Well, I get home from work and...I get home just in time to see the Pitchers come out at Yankee Stadium (which means I only saw them and the Center fielders. They saved Center Field for last cause most of the greats played that position, apparently. Also lets them end with Bernie Williams which is a fitting end in this regard.)
Watched the rest of the opening Ceremony. Pity I couldn't see all of it; it was quite a sight. You tend to forget just how many legends played at Yankee Stadium, and just how many people they comemorated; some of those who were deceased got family members to represent them.
Oddly, apparently Don Mattingly wasn't introduced at 1st Base.
So yeah, it's going to be sad given this is the last game and all that. What's even sadder is my little sister never got a chance to go to Yankee Stadium despite how often we went in the past before she was born (and what's even worse was my parents even had the chance to go but shit happened that day and it fell through.)
So yeah, as a Yankee fan, things...aren't going to feel quite right. Kind of insulting that they're turning this into a lot for the new ball park. Just think about it; you say to someone "You know Babe Ruth? He use to play where are car is parked!"
