I don't mind getting sick so much, but I'd rather not miss work if I can help it. I have two days until I'm off for awhile, soooo.

Something you're not telling us, MC?
Actually yes, I haven't been reporting my nightly TF2 outings in the "what games are you playing" topic lately.

Oh, wait, you meant in my sex life?  Umm...err...I've been told I look sexy in a Kimono?

I don't think anyone that has been to DLCon 2 would doubt that.

Out of all the people to miss mc in a dress it was Zenny?  That must be some kind of crime.

Huh. I guess that's a new series in the same, uh series? I could look it up, but I'm lazy. Much as I like Alan Moore, I wasn't thrilled with the first two books of LoEG.

Aaaand: home at last! No work for a week and half! Ahahahahaha. Soul-crushing despair = temporarily dispelled! Must watch Haruhi to prolong state of euphoria.

I've said it before in person, but going to a job you don't hate is worth taking a paycut for. Makes life so much easier.  Definitely understand why some people stay in food service long term in spite of the hours and pay.

Combination sequel and prequel that has Mina and Quatermain evading an Orwellian dictatorship in the 1950s and also uncovering "historical" accounts of the League.

You both suck.  I haven't even got around to reading LEG and know that was out and what it is.

It is a sequel yeah El Cid.  He has been talking about doing one and following up with later generations of literary public domain characters for ages, this is the start of that.

Damned warnings of posting and Super made me post this after Shale.  I WAS READY FIRST DAMN YE.

I am actually interested in reading some Punisher just for a laugh.  Just have to take it along the lines of Sin City where it is just a rule of cool thing and not anything serious.

Man I have had both League of Extraordinary Gentleman and From Hell to read for yonks and never got around to it.  SHould fix that sometime.

I still need to read From Hell myself. I tried, but just couldn't get past the art and lettering. You have no excuse on League, though.

Gah, damn.  Past 3 days have been a pain in the ass - apparently, Comcast screwed up (wow, who would have freaking guessed) and has been taking our interent on and off (I...don't know why - no one I've talked to can explain it).  I've been posting from work (which has been also maddening, working a mix of times, including overnight) so far.  So yeah, should be back to normal tomorrow, but we'll see.

Arrived back in Vancouver last night.  Woke up this morning to snow.  (Not Snow as in Jo'ou, snow as in white stuff on the ground).  This is actually extremely rare in Vancouver--it's possible we'll have a white Christmas if it doesn't melt before then.  This isn't necessarily a good thing, though, since I haven't done any Christmas shopping, and Vancouver's preparadness for snow tends to be pretty low.

The fact that you felt you had to clarify that it was snow and not Snow was priceless.

From Hell is a lot to digest, yeah. It basically reads like a long and detailed character assassination of Victorian England in general, to me. The Jack the Ripper stuff is just one component of that (and far from a mystery since you know who he is very early on, of course Hollywood had to make it the big Reveal in the movie anyway. Still more watchable than the other Alan Moore-derived flicks!) It was definitely...interesting, but I need to reread it just to figure out whether I liked it or not.

I will probably pick up the new LoEG despite being underwhelmed by the first two (Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Top Ten/Smax are the Moore books I'm really fond of). Gref's description makes it sound fun. Though, my sister knows me well enough that I might wind up getting it for Christmas, so we shall wait!

Alan Moore, eh?  Not that I suppose anyone will, but definitely worth checking out is his run on WildC.A.T.S, issues #21-#34 (or so) collaborating with lyrical penciller Travis Charest.  This neatly dovetails with the equally worthy Warren Ellis run on its sister comic Stormwatch in conjunction with smooth operator Tom Raney (Starting in #37 through the end of the first Stormwatch series in #45).

Also, if you're going for Punisher, do yourself a huge favor and only read what Garth Ennis has written.  I would describe it as "The Professional" with a more entertaining supporting cast, and hilariously unblinking black comedy narration.
Rocky: you do know what an A-bomb is, right?
Bullwinkle: A-bomb is what some people call our show!
Rocky: I don't think that's very funny...
Bullwinkle: Neither do they, apparently!

I have heard Moore's run on Swamp Thing was also pretty inspired.  One of many things on my to read list for when I feel like comics.
