Satonaka (Persona 4): Yep.
Ilia Silvestri (Star Ocean: First Depature) vs Slime (Dragon Quest V): I did not think about this fight at all.

Light

Jagen (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon) vs Healie (Dragon Quest IV): Cant' vote.
Tricia (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters) vs Malak Galthana (Final Fantasy Tactics): Nor here.
Millie Chliette (Star Ocean: First Departure) vs Sanaki (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn): I...think...Sanaki...eventually wins...thanks to Flare...and Arcthunder Crit Hype...DEAR GOD.
Luceid (Wild ARMs Series) vs Vitali (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters): can't vote.

Middle

Slime Knight (Dragon Quest V) vs Teddie (Persona 4)
Viola (Eternal Sonata) vs Merric (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon) - My kneejerk was 'Counters, Merric wins!', but that durability is not good, while Viola's surprised me.
Kresnik Ahtreide (Wild ARMs 4) vs Chie Satonaka (Persona 4)
Ilia Silvestri (Star Ocean: First Depature) vs Slime (Dragon Quest V) - Beats your average slugger. Rank now.

Light

Jagen (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon) vs Healie (Dragon Quest IV) - Hoemi tactics!
Tricia (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters) vs Malak Galthana (Final Fantasy Tactics) - Well, at least you got -one- win, Tricia. *pat pat*
Millie Chliette (Star Ocean: First Departure) vs Sanaki (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) - Counters > Healing? Not sure, could change.
Luceid (Wild ARMs Series) vs Vitali (Soul Nomad & The World Eaters) - Don't care, using super's reasoning.

If you're hyping galactic punt, followup attacks don't always kick in (and I'm not even sure it's possible for the person who scored the knockdown to do the followup attack - I sure never saw that in game.)

If you're hyping All-out attack, those aren't much when done by one person. Certainly not OHKO level.

Roddick Ferrance (Star Ocean: First Departure) vs Shaymin (Pokémon) - Think Ratix may have the speed and damage edge.

Are you seriously suggesting that Ratix's, a character from a game where speed is completely eyeballed and what not, speed is on par with Mewtwo's?  Cause Shaymin (in Sky Form) isn't just merey "Fast"; its downright psycho. 127 base speed  to an 80~ average is NOT something to take lightly.  The only Pokemon offhand faster than him are:

Ninjask (150 Speed, I believe?)
Electrode (140 speed)
Mewtw, Aerodactyl, Crobat, Jolteon (130)
Deoxys Attack and Normal (150)
Deoxys Speed (180)

I know it looks like a lot, but 3 of those Pokemon are "Deoxys", and 4 of them are only 3 points higher.  Furthermore, this is a cast with 200+ some odd characters, and there's lots of absolute failures in speed (Shuckle has like 5, Torkoal like 10, etc.  Yes, they are fully evolved.)  I have trouble stomaching a Star Ocean having speed hypable on that level, unless its something like Dias spamming Air Slash.

NOTE: In the DL, add about 20 to each of those speed scores I listed above for what they look relatively; these are just base speeds.

Galatic punt won't trigger off that. I'm hyping a crit+God hand being fatal. I may be overselling Chie's offense or crit rate but that seems like a fair kneejerk.

Well, far be it for me to argue with the expert. ;) I hadn't remembered that Shaymin was such a speed demon. Hmm... Yeah, I guess this match looks more in Shaymin's favor. *changes vote*

If I'm not mistaken, non-Sky form is in every version of the game and Sky form is only in Platinum? If so, haha at Sky form. The form that is in more games, and the more-played games at that, should take precedence.

Regarding the Chie fight: Chie has both Tarukaja and Power Charge, and Power Charge doesn't get used up until she actually physicals something. Tarukaja+PC'd God's Hand is like 1065 P4 damage (and that Kresnik lets her stack up both with enough HP for two GHs is a testament to his UNBRIDLED DAMAGE SUCK), which may OHKO Kresnik even through defend (going by the 205 average damage figure, it most definitely does, although P4 damage averages are sorta contemptible. I have to ask someone on how to calc the average offense on moves that spend HP to check if they're worth using in the averages - granted, Souji's always is).

There's also a 20% chance Chie will reflect Kres's damage back at him, and in a long fight, that might be the bit she needs to then FIST OF GOD him

Regarding the legality of forms, the reason I list Pokémon as simply being as Pokémon game-wise is precisely so that people can vote on any forms they feel comfortable voting on.  ie Skymin is perfectly fine to vote on if that's how you'd like to vote (hence, of course, Shaymin and Giratina being present in this season).
Admittedly, even Shaymin's base form (it has mew-like stats, 100 in all bases) strike me as faster than Roddick, but that's not so overwhelmingly fast that blah blah interps can't happen.

Uh...  since Healie somehow won last week...  and is currently winning 2-0 at the moment...  Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, unless remake Healie is uber or something.  For Big Joe, I could vaguely understand, because maybe some people deny him his crowd (though..  it kicks in sometimes even if you don't deathblow, and seems about as legal as various other seemingly other "environmental" effects for other duelers, and Joe might win without a crowd anyway if you hold Healie to his horrible AI that heals early and spends turn defending).  But...  any Fire Emblem character?  Both Fire Emblem and Dragon Warrior IV are subtractive defense games.  As a reminder, Healie does 1-2 damage at best to enemies, and enemies with good defense (like Saro's Shadow) get a "miss," i.e. no damage due to defense entirely nulling the attack.  The rest of the cast at the end of their chapters is doing way better damage, 20-25 at least, meaning Healie has something like 20HKO damage at absolute best (that's using 3 damage).  Unless Jagen has a defense score of *0*, Healie's attacks are tinking here.  And if you don't allow subtractive defense, and let Healie have perfect AI, if Jagen has anything approaching offense Healie won't be able to do a whole lot other than heal due to his miserable HP and defense as well.

I haven't played Shadow Dragon, but basically Jagen needs to be Euram-level competent to lose this one, at least to original Healie.

Healie if scaled to the time does 3 to an average of 12 damage, which puts him on the Cristo/Taloon level of pathetic for offense. He is fast though!!! That is assuming you're just scaling him against Ragnar. If not, the average damage does sound closer to what you're saying, yeah.

He has some evade. Jeigan sounds absolutely awful, but it is Healie.
