It's hardly an obscure image. What I'd really like is a high-res image of the Yulie + Jude In Field Of Flowers image, but laziness overtook me in searching for it.

For what it's worth, CK, I haven't watched any anime from the past 4 years with the notable exceptions of "Anime based on RPGs" (Tales of the Abyss, Valkyria Chronicles, Shining TearsXWind), Gurren Lagann, and Code Geass after hearing people tear it to shreds in the Anime topic to such an extent that I -had- to see the trainwreck. Gurren Lagann was notably the only one I enjoyed for its intended merits.

I was also under the impression that it was fairly well-known.

Casting? Niu as Boota is the only one that feels right.

Santa Claus and Punch and Judy!  Remember it is from 1948 when you judge it harshly.

Shame I couldn't find the really classic clip though.  There is an episode from the show that used to air in the afternoon where Punch murders Judy (because he finds her cheating on him?) and then kills a policeman to escape.  Cause you know, it is for kids.

When I see this, all I can think of is Yoko Ono.  And if you can't see the humour in Grefter being cast as Yoko Ono, then your soul, good sir, is dead.

Legends speak of such a process, but I've never seen it. Personally, I don't believe it exists.

I've seen that entire .gif minus the last frame about the robot (which I assume was tacked on to version mc linked), so as always, the credit goes to the science nerds rather than the anime fans here.

About halfway through the gif I completely forgot what the purpose was and went "ooh, I recognize those stars from my childhood!"

Also for what it's worth I suspect Neon Genesis Evangelion would get the best responses for casting if you had to pick an anime (and get some... interesting responses <_<). Though something like Star Wars would be better though, really.
