Shale: Indeed. I honestly hate 4e alignments anyway (particular for the insinuation that Good = Law and Evil = Chaos, which is just plain not true).
I will admit, on the other hand, that I do miss some of the fine-tuning potential that 3.5e had. Being locked into a class...does do that, and true multiclassing (rather than just stealing another class' Paragon Path), frankly, blows. (Four of your 6-7 feats before Level 10, and the payoffs genuinely suck. Might as well either PP-steal or yank a few powers).
Plus side, fighters are no longer glorified meatshields, and can be genuinely scary on the battlefield.
...Don't get me started on how Item Dailies work in 4e, though. They're even LESS desirable than 1/day items in 3.5e, seeing as they suck your own dailies to use them, and are often less useful by comparison...
