Congratulations to Shale.

And super, that's why I never do anything. Ever. Less chance of being injured that way.

Well, my May Curse strikes again. This time preemptively! Sort of. The transfer to Florida that my Dad put in for last year (one I thought had been tabled indefinately), suddenly came through, so he's moving down there starting in mid-May. They're keeping the house here in NJ until the end of the year, then my Mom is moving down as well.

Not that I'm not happy for them since they've wanted to move to Florida for a while, but I'm very attached to my parents, as well as my home and my town. I really like all of them. Plus, this makes the fishing club also very unlikely for the coming years. Needing a plane ticket instead of a bus ticket to see them really sucks.

Also, looks like instead of late April, the new company will be taking over the theater in May now. So I have that to look forward to. Already let go of my boss, so I'm now handling payroll, ordering, print traffic and staff policy as well. This should be a fun month coming up.

Congratulations to your parents.  So I assume the house isn't in a perpetual state of fixing anymore?  It is good to see good things happen to nice people on occasions.

Hell, the house has actually been like you saw it for a long, long time. We just finished the bathroom downstairs about a year before DL-Con. (Well, the shower was the only thing that was left undone for a while). I think they're planning to get everything done over the summer.

For those who don't know and may construe the previous post as a bad thing, my May Curse is something thats happened to me going on many years now. Usually in May something happens that's usually rather life-altering in a major way. Most of the time it's been negative. While this is cool for my parents, still changes a lot of things for me.

Of course, can always look to work for the negative! Woo.

Yeah don't think anyone smart would have read the parents thing as a bad.  Big, but not a bad thing.  Again to reiterate seems like a good thing to happen to them, they left a lasting impression on my as a really nice pair of people when I met them.

AAA's morning Itinerary:

6:00 am: Wake up

6:20 am: Head out to car, begin drive to work

6:22 am: Car stalls 10 yards from house.

6:23 am: Try to restart car. Car stalls. Curse.

6:26 am: Try to restart car. Car stalls. Curse.

6:31 am: Try to restart car. Car stalls. Curse.

Half an hour later with similar results...

7:00 am: Try to restart car. Car works! Continue drive.

7:02 am: Car stalls in front of stop sign. Curse. A few cars pass, wave them by while trying to look like being stuck right by a stop sign is exactly what you planned to do.

7:03 am: Try to restart car. Car works! Give up, drive home.

7:05 am: Car stalls halfway there. Stick car in neutral, car starts after heavy application of gas pedal.

7:07 am: Park car back home, curse.

7:33 am: Write about it on the internet.

Found out today I got Honors on my thesis (and according to one of my best professors, my acting itself was worthy og High Honors; my paper just wasn't quite at that level, which is what I expected), as well as an award the Theater department here gives to one or two (two, in the case of this year) students who "have contributed the most to theater at Wesleyan over the course of their undergraduate career."

So, a pretty good day.

I had a chicken sandwhich and walked in the rain.

Somehow I feel like the real winner here. *nodnod* It was a good sandwhich.

I met Bob Vila today.  He was friendly.  He wasn't wearing flannel, though, which was kind of disappointing.

Yeah, that's it.

Ha! I was listening to Ruska  and the sandwhich had pickles. Pickles trump squash, and Ruska trump puny Stragoness.

Ooo... if it had been a ricotta-filled ravioli, I might have given it to Strago... but chicken is pretty good. I had my mother's excellent barbecue chicken on the grill last night, with homemade baked beans. She made chicken fried rice and stir-fried broccoli tonight. Both were excellent dinners, and make me quite happy with having parents who cook.

Also, perfect 100% on the presentation for my senior project on the spread and prevention of zoonotic diseases. The paper was 97%, so I'd say I'm doing pretty good to finish the year >_>

Congrats though Strago, really fucking well done.

Bob Vila is a TV handyman personality, Snow. Or something. I'll admit I'm mostly familiar with him as Tim Taylor's rival on Home Improvement and was surprised when I learned he was actually a real person outside that.

More importantly,
Congrats though Strago, really fucking well done.

I beat you all for terrible dinners. I had to eat baked[?!] fajitas with extremely plastic cheese. Like, sub-velveeta.

I'm making sure mom never buys that brand again.

I just finished off some frozen (well, then warmed up) pork in sausage form and kraut with a Greek desert bread.

Yes, I realize the irony of Greece + Germany, but I don't think they noticed it.
