Ding ding ding ding.

1. Just as planned.
This could apply to a lot of stuff, but most notably the "I will create devices that reprogram people's minds, but also send me sekrit DNA data, and in order to convince people to use this I'll put neat combat programs into them, and also give them to a warmongering kingdom to spread everywhere, so that when Felius finally arrives he'll totally grab an ARM which will then tip me off to his presence."  And, uh, it works.  (To a lesser extent, his Black ARMs plans, too.)

2. Whose side am I on?  There are several answers to this, but always my own.
Weisheit was one of the 12 warriors of awesome who defeated the Big Bad on Elw Borea, but he fell out with Felius & Yulia.  He's worked for a bunch of Elysian governments since, though not entirely (he leaks their plans to blow up the capital, etc.).  He tries to backpedal on his dimensional rift plan as well at the last second.

3. I have two titles.  One I bear openly and proudly.  The other was unjustly denied me.
"Merchant of Death" (his in-battle title is even "Death Merchant!") which everyone knows, and "Lord of Destruction", which he believes he earned by defeating the previous Lord of Destruction, though he ends up exiled from Elw Borea and not really properly ruling it as he thinks he should.  More generally, he's got two *names* as well (Kressen & Weisheit), so.

4. I'm also a thief of sorts.  Still, couldn't I find anything better than...  this ... to steal that one time?
Kressen developed some way to steal bodies to keep surviving on Filgaia.  This closes with him somehow stealing Edna's body...  despite the fact that Edna would surely have not fled in the direction of the dimensional rift...  and he shouldn't have really have known where to teleport anyway...  and Edna's got a bunch of soldiers, so why not steal their healthy bodies instead?!  Not to mention that Edna stabs him and he's already a mess.  Yeah if you can't tell I didn't like that plot twist, let Edna escape in peace with her big box of jewels dang it.

5. ...and that one time being just before what sure looks like my last time.  This was REALLY the wrong tool to try to save the world with.  NoT aS pLAaAaAAaAaAANNeD
And Edna!Weisheit then teleports back to the mountaintop in time for the grand finale.  And Edna is pretty much precisely the *wrong* body to use to confront the final boss with, as Edna is not really a fighter and the final seems pretty eager to kill her.  Yet it's been beaten to the punch.  (Also thanks to one Light Yagami for theft of the fine wail of despair.)

6. Still, you can't be entirely sure I won't be back.  There was that time I sacrificed (?) myself, too, but I got better.  A person who's been around as long as I have knows some good tricks.
Weisheit charges forward to save Chelle and co. in some kind of "I'll buy time for you" deal.  And then dies.  With this fact seemingly confirmed by the party.  He's back for more, with the same body, later in Chapter 3 though with no particular explanation.  I figured he'd be doing some body-switching here, but maybe he just stuck his spirit in an identical homunculus or something?  Beats me.

7. My motive?  Revenge.  Against a world, and against one person in particular - a powerless fool who, yet, is also the vessel of my hopes and plans.
Kressen wanted to be the new psychotic dictator of Elw Borea which is why he overthrew the old one.  He also likes insulting Felius about his powerlessness and his empty oaths, though Felius did help screw Kressen originally (even if he repeatedly got smashed by him in combat).  Weisheit's plan is something like "mentally torture Felius, beat him up, then steal his body so that the DNA-locks on the Lombardia will work for me."

I'll let someone else pick it up, drawing a blank on a character/questions to use at the moment.

2. I'm not the cutest mascot ever, but I wasn't put in the game to be cute, anyway!

3. I like talking. I like talking a lot. I love talking. To everyone. With everyone. Especially strangers! But also friends. In fact, I'd marry talking if I didn't already have one great love in life! If it wasn't for me, the party would be prrrrretty quiet!

Nall?

And we have a winner.

1. Every game needs a cute mascot character. - Almost literally said by the game's developers, and I figured Nall is a mascot so it's specific enough.

2. I'm not the cutest mascot ever, but I wasn't put in the game to be cute, anyway! - Nall was made because they needed "an assertive pet, because the hero can't be assertive so players can identify with him."

3. I like talking. I like talking a lot. I love talking. To everyone. With everyone. Especially strangers! But also friends. In fact, I'd marry talking if I didn't already have one great love in life! If it wasn't for me, the party would be prrrrretty quiet! - When talking to NPCs, or among the party, Nall's amount of lines is probably one of, if not THE highest in the game.

Hint 4 would've been, "I can help you in battle, but it's sort of hit and miss: sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're not" referring to his revival and status curing in combat that... doesn't always happen!

Wow, I didn't think that stab in the dark would be the answer.  I haven't played many games, so it narrows down the options.

Next character!

1. My master!  He betrayed me!
