Music Tournament of DOOM Vol. 2 ~Semifinals~

The end of the tournament is quickly approaching, but this round marks the return of the Failure and Anime brackets as all three sets have now reached the semifinal stage.  I'm leaving tomorrow and will not be back at my house until late Tuesday, so I will close this at midnight EST Tuesday, June 9.

FAILURE BRACKET

Honeybee Manor (Final Fantasy VII) vs. Key to my Heart (Tales of Destiny 2): If KtmH played in Honeybee Manor I wouldn't have lasted a minute there.

Bitter Dance (Star Ocean 3) vs. Dragon Slayer (Dragon Slayer): ... I believe your Justice, people. Don't let me down.

ANIME

Canta Per Me (Noir) vs. Blast My Desire (Initial D Fourth Stage): Blasted its way through far superior Kajiura in previous rounds.

Destiny ~Taiyou no Hana (Black Jack 21) vs. Salva Nos (Noir): No real comment here. Only match I had to relisten to. Not digging Salva Nos at this stage anymore, the beat sinks it.

EXEC_SPHILIA/. (Ar Tonelico 2) vs. Main Theme (Orchestral) (Parasite Eve) - Excellent match.  Really a coinflip.

FAILURE BRACKET

Honeybee Manor (Final Fantasy VII) vs. Key to my Heart (Tales of Destiny 2) - In the spirit of maschosim, I will listen to Key to My Heart again.  Pain.
Bitter Dance (Star Ocean 3) vs. Dragon Slayer (Dragon Slayer) - Ugh.  The sound quality for Dragon Slayer still feels like cheating, as the melody isn't completely awful.  Just short and bad.  Bitter Dance has far better production quality, which drives the point of its fail home.  Will have to think on this.

ANIME

Canta Per Me (Noir) vs. Blast My Desire (Initial D Fourth Stage) - Blast has a few small flaws, which doesn't cut it vs. Canta per me.
Destiny ~Taiyou no Hana (Black Jack 21) vs. Salva Nos (Noir) - Huh.  Looking back, it seems that the two people who nommed Salva Nos, superaielman and myself, both voted for Aura last round... weird.  Anyway.  Destiny is pretty awesome, and tiebreak towards it due to mixing things up slightly more while Salva Nos is relentless but a little too consistent.  Aura would defeat both to me.

Nefertiti (Mana Khemia) vs. The Fate ~ Cluster Amaryllis (Shadow Hearts Covenant) - Easily my favourite two songs left from any division. If either of these champs, I'll be happy~
EXEC_SPHILIA/. (Ar Tonelico 2) vs. Main Theme (Orchestral) (Parasite Eve) - EXEC is... odd. Good for the most part, but distinctly odd. I'm not sure if that goes particularly well for or against it, but I'm leaning against, because at the moment, it's taking me from an otherwise good song and-- EXEC. 3 minutes. WIN. <3
PE Theme is... nice. Can't really say much more for it at this stage. Or 6 minutes later. It had its good moments, but, for the most part, was pretty average. EXEC takes this, but I'm hoping whatever wins here doesn't champ.

FAILURE BRACKET
Honeybee Manor (Final Fantasy VII) vs. Key to my Heart (Tales of Destiny 2) - Yes, it's fail. Bu~ut... outside of bad Engrish and a maybe slightly bad beat, I'm not seeing what's so bad about KtmH today. Honeybee has THAT NOISE, which makes it an automatic fail!winner over a "meh" song in my books.
Bitter Dance (Star Ocean 3) vs. Dragon Slayer (Dragon Slayer) - OH DEAR GOD. I think that's the first time I listened to that one. Either way, Dragon Slayer, outside of the low audio quality, isn't all -that- bad... Bitter Dance is... ugh.

ANIME
Canta Per Me (Noir) vs. Blast My Desire (Initial D Fourth Stage) - I agree with Snow that Blast has its flaws, but for the most part, it's much better than the average song. Canta's good, but just... this isn't close. Not at all.
Destiny ~Taiyou no Hana (Black Jack 21) vs. Salva Nos (Noir) - I... forgot Destiny was playing. I like Salva. That's enough to decide it for me.

Nefertiti (Mana Khemia) vs. The Fate ~ Cluster Amaryllis (Shadow Hearts Covenant): Ehhh. I like both of these but wouldn't really shortlist either of them for champ. Oh well. Nefertiti works better out of game, I guess, so that's a decent tiebreaker.

EXEC_SPHILIA/. (Ar Tonelico 2) vs. Main Theme (Orchestral) (Parasite Eve): Sphilia is good, but not at all champ calibre. If we once again have a merely decent track beat out an excellent one at the last minute, rage will ensue.

FAILURE BRACKET

Honeybee Manor (Final Fantasy VII) vs. Key to my Heart (Tales of Destiny 2): Either of these is a worthy champ for this division.

Bitter Dance (Star Ocean 3) vs. Dragon Slayer (Dragon Slayer): The most listenable of the SO3 tracks is the only one left. What the hell, guys?
