Hey, I understood you for the most part, except for the word "Pizza", but that was 40% my hearing being shit and 50% LOUD DISCO BOWLING. The accent sure didn't help, but the Germanic language type accent gives me trouble anyway (God Damn The Dutch), and, yeah, Finnish isn't too far off that. More than that, though, is that you're far quieter than most Americans, because Americans are fucking loud. WE ARE USED TO USING OUR OUTDOOR VOICES INSIDE.
Sales tax can burn in hell, agreed. "Whoa this is cheap" and "Holy crap WTF" prices boil down to tariffs and stupid international trade. Similar experience in England--Mutton and celery and rice were cheaper than the US, but on the flipside Corn, Cheese, and Beef were far more expensive.
The road sign issue is 100% New Jersey. The rest of our roads are fine and usually well marked.
