I'm actually horribly disappointed that all my lab tests at the health center came back completely normal. :(

That sounds familiar somehow....
~~~~
So yeah. I had to go to the doctor yesterday. Not because of my vomiting or other unpleasantness. No. I broke out in hives. Actual goddamn hives. Hives are the most ridiculous thing. They're these horrible little itching welts that flare up right on the end of your nerves and just sort of constantly fire off insane itching sensations. It is like making love to insulation.
I had to get two shots. Unfortunately, they both went into my ass, one for each cheek. Lucky for me, the one knocked me out, but now my schedule is screwed again, because I got up at 7PM.
Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.
You know you're getting old when joints start creaking when you get up. Ow. My knee hurts anyway from my little bike accident a few days back.
Jet Lag and poor sleeping habits for 3 days after one gets off the plane.  Not even close to a record, though.  I've slept for a good 20 hours, once.  I think that's long enough to be declared legally dead.
I can do 12 hours without jetlag pretty easy.  That said it certainly makes the 20 hour type one much easier.
So, power goes out because of huge snowstorm, burns out my PS2... sort of.  Got it working again but now occasionally it'll shut off without warning.  Mm.  Then, for some reason, my computer doesn't send data to my monitor properly.  Half the time it will just show a black screen.  Everything else works fine, just... not that.  Fairly sure it's my graphics card, or something, since the monitor itself runs fine (when it's unplugged, it displays the test screen just fine, but when it's plugged in it just shows black.)  Sigh.
On the one hand, if it is my graphics card, hell yeah, an excuse to update it so I can play Assassin's Creed/Bioshock/Mass Effect/Fallout 3 without buying an XBox360.  On the other hand, no pornography because doing that at the family computer is weird.  No mIRC either, because I can't get it to install on this for some reason.
Use the ratman Java client, it's on page two of the IRC topic. Your PS2 burning out does suck though.
By 'technically', I assume you mean that you now hold a degree but haven't finished classes yet, or...
You have enough credits for a degree, but haven't applied to graduate yet, or...
As long as you don't fail any exams, you'll be getting your diploma?
I mean that I should have a degree shortly, as I passed the last class I needed. I'm just not walking until summer-ish.
Yeah.  It's... working now, sort of, but cuts out every once in a while.  Used to do it a lot when I played TF2 but yesterday was the first day that it crippled my useage of the computer.  I've established that it's not the monitor or the connection cord, since both worked on my parents' computer.  I'm also pretty sure it's not the drivers, since it sometimes doesn't display anything when booting up.  Pretty sure that means it's the connection on my computer, which means it's the graphics card... but I'd like to figure it out for sure before I spend my money on a new card when I could just as easily spend it on drugs.
---
Congratulations, Andy.  You graduated with a degree in English.  Your parents must be so fucking proud.
Should have spent the last 4 and a half years playing pinball...
So my grandfather passed away Sunday afternoon, two weeks into his 88th year. Because we took care of him for the last 10 years of his life, his finances and ours are tied inextricably together. Consequently, life sucks right now and not just because another WWII vet has gone into the great aether.
I might end up having to drop out of school a semester early, help my family pack up and move (... somewhere...), and possibly move back in with them to help them get things together again.
MIGHT.
You know what? It's not even that all of that stuff would happen that bothers me. It's the might. I am 100% capable of picking up the reins of whatever situation I'm thrown into (or put myself into), but the waiting and the not knowing which or what is KILLING ME.
The one blessing is actually that my grandfather has passed. He has been living the past 5 or 6 years with progressively destructive Alzheimer's. He was getting to the point where he didn't recognize my mother, his daughter, anymore.
Rest in peace, Major Garth.
This sounds very tough, and losing a loved one really sucks, even if, in the end, he probably found peace. Best regards to you and your family, and my condolences.
