Well, I just got a call from my mother telling me that my grandfather had passed away on Thursday. I...I'm hit a bit harder by this then I thought I would be. I knew it was coming eventually and all. He's been in and out of the hospital for years. Just...I hadn't seen him for years, and the last we spoke it wasn't on the most positive note. I think the worst of it is that I was planning on making a cross country road trip this summer(before DLC) and catching back up with all of the family members I had been hiding from for so long. I had gotten back in touch via post, but hadn't gotten out there physically yet. I guess I just feel like I should have gotten out there last summer. Too little, too late and such.

Bleh. I'll stop subjecting you all to my introspective depressions. Suffice to say I'll be gone a bit longer then my usual weekend vanishing act this week.

Don't beat yourself up over the plans, Gate. It's way too easy to wrap yourself in a trap of hindsight. You couldn't have known, and you wanted to make an effort. And you did, but the timing was off. That's all, and that's what matters.

Shouldn't have made fun of Super for book costs. I am hammered by a 160 dollar investing textbook. To show how poor my investing skills are already, I have to pay extra, because I can't find it in a store that DOESN'T inflate the price 40 bucks. Online has shipping and wait periods for a class I am taking now.

I have suffered for my hubris!
