Blue Mage (Final Fantasy V) vs Aschen Brodel (Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Eternal Frontier) - Faster, Alert hax, and Blue Mage having no real way to remedy POIZN.  Think that's enough.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kekfa Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI)- Kefka cheers that Levin lost.
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter)- Don't know off the top of my head.

Middle

Lilianne Valendorf (Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy) vs Fauxnel (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume)- Well, she may be able to rustle up some Silence protection on some armor, which would make this more of a match. Of course, then she's probably relying on status weapons.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kekfa Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI): Kefka would own Levin with Train, for what it's worth. Cancel Strike against someone faster = fuck no. Even if you see Kefka's first turn as average.
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter): Seph needs to take a full round of Elyon and his clones. I dunno if he can. They do 2.4x PCHP or so, which is about Seph's HP to me.

Light

Sanaki (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) vs Cinnamon (Mega Man X: Command Mission): Well I might see Sanaki's light magic not being resisted here, but it doesn't matter. Sanaki pdur sucks.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kefka Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI) - CK must die for Ultimecia in the semis.

Blue Mage (Final Fantasy V) vs Aschen Brodel (Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Eternal Frontier) - Alert only owns status attached to physicals as far as I'm concerned.

Lilianne Valendorf (Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy) vs Fauxnel (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume) - Suspend Motion > Middle. EDIT: Though, y'know It's sorta funny that Fauxnel needs POIZN BLOW to win here, since Lily immunes Dark Savior. If you see her immuning status period, the match gets pretty funny and sad.

Eh, not getting into that debate here. Though, there's also Kefka's 1/3 Hyperdrive counters below half HP, which don't matter too often normally but certainly do in this case.

Blue Mage (Final Fantasy V) vs Aschen Brodel (Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Eternal Frontier) - uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I... think it's possible but hard to test if Alert kicks in on status attacks by testing PC status versus it? Gutchecking no, though, which means Aschen can't wreck Blue Mage fast enough. Sad fight.

Closes next week.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kefka Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI) - You misspelled Kefka, CK.
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter) - Yeah.

Heavy

Hero (Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride) vs Chrodechild (Suikoden Tierkreis)
Blue Mage (Final Fantasy V) vs Aschen Brodel (Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Eternal Frontier)

Middle

Liu (Suikoden Tierkreis) vs Marie (Eternal Poison) - Delirium + Pyro III don't KO, Liu's faster and has healing.  Sadness.
Lilianne Valendorf (Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy) vs Fauxnel (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume) - Lily can get Seal immunity on three different armors:

Heaven's Silk: ATK +18 DEF +53 RES +53 SPD +18
# 00-35 - Single Feather: SPD +5.
# 15-60 - Broken Seal: Seal immunity.
# 40-85 - Prompty: -7% action wait time.

Silver Threads: DEF +66 RES +80
# 00-35 - Wall of Light: +15% chance to block magic elemental attacks.
# 15-60 - Broken Seal: Seal immunity.
# 40-85 - Dampener: RES +10.

La Matador: DEF +31 RES +61
# 00-10 - Mana Shield: +20% chance to block magic elemental attacks.
# 00-35 - Broken Seal: Seal immunity.
# 15-60 - Magic Block: +10% chance to block magic elemental attacks.

Heaven's Silk for more speed or La Matador for random magic blocking are probably the best ones for this match.

Hm, with Heaven's Silk she goes first to me, which she needs if she wants to outslug.  Glaceration -> charge -> charge -> activate would KO, but... Fauxnel 3HKOs back it looks like, so that won't work.  If she goes for any other kind of damage, Reflect Sorcery screws it up.  So yeah, depends on status weapons.  I'll try and test those later this week then.

EDIT: Kill's rate is about 25%.  The other status weapons are about 40%.  Slow on the cannon is about 60%.  Lily gets three shots of the ID, which is... 58% chance to hit overall.  Enough for me, unless there's something I'm missing.

