SC3 Raphael isn't quite as cheap as he was in SC2, but he is still pretty cheap, yeah.

I actually did managed to catch him with a few good guard impacts, but there wasn't a whole lot I could do to follow through.  Like I said, he was using the Queen's Guard, which recovers health every time he does friggin' anything (and even when he stands there and does nothing too), so I couldn't whittle down his health fast enough.  I probably should have used the Halberd against him (which penetrates defenses) but I stuck with the Hreas...Hrest...Hraevel...the difficult-to-spell weapon that automatically avoids some throws and ring-outs and will occasionally guard impact automatically.

Ah well, maybe next time.

That's the problem with using non-default weapons in tourneys. Characters with awesome weapons get an unfair advantage, and with someone like Raph who focuses on constant action, a weapon like Queen's Guard is really dangerous. What is its weakness anyways? Lack of power, balance, etc.?

Granted, it wasn't a big official tournament, and using different weapons does help to spice up the game if you play it a lot, but it also encourages people to use characters based at least slightly on weapons as opposed to who they're straight out best with.

Copied from GameFAQs:

Queen's Guard
- Increase defense power. (130%)
- Health recovers gradually.
- Recover some health from opponent after inflicting damage.
- Health increases while guarding enemy attacks. (10%)

Uh...yeah.  No real weaknesses.  He recovers HP every time be blinks, basically.  You just have to blitz him and end the match quickly before he gets a chance to heal all the damage you've done to him.  Or go for a ring-out.  You can solve any problem with a ring-out.

Indeed. And speaking as a Taki player, that makes me happy.

Most character's ultimates don't have huge glaring weaknesses, only some special ones get gimped out weapons and those that do usually have a non-ultimate that pretty much is at that level anyway (thinking Mitsurugi here).  I thiiiink Taki might get boned though.

But yeah weapons in tournaments is just no.

I have a boxer's fracture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxer%27s_fracture) in my right hand, thanks to punching something too hard in rehearsal yesterday. God dammit.

So my brother used my iPod to transfer files from a friend's laptop to his computer yesterday.  Without having iTunes intalled on his computer, this process made my iPod decide to stop fucking working and needs to be reformatted or whatever the fuck bullshit fancy name Apple have called it.

Fuck you Apple and your stupid fucking encoding.

Edit - I am mostly pissy about having to find a version of iTunes that will work with my PC and iPod though.  Fucking need SP2 which I refuse to use because it is largely dogshit  oh but you can't use a Windows 2000 specific version either.  Fucking bullshit.

I think that 3rd party iTunes replacements are now in the development stages; you might be able to find one that works on your computer instead of having to install more bullshit just to get your iRetard working again.

Oh I normally use an alternative (Sharepod), but I needed iTunes to restore to factory defaults (and apparently install the lastest software, with no option to do otherwise of course).  Sharepod just refused to even open the thing.

I'm far too experienced with punching inanimate objects to break my hand on one now.

PRO-TIP:
Don't punch inanimate objects. If you ever really have to punch someone in the head, use the palm, instead. Save your breakable fist for their softer, fleshier parts.

Tuck your thumb UNDER your fist, not inside. That's step one.

Step two is to buy a pair of knuckle-dusters. Saves wear and tear.

Got awesome news yesterday. Because it's been so long since I last miserably failed math, I can retake the placement test. If I score above a... 45? 50? On it, I place out of Math 103 and don't have to take it again for the fourth time.

This means I have to teach myself Algebra. Which means I'll have a breakdown oh say midway through and will have to have Elfboy teach most of it to me.  But fuck that shit, I'm going to get out of math forever! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

(I'm happy.)

I have three classes to go to make it in the Radiology program after Bio 101: Anatomy and Human Physiology (BIO 141), AnP 142, and Medical Terminology. Going to be a busy summer and fall.

The radiology program doesn't have a math requirement past Algebra?  That's... um.  Vaguely scary.

The requirements are some humanities, AnP, and that's like it. The rest is just specialized training to work with the Radiography equipment.

Sure, after you have two years of specializied training with the equipment and you get two A's in Anatomy. Math has near zero use in Radiology which is why it has no requirements there.
