1. There's one person I can definitely believe in.
2. That same person is someone that I respect a lot.
3. ... Well! That's one way to go from "respected" to "you're the one I want to kill".
4. Though they are now my comrades, in the past, these people who fight alongside me would've just been... hindrances, I guess.
5. Then again, my allies include... a ladies' man, a bishoujo healer girl, a little girl with potent magic, an obnoxious (YMMV) long-haired guy... and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
6. I spent all this time chasing after this guy... only to find out it was him all along! What a joke.

Solid Snake? Clearly the disappointment in finding out the bad guy was his own Big Boss hit him hard. Otacon is moderately annoying and Naomi has potent science which is basically magic! And Clue 7 refers to the obliviousness of the guards. 8 is Kojima.

Worded this one a little wrong, but you spend half the series chasing after someone you believe to be the enemy... only to find out it was Ovan all along.

Adept Rogue, I was honestly running out of things.

I deliberately tried to formulate some hints in such way that it also applied to Luke/Asch to set people on the wrong track.
