Ok, so I'm watching my little sister for the day, since my parents are at a Bar Mitzvah or something.  Anyway, so I tell her to get up and have her snack.  She's being a little less than co-operative, asking me to "Carry her."

So I reluctantly agree to it; she's laying down in an awkward position, and I can't get good leverage.  Nevertheless, I lift her up and...suddenly, massive pain in my back!  So much that I actually drop my sister.  FORTUNATELY, she was right above the couch, which is pretty well cushioned, so she was unharmed, but as for me? I am barely able to stand for some time.  I manage to get to my feet, but...argh!

Basically, the end result? My back hurts and has been hurting for the past 4 hours or so.  Its odd cause I never had any sort of injuries like that in the past, or anything remotely close to my back, so...yeah.

The end result?

Don't think of it as a novel. Think of it as a chance to retroactively win every argument you have ever walked away from.

So I went to the trouble of going down to pick up two tickets to Beck in August. I go down to the ticket place on the other end of town before work because one of the guys I work with wanted to know how much they were. Well, apparently this was the first day they decided to start closing on Mondays. Advance warning would have been nice. Crossing town isn't hard, or time consuming, but it IS obnoxious, as Bend is full of fucking roundabouts, which nobody knows how to navigate because they're too busy trying to change the radio, talk on their phone, open a soda and jerk off all at the same time.

Then I went to work, which I followed up by coming home and getting drunk, as usual.

I dunno where to post it, but watched Disc 1 of season 2 of Venture Brothers.  It is a pretty long season, this is a good thing.  The episodes are probably of a higher quality than season 1 even which is amazing.  They get a whole lot more off the wall crazy weird and it is perfect.  Need more Bowie involvment.

So Brazil's plan to conquer Peru using nothing but dieuretics was not, in fact, a success?

Maybe they can 'accidently' invade Venezuela and solve the Chavez problem instead!

Both Columbia and Venezuela could probably hand Brazil it's head.

Colombia, most likely. Uribe has a very competent police and army force (it has to be, it's been heavily engaged against guerilla combat units). Venezuela, though... hard to say. In spite of the money poured down Venezuela's army due to Chavez being nuts, I have to wonder about the manpower. Granted, only a downright idiot would try to stir up warfare conflicts in South America and - wait, Chavez.

THIS. It's like both my family and my friends know what I do every 6 saturday nights despite me never uttering a peep to them about it, and do everything in their power to force other plans on me on those days.

I have a tendency to miss nom night too. Usually I end up having a fishing tournament that weekend, so I'm at home where I don't have IRC, or I'm out doing something important in NYC.

A couple of years back, those Poker Tournaments that I attend every now and then used to be scheduled under the same conditions: A Saturday every six weeks. It's an oddly popular scheduling system for some people. What's really odd is how it somehow manages to be the same bloody Saturday.

Yeah.  Things are looking good.  Done with the semester, got an e-mail confirming that I'll be studying in Norwich next fall, and this summer might have a job tutoring 30 hours a week.  Things are looking up.
