I'm always a little surprised by how many Europeans we have in the group or have had. I don't think we've ever had anyone from mainland Asia here though, aside from Tai and ID's school trips there. No one from the middle east either besides Corwin, donno if he is ever around though.

On that note: Two of our best editors were from non English speaking countries. (PD and Snow.)

It's still a pretty low number, though.

I'm more surprised by Australia represent.

Our non US population is a fairly notable amount of the group. This group is heavily focused on  US RPGs and being fluent in English. The latter is harder to get in Europe than the former. Or, PAL sucks.

Australia isn't too shocking, since it's primarily English speaking.

The US DLers tend to be more bunched up , which makes sense with the US population density. We have people from around 20ish states on average, though this varies some. It's mostly gathered up into a handful of states- New york, Cali, New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida all have several people from the group there.

If I discount Andemon on accounts of having never seen him active, the amount of active Europeans equals that of Australia. That's sort of surprising to me, since Australia is usually what I find to be underrepresented when taken against Europe, Asia or America.

And hey, fluency in English is as common in America as it is in Europe.

Andemon's been gone for a while. He does come and go some.

Bard: You clearly haven't tried to listen to people from the UK. That is not English.

Ryogo was Canadian, though he wasn't around for that long / it's been quite some time.

The Canadians are pretty localised, like the Americans; except for an Albertan who left 6 years ago, mc's grad studies in Montreal, and a brief Newfoundlander whose name I forget, we've all been from BC, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.

I have, but I was kind of trying to say some Americans fail just as hard at English as Europeans. It's flabbergasting.

Yeah, I'd divide the US into regions as follows:

Stuff over about 15 million in population is big enough to be considered a region.  For instance, California, Texas, metropolitan area of New York+Northern New Jersey+Long Island.  The other logical division being divisions of language...except there isn't really such a division in the US (where division of language would be relevant is, say, Quebec vs Canada--not that we have any Quebecois in the DL right now).  Islands or large geographic separations are another decent division (Hawaii, and kinda Alaska).

Hmm...wonder what the map of the US would look like if divided up like that in a sensible way....

Yakko, Random, Cmdr, VSM, Tai off the top of my head, with you not living there right now. Virginia has five right now (Dune, me, Xer, Pyro, Ciddy). Virginia cheats a bit since Xer just moved here and Cid  lives at the very edges of the state.

California- MC, Dhyer, Andrew, Ashley, Gate, QR, Laggy, Niu, Monkey. Though most of you all are bunched in SF. Florida has... Djinn when he's there, Soppy sometime, Scar, Neph, Donald? I may be forgetting someone as well.

I  relatively fail at English aye!

This is because -

a) Scottish slang (will provide notes for minimeet) - No Gaelic though =(

b) Teacher was not qualified to teach mainstream English (no mainstream high 'cause bullying)

c) CT~

I've lived in mainland China for a while, and I don't actually come from the Philippines - most of you should know this anyway but many people still don't, so I think it bears repeating. For what it's worth, they say Hong Kong is part of China but I never lived on the mainland part of HK. ^^;;

And yes, I do realize that this is where you currently live, but I'm just kind of sick of people assuming I'm Filipino when I'm not. :V

Way to go me for sounding emo without me having any emo thoughts in mind, just me speaking out my mind!

Clearly I have to go do that if everything I'm going to say is emo.

And even then, that's something that's happened not really online, anyway.

Eh, Trance.  The big thing you missed is that Super's list isn't on where people are originally from, but where they are now (mc is a good example of someone who has been stated, in this thread, of having lived somewhere that he's not currently on the list for).

Farthest apart: Clear Tranquil and I think Carthrat. (UK and southern Australia.)  Tonfa and Snow are pretty far apart too. (Finland and inland Brazil)
Closest, ignoring people who live together: Alex and Hal. (5 minutes by car).
Largest country without a representive: China. We have one or two Chinese members, but no one living there right now.
Smallest country with a representive:  Finland. We have two!
