Never played the early DQs, but taking a stab in the dark and guessing it's Insert Name, hero of Dragon Quest 1.

He also doesn't get any lines, and two Yes/No choices. One of which is a Suikoden choice.

He's the grankid of Erdrick the Great (or mighty or some other adjective I can't recall right now).

In FF1, in Elfland, one of the tombstones reads "Here lies Erdrick". I honestly thought this one was going to be a gimme.

Aluse not only has to kill the Devil masqurading as god as the final boss, but God is also an optional boss. Also, Guv works for Trode who is cursed to look like a monster.