Light

Sanaki (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) vs Cinnamon (Mega Man X: Command Mission) - Hm, Cinnamon goes first and... 2HKOs quite solidly, but Sanaki gets a counter in there.  Hm, she 2HKOs with Forged Light if Flare kicks in (even with a higher average), but that's only 47% chance.  I guess evasion would tip it if I gave Sanaki leadership bonuses but...I'm not so sure about that anymore.  Generally did allow it, but realized it's kind of similar to allowing Alma equip swapping which I didn't allow, so... need to figure out which way I want to go on that, though to be fair I'll go this way for now.
Bernadette Egan (Suikoden V) vs Judith (Tales of Vesperia) - Sure.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kekfa Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI)
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter): Elyon and his clones were all melee for actual good conventional damage, if memory serves. So if Elyon opens by charging Karma, Sephiroth just wails on him, while if Elyon opens with clones or an attack Sephiroth flies up and goes to town with break.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kekfa Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI): Agree with Elfboy's sentiments about Kefka > Levin on that note.  That said, Kefka has damage, Ultimecia does not.
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter): I don't see Sephiroth anywhere near as durable as Elfboy does, so easy win here.

Also, regarding the Melee immunity screwnig with Elyon's clones?
Elyon's clones have Jolt and Lightning which isn't that far behind his physical stuff, so no, they aren't walled by Sephiroth flying.  Jolt is 100 (vs. Hammerblow's 140) and Lightning is 170 (vs. Pentastrokes 200); IOWs, if Sephiroth goes aireborne, he's giving Elyon a free turn to use slightly worse damage.
Or alternatively, 2 turns of Magic from Elyon > 1 turn of Physicals; Sephiroth going aerial makes him take MORE damage in practice, since he has to give up a turn to gain Melee immunity, hence the "two turns" thing, and furthermore, Break < Shadow Flare, so his damage is nerfed too.
If you Elyon needs at least 2 Physiacl turns to kill Sephiroth...worth noting that 3 Magic Turns is still SLIGHTLY better than 2 Physical turns, so in the end, they end up the same.

Heavy

Hero (Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride) vs Chrodechild (Suikoden Tierkreis): can't vote.
Blue Mage (Final Fantasy V) vs Aschen Brodel (Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Eternal Frontier): Can't vote.

Middle

Liu (Suikoden Tierkreis) vs Marie (Eternal Poison): More unvotnig...
Lilianne Valendorf (Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy) vs Fauxnel (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume): As well as here.

Light

Sanaki (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn) vs Cinnamon (Mega Man X: Command Mission): Cinnamon can take a hit, Sanaki cannot.
Bernadette Egan (Suikoden V) vs Judith (Tales of Vesperia): Kneejerk.

Ultimecia (Final Fantasy VIII) vs Kekfa Palazzo (Final Fantasy VI): I wouldn't see Kefka as faster than Levin myself, if that's the match we're actually talking about because this one is too clear <_<
Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) vs Elyon (Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter): OHKOs.

Middle

Lilianne Valendorf (Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy) vs Fauxnel (Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume): She's immune to Suspend Motion with Aroma Material but I think he just wails on her naturally. He's so glad I take his PC form due to Suspend Motion making it better than the lose-if-enemy-is-above-average-speed boss form.

Light

Bernadette Egan (Suikoden V) vs Judith (Tales of Vesperia): Bern couldn't get ID immunity? Guess that settles it, since Judy heavily resists water (and mocks ice relentlessly)

Actually, Tal, does Lily need that if you see her immuning status with Aroma Materials period? Lily... immunes Dark (hay guize guess which element Fauxnel gets as his primary), and his backup is POIZN BLOW, which is a serious downgrade both short-term and long-term in damage for him. She risks outdoing Fauxnel with Glacieration that way.

EDIT: Wait, it's not much of a loss. Hmmm. Yeah, this gets weird then.

If Lily's immuning dark, she's below average speed and runs into Reflect Sorcery before she can Glaceration (it doesn't ignore resistances on the first use, only while charging).  She then needs to drop to Scarf of Darkness with Lightspeed to get above average.  She then needs to charge one more turn to KO due to the damage drop.  Also:

Quote
Dark Savior- 1091 Dark Magic + 47% Silence (976+115 ITD)
Poison Blow- 926 Earth Magic + 50% Poison (781+145 ITD)

It's not that much of a difference and he still 3HKOs anyway.

I forgot about counters, but since VPDS counters are universal on both sides, I allow both characters to counter.  In that case, it goes Lily -> Fauxnel -> Fauxnel -> Lily -> Lily -> Fauxnel, etc.  Lily still gets three turns in before Fauxnel's third, so it doesn't matter.

Just following this out o curiosity, but does that mean you always force people to counter in the VPDS style... i.e. with their most basic attack?
